The random bottle of mustard on the shelf in the background 😂😂
Moar Rising Sun content, please. :) (3 and 5 player counts are my favorite by far)
Please do more rising sun videos. They are beneficial for learning and also to spread awareness of the game.
My favorite part of this video is just your face whenever you talk about every clans upside.
I was so ready to disagree cos RS is my favourite game as well but there are only a few that I'd swap around slightly. Generally speaking I agree with you. Such a brilliant game. The best part is that each of these abilities can be really powerful in the right hands. You really need to understand how they work to counterplay as well. What a beautiful dance.
Never played Rising sun... as a matter of fact, I barely know what it is, but I can see the passion you have for this game that I always ended up watching the videos even if I have no clue what is it. The next logical step is to give us a gameplay video !
0:11 oh my heck yeah
Where did you find a copy of this I thought they all burned 😱
I’m finally getting this on Saturday. Let’s play if you’re at dice tower west..I’m sure you’ll hAve lots of time
I love your enthusiasm-I look forward to teaching it soon! This helps! Thanks a lot!
love RS!!
My favorite game.
Awesome content. Thank you.
Thanks for a great video
I will watch your Rising Sun videos as long as you make them.
We love the game. I pressed the like button before you asked us to press the like button. If I didn't then our 2 bengals would never forgive me.
Been playing this game for 4 years now... I can say that our group is thr strongest world wide.
Fun list, but I feel like you fluctuated between this being the best clans as in strongest or the best for you. Either way it was a fun watch and hearing opinions regarding my favorite game is always welcome.
Deciding what's strongest or weakest is pretty difficult because how useful the clans are changes greatly if it's different player counts, what cards they get, what kami are available.
If its by favorite mine is probably between Koi, Dragonfly, Bonsai or Fox (I usually just pick after everyone else is done). I actually think Turtle is my least favorite, its either that or Moon. They feel very restrictive imo where I have to do very specific things if I want to do well.
Love this.
Top RS is top 3 for me.
8. Dragonfly, most agree!
7. Bonsai. Agreed again! Easiest to get locked, one of the hardest to play, not the most fun ability.
6. Lotus. I don't tend to negotiate that much and can usually manage to get something out of any mandate I draw.
5. Turtle. Straightforward. Take or leave. Haven't played turtle a lot for new players ALWAYS want to play turtle (and they do it horribly HAHAHAHA). I guess 2 in 100+ games.
4. Fox. Yes, double Righteousness is insta-win. Easy to block as well, but YES, you fight every battle and I love that. I believe Lotus is better/stronger, but fox is more fun to play for me.
3. Koi, amazing clan. Super strong, super fun to play.
2. Moon. Fantastic to play with, love the handicap they have. Hard to pull-off but can rock the game. Trully shines with Kami unbound (the complete game experience).
1. Sun. Nothing to add. The best of the best. Most fun to play. I don't play it that often because my friends consider it abusive XD.
Honestly, looking at your list I was like, wait, is that mine?! haha, It really could always go any way, I'm just so happy to play RS I don't ever care what clan.
@@RoomandBoardReviews same sentiment.
Emphasis on the Kami unbound being included. I avoided it for too long and it has been a really great addition to aur games.
Rising sun is also my favourite game, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Have you tried playing Ankh for Thoth? He also has interesting ability based on if you can predict opponents decision during battle
Nevermind my question I went and checked your video on ankh expansion
Dragonfly actually got second place in my first game of Rising Sun even without the Oni of Spite. They just ended up taking a few other Oni that were available and it was still terrifying to deal with.
best clan for me is fox clan.
I focus on one province or 2 that I need for bonuses, and I take part in the rest anyway.
more please
Sun clan represent
Yesssssssss
Where can i find some basic strategies for each clan?
CMON should make a "6 player expansion" ks for this and steal my money already
So, live play through of RS on the channel when? 😉
My favorite game as well!
Here's my personal ranking:
1. Turtle
2. Sun
3. Lotus
4. Fox
5. Moon
6. Dragonfly
7. Koi
8. Bansai
1. Koi (Too good imo and honestly slightly less fun because of it) 2. Sun 3. Turtle 4. Moon 5. Lotus (but my favorite to play) 6. Bonsai 7. Dragonfly 8. Fox.
Fox is OP. just under Koi
Is there any strategy for FOX clan?
What is your thoughts on Shelfside’s suggested changes to Bonsai in their review of RS?
What did they say?
@RoomandBoardReviews What??? You don't watch all the videos I do? They said to give Bonsai a 2 discount. So a lot of cards are free, and they'd have money left over for combat.
@@dcrbdh I think that's a bad recommendation. It's in Bonsai's interest to get them or their ally to choose the train mandate and then any card they want is free, making it a better power. A 2 coin discount is especially a poor power when you get into the late game, and also then overpowers the card Kami, meaning you have more coins in the early game, which you need to have the push and pull of do I get cards now or do I try for a province. Bonsai needs to work on their own engine. I would wholeheartedly not recommend that idea at all and am vehemently opposed, haha
The problem with the Fox clan is not that it's too strong (wich it is, it's by far the strongest clan in the game and it's always at least in third place). The problem is that it's broken in the sense that it don't work. Your clan power basically says: Hey, do only 1 of the 5 mandates (train) and skip the rest. You don't want to recruit, because you'll do that for free later, and recruting now diminishes your hability to be on EVERY fight. Since you don't recruit, you also don't want to build strongholds, and you have nothing on board to move. You don't want to betray, because that's just a fancy recruit. And you don't want to harvest, because you having nothing on board, but you'll do it if you can't train just to deny it to the others. It's a real problem when the best way to play is not playing.
PS: You might be interestesd in knowing I created 2 new clans, Bear and Monkey, for custom expansions crossover with Blood Rage and Ankh respectivally hehe
Where is it?
BGG?
@@alvarodiazrodriguez2603 The bear clan I posted there years ago. The Monkey I haven't.
Can someone explain to me how exactly koi works when a battle occurs? If i have understood correctly, let's suppose koi & lotus have to batte in an area & koi has 5 total coins, they bet 3 koins in hire ronin & lotus bets 0 in hire ronin, koi's total force for that battle would be all the figures on that area plus the 2 coins they didn't bet, right?
Right!
I just found a copy of Rising Sun that included the KS Promo "Daimyo" box and the Monster/Kami expansions for $250. Should I do it?
That's basically the original "standard Kickstarter" pledge. It was 100 plus shipping back in the day (2017 I believe) but cmon games obviously go for more on the secondary markets if they're hits. I'd watch my video on ranking the different expansions if you want to get a sense of the content you'd be getting. 250 seems fairly standard at this point that people are trying to sell that bundle for. Considering Cthulhu Death May Die and the cmon time machine box, Cmon would probably charge a similar price at this point. It's hard for me to recommend grabbing something where I feel the retail at 100 is also potentially just as fun, but I do love the game and love the Kickstarter extra strongholds and alliance tokens, so I'd say if you think this game is going to get a lot of play, you could get it and likely sell it for the same amount
Your #1 is my #8 and your #7 is my #1! At least we agree on turtles 🐢🐢🐢
Haha that's funny
Where is my new episode Crowdfunding Countdown?! 🤨
As someone who went retail, it's so hard to get the extra clans. CMON makes great game, but their distribution model sucks booty.
