    WHO WE ARE
    SkyFi Audio is a small startup business specializing in the purchase, reconditioning, and reselling of select high end audio equipment. We only buy equipment that we admire and are passionate about. No mid-fi, no gimmicks, and no junk.
    Each piece of equipment is cosmetically restored and fully tested in our well-equipped lab by an engineer with 30+ years of experience in the HiFi world. If it does not meet or exceed the original manufactures specifications, it will not be sold. We are very selective about the equipment we purchase, focusing on mostly analog, high-build quality, American, and European built units.

    I remember selling these along with the rest of the JBL line of the times. Our shop was hosted by JBL for a tour of the actual factory in the Los Angeles. Handmade gear folks! Amazing time in my young life!

      Quite a different time to nowadays where most stuff is from the Chinese conveyerbelt. Besides, I don't even think JBL does anything anymore other than bluetooth speakers.

    Sanding wood in the same room as priceless high-end electronics. Thank heavens you're a professional.

      You'd be surprised at our setup even if you saw it in person. Cleanroom-like on-demand filtering, vacuums that attach to different machines so no chunks of bits fly into the space, etc. There's no junk flying around here.

      If you have a vacuum sander it's really not a big deal, virtually no mess. Maybe go give it a try and see for yourself.

    As a master carpenter i must say.. that you guys (and everyone else) should just apply new veneer right over the existing old veneer. I see it all the time.. veneer is not made to be refinished. Ok it doesn't look to bad when lightly sanded and oiled or even stained. But "lightly" sanded. I'v done it myself. But at some point no. It's pretty easy to learn how to apply. Looks brand new to! And with speaker restores its the speakers and not necessarily the cabinets that make it what it is. Change is good.

    Have to push 4343's to make them work - just like the 4350's. Low volume and the sound is very inaccurate.

    Nice work. Need to force the bondo deeper into the splits with syringe or ptessure. Brown better on the bottom front edge. Velcro : lenses will vibrate at volume.

    Nice work on a rare set of the real classics. RIP James b Lansing. You see many 4310 models these days? I noticed lately their really hard to find around, and if you do they usually don't come cheap considering it was the first monitor of the lineup and was literally the L100 studio version.

    In germany we say stümperhaftes arbeiten von Laien. A sander never ever. And not in a studio with high end components. Static and dust!!!

      Sanding is just fine as long as you have a vacuum system, not much of a problem.

    • @jontiffinphoto
      @jontiffinphoto Před 2 lety

      @@thomasandersen6014 , obviously, my question was why they are not set up as mirrored so the new owner doesn’t have to do that work. In their current configuration they would appear treble heavy to one side of the room.

    • @spvlinn9009
      @spvlinn9009 Před 2 lety

      @@jontiffinphoto the tweeters of mine are also not symmetrical configured and works well in my situation because I have an unsymmetrical room. I think it is worth to redo the veneers and cut solid walnut bottom fronts for such classical pieces. It should be easy with right router bits. Hopefully new owner will do it.
