Trying to get my 9 year old dribbling 20 minutes a day kids see everyone scoring in the NBA and don’t realize how important handle is. If you can make layups and basic shots with great handle you’ll be unstoppable the shot will improve has you get stronger rather than forcing a shot w bad form from far away

During this summer, I practiced dribbling so much I literally split my finger tips. Now the bones in my fingers hurt and ache, I had to stop playing. Your 9 yr old will pay (in pain) at some point from all the practicing. I have been playing basketball for many years (street ball). And now I am paying, knees/hands/ankles.

How do I fix shooting over my head? I all of the sudden started doing it and it has ruined my range
hey, Im probably not that good shooter myself atm, but i recently got some help from my new friend
1. You need an one-motion shot - that means when your arm moves from loaded position to up, the arm never takes a break or stutters.
(you can train this standing 1feet away from the hoop, holding ball on your shooting arms side, next to hip with one hand, and when you move your arm, you turn the hand with the ball while doing it, and it goes with no stop up then little bit forward that you end your shot with elbow facing your eyes)
2. load the wrist from the start.
3. practice flick position
Stay relaxed, put more power from your feet to jump up not forward but up!
U should have ur right leg take the first step intend of the left to have better explosive
