Im waiting for a mod that fixes the game choosing your weapons for cutscenes or when you get off your horse. I don't want to use the default cattlemen revolver if I always use my custom Schofield.
I believe there is a mod for that called "Disable Horse Holstering." IIRC tho, I wasn't a fan of it because it disables horse holstering entirely while riding (only workaround I guess)
I'm currently using "No Auto Horse Holstering" which disables taking them off your back after 5-10 seconds of riding. Still does it when dismounting in towns tho 🤦🏿♂️
You'll want No Auto Horse Equip for that
Place your cattleman revolver or any other gun you dont plan on using in your weapons locker and the game wont auto equip them

Please keep in mind that most of these mods break different parts of the game at random times, e.g. story AND side missions, world encounters, and npcs. Most notable the duel in Vallentine has known to not appear when using either Version.dll or Online Content Unlocker as these are required for most of the mods mentioned.
Eh I've done a whole playthru with like 90% of these mods. Only a few like Ambient Gang, Disable Black Bars & Gang Hideouts effected missions. A simple solution is to uninstall them or download a version that doesn't spawn them near story interactions.
And even if it does break a few things, imo it's a fair trade off for some of the features the mods introduce. So pick & choose.
I've always had minimal issues with mods. These problems that you've stated are not that serious.
even when it does break missions its a mistake the player makes that is easy to fix when you die and restart checkpoint. and its pretty funny when it happens too

I can't get it to work, I installed a couple of lightweight mods like no auto horse holstering and some time/weather adjustments. And the thing that breaks my game is version.dll/online content unlocker for the Navy Revolver in single player, I really want the navy revolver but my game just keeps crashing every 20 minutes or so with "Error FFFFF".
Tried switching the game to DX12 but it doesn't even launch then. Modding this game is a pain in the ass, it's simple but it it just breaks the game every time.
I'm willing to uninstall all the mods but the one I just don't want to play without is the navy revolver which just so happens to require the game breaking mod to get online content, I don't care for any other online content but that. Another problem is that when I hold someone and press the "beat" key Arthur shoots his gun instead if I'm holding it, so no more pistol whipping.
Modding GTA IV was so much fun in comparison, never had as many problems with modding any game as this one unfortunately.
I already finished the game on console so I don't feel like playing through it again without mods but they just don't want to work right, I fix one thing and break 5 others.
Cool tip:
Turn off the ammo counter in the HUD options.
You can still see your ammo in the weapon wheel, but counting your shots adds a layer of engagement.
I also used to get annoyed by the magical reloading of holstered weapons. However masking that issue fixed its annoyance for me.
I love how ominous they made the areas around Annesburg and the bayou especially at night the music doesn't help how terrifying it is walking around those places at night

I will say it again...RDR, even without mods, is for sure one of the best games of all times. Next gen games look like shit made in two weeks in comparison to this. Nobody has ever made game with such scale in such incredible detail. I need to play it again god damnit. :-D

Lmao these people.. gta6 is a 2025 game that isnt even out yet. Cyberpunk 2077 had the shittiest launch of all time and took ages to achieve the perfection. Rdrd2 is a 2018 game. Enough said.

Seeing the horse sit down was hilarious. Real horses never do that unless in groups or inside buildings in case they have to run from predators.

It's not as demanding as you'd think. I'm on a Ryzen 7 3700x & a RTX 2070 & I get great performance. It's not a high end PC but def not trash.
You can easily run it at 30 FPS & have it look on par or even better than console. The main hurdle is getting a stable 60 FPS, especially in towns like Valentine or Saint Denis.

@@anneshepardget more ram. I went from 8gb to 16 which solved my stuttering issues with a 1650. It’s only about $20 so it’s definitely worth it.

You must enjoy the level of immersion these mods help to bring into the game, but I couldn't help to notice that at 2:12 when the camera turns towards your horse, you haven't even studied it. Clearly an oversight. Nice video and thanks for the mods list.

What started out as just wanting some extra money and cool clothes has led to me installing maybe 10 other mods and still going 😭😂😭😭
You get money too easily in this came to the point that money loses its value completely because you can never spend even half of it.

Which just added the ability to preform idle animations near things, things NPCs could do but not the player..
Thats all I want in games, interactivity with the in-game world, no matter how small, in Skyrim you could place books in your bookshelves, and with the mod, you can sit in a chair and do an animation where your character is reading a
book or idling something else
That's what we need more of
This game is something. Have lot potential. You can tell the horse to follow you, or even guide.

Not using Ped Damage Overhaul with Extended Bleedouts activated combined with WERO is really selling your game short. PDO makes the gunfights almost uncomfortably realistic, it's basically stopped me from going on killing sprees in this game. Highly recommend it.

As someone who knows nothing about programming or general computer science outside of lingering knowledge from my intro to HTML5 course three years ago, the idea of implementing your own idea into this massive game with multiple moving parts sounds absolutely daunting.

Lol I totally agree. Downloading & installing the mods are usually simple but I couldn't begin to comprehend how to actually make them.
I know a lot of mods are just cut or unused content found in the actual game script. But for the ppl who make em from scratch...they have my respect 🤣

It mostly doesn't actually, a lot of mods require another mod that tends to break parts of the game. Especially in the missions and random encounters.

Walking in first person has always been possible on keyboard and mouse, you just briefly tap shift right as you start walking. No mod needed.
This mod flips it around so that when you press W you walk at first and when you briefly press shift you will jog, I like it better that way.

Hey man, I downloaded about the same amount of mods as you have, I've installed them as intended read through everything yet still sometiems my game crashes, I'm running on Vulkan and I have a good PC it shows no Error Message just closes out completely.
I would love to do this, but recently I've been getting GFX Errors every 10 mins even after all the fixes recommended and re-installation.

Red Dead Offline. The wraps are a lil buggy in the gunsmith menu but they should apply once you leave.
Keep in mind tho, if you use WhyEms DLC & Eastern Epics Extras it won't be compatible with both.

Hi. I recently read that many mods, including popular mods like PDO, break the immersion of the game. The game's engine is not supposed to be able to handle various parameters at the same time. This means, for example, that many NPCs (e.g. in trains) and also animals/vegation are not loaded. Has anyone had any experience with this and perhaps knows a solution?

No it's not, I haven't touched the game since 4.02 & I lost my mod set-up due to a hard drive failure 🤦🏿♂️. I'm currently modding Red Dead 2, but I might return to The Witcher at some point

You can install rampage trainer and Lennys mod loader at the same time. Not sure about lennys trainer at the same time but if you have rampage trainer, you don't need another trainer so..

You just answered your own question. 1080p is peasant potato vision when compared to 1440p and above.
Enable TAA and drag the slider up a bit. I disable all other forms of anti aliasing as well but that's down to preference.
