You and your partner have an interesting work relationship, she is always there with the right tool and/or item at the right time. My wife and I worked closely together on similar projects for over 60 years, we’re are 83 now!
Congratulations to you and your wife! Catherine and I make a great team and there is no one I would rather work on projects with or spend time with than her. ❤️
Thanks for watching!
What a great team you two are. What a brilliant guy that driver was. That would be a company you would call on again in the future without a doubt. Great to see the build coming together 🇬🇧
We appreciate the comments. Yes, the driver was fantastic. Thanks for watching!
Looks really nice. I am pretty sure it is called cantilever.

Creating your reo “grid” from rebar all wired together is very labor intensive.
Here downunder we would use weld mesh sheets, cut to size & just wire the overlaps, sit on concrete chairs & pour.
I guess if you don’t value your labour and the rebar is cheaper than weld mesh then maybe it makes economic sense perhaps? 🤷♂️
Other than that it seemed to work out OK. 👍👍👍🇦🇺
Thanks Ian. Most of the rebar we used was actually left over from the footings and foundation. It is also cheaper to buy rebar than the mesh. Having said that, we are also not shy of labor and hard work. 😉

Hello, you made a good concrete slab, but I would have added 2 joints to prevent the concrete from cracking. You were really lucky with the truck driver, unfortunately these people are becoming fewer and fewer. Greetings from Berlin
Yea, the driver was great! Thanks for watching!
Perty good job don't forget to cut the surface so it won't crack every were like control cuts
We made a conscious decision to not do control cuts. I don’t like the look of the cuts and so we will take our chances with the potential micro cracks. We may cover the concrete with flagstone depending on how it looks in a few years.
Don't to cut control joints within 24 hours, especially on the corners.

Don't forget to leave those boards down so you can have the water go out off the porch and not mess your zip board
Yes, we slopped the concrete away from the house so water will run off. 👍
Thanks for watching!
Missing some important pieces of ZIP Tape!!
Yea. We have a few pieces of ZIP sheathing still missing and then we will finish up the tape! Only so many hours in the day. 😂
Thanks for watching!
