Thank you so much. He got through surgery and is doing awesome! Next 2 weeks are critical. Things look good though. Very thankful. :)

Epoxy or hydronic cement to fix cracks in the actual surface of the slide?

No slide on this one but many folks use epoxy and other materials for slide repairs. I use high strength fast set cement and acrylic add-mix myself... Have more faux rock how-to's including free stuff at davehenderson.podia.com if ya like. Anyway, hope you have an awesome day! Cheers, Mr. Dave :)

What kind of paint? Acrylic? I am going to try it.

I am needing to put a protective coat on our water feature in our pool. It’s made out of real rocks and fake rocks. We also have a concrete water slide. What product do you recommend for the rocks? We have a salt system chlorinator. The real rocks make up the base of the water feature but I have noticed they slough off little bits of themselves into the pool. Almost like sand. I’m sure it’s the type of boulder they are. Curious if the protective coating would help to stop them from disintegrating. Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the question Megan! "Protective Coatings" are usually some sort of acrylic, polyurethane, epoxy, or other material that can help preserve materials exposed to the elements. Over time they all degrade and deteriorate due to the UV rays from the sun and hot/cold cycles outside. Personally I don't use them other than the acrylic latex house paint I use to color my projects. I use high quality paints. Still there may be new products that are better having not tried new "coatings" myself for decades. You could research stuff and try them out if ya like. Get Satin finishes as Gloss would make things look shinny and wet which I personally don't prefer. Then with salt pools you will have more degradation of the rockwork. Also more efflorescence or calcification on the waterline and water course edges. And real rock can flake off depending on the type of stone that was used. Sealing it might slow that down. Anyway, I hope that helps. If you're curious about the faux rock stuff you can check out my free downloads at davehenderson.podia.com if ya like. Have an awesome day! :)
