If Shayne Topp can be societally trapped into thinking he is ugly then the rest of us have absolutely been bamboozled. Dude is hot, funny, ripped, and genuinely attractive as a human being. The internet convo was a big deal.
hes also mentioned in multiple videos, he just thinks a lot, he’s anxious, its can happen to you whether you’re handsome or ugly, young or old, etc, I understand where hes coming from (I have adhd and OCD).

He seems like such a genuinely nice dude. I've seen him give little affirmations in videos before to people who were putting themselves down or making a self depricating joke, and I love that. And now this, supporting Angela when she needs it the most. This new cast is just great tbh, they all seem like amazing people.
I always notice him whenever someone says mean things about themselves - he automatically says “Dont say that about yourself”. On one video, Angela kept giving wrong answers and she said she was stupid. Then Chanse automatically said “Angela, no. You are not stupid, don’t say that about yourself” and I just found it so sweet.

I hope they realize how validating it is for a lot of people to hear creators they admire talk about insecurities and anxieties so openly and it’s really cool for them to use their platform that way. Courtney’s piece about feeling “on” too often was really relatable.
I kinda feel the opposite, like seeing these beautiful talented people struggle with insecurities and anxiety, it's like there's no hope for me ever beating it.

Seeing them struggle with stuff (despite seeming so much more talented and attractive than me) makes me feel like I have no chance to overcome it.
Seeing them overcome stuff gives me no solace, because I assume that talented and attractive people would get over stuff easier than I would.
I recognize it's both logically inconsistent _and_ unhealthy reasoning, but that's how it feels.

I relate to Ian so much on the face thing. The “that’s really funny” but not laughing. Sometimes I just don’t have the laugh mode on. It happened way more frequently when my depression was unchecked but even now I still have moments where it takes a second to process but I think “oh wow that was funny!” And then my face is like 😐
Same. One of my nicknames in my family is 'the Robot'. I can be pretty monotone and unemotive; it takes a lot to get me to laugh or smile properly, and even more to get me excited. But like Ian, the rest of my body fidgets like I'm on crack. 😂

It can also feel a little awkward to compliment someone right in front of you, for both the giver and receiver, especially if Shayne has already told Ian how much he admires him. When shayne talked about instagram making him feel like a loser, and even mentioned him feeling ugly. I completely agree. I deleted my instagram over 3 years ago now for that reason. It made me feel so negative towards myself. Whether that was my self image, or what I was doing with my life in general. definitely helped getting rid of it entirely.

Something that came to my mind during the “stupid questions” question: I’m a writing and test prep tutor, as well as a college freshman composition instructor. One of the best pieces of advice I got in that field was to move away from asking “do you have any questions” and instead to ask “what questions do you have.” It doesn’t seem like a huge change, but the wording shift subtly lets the students know that they are not only allowed but somewhat expected to ask for clarification if something isn’t clear. After all, a teacher can’t help to the fullest if they don’t know where the student actually needs help.

Just wanted to take a second to say how much I've been enjoying all of the recent longer-form content. As if it weren't enough to get so many awesome videos from each of the channels throughout the week, now they're even longer so we get more content.

43:41 I know Ian is just being funny to promote smosh and what not, but in all seriousness, smosh has actually really helped me lately. As one does, I have been feeling a certain type of way, and a not very fun type of way. And it's been very difficult trying to resist certain things and not think about bad things and stuff, but now, when I feel like that i've started to put on smosh. And it's really helped. Ive noticed that i can go from feeling really sad to laughing out loud and feeling genuinely happy. Thank you smosh.

The ending is fine tbh. It’s just the whole build up to that finale by being 22 eps about the wedding, only to be divorced in the next episode. I still agree with what happened at the ending, but didn’t like how it arrived there.
