And on August 1, 2022 (KST), Hobi made history as the first Korean act to headline the main stage of Lollapalooza, a major US music festival. The reason why he pressured himself to do well at Lollapalooza makes a lot of sense.

It's completely understandable why Hobi would be worried about this night going well for him. I have so much respect for this man. He is incredibly hard working and always puts 110% into everything he does. I don't think any of us had any doubts that he would smash this performance 🔥 and he no doubt made a lot of new fans that night. So proud of our history-making, record-breaking rockstar! 💜
He unselfishly thinks of his Bts brothers; thus pushing himself to the limits so as not to tarnish their groups image/reputation. As a result, Hobi you were an outstanding solo performer in lollapalooza. God bless you more.
When Jimin tells him "I have nothing to say", you know he nailed it. They are all so free with offering constructive criticism on performances, to improve as artists and make their works the absolute best they can be. When there is no comment, Jhope can take pat on the back straight to his heart and know he succeeded.

Because he is the BTS member & it is a constant pressure for him to do well & it's not easy also to perform alone. 10 years they perform together. Hats off to Hope he nailed it. In the western stage the artists need to be bold & macho type but in Asian opposite to be cute & aegyo moments..

I really really Respect Mr. Jung Hoseok. I know some people who motivates me to do better in life and now Hobi is one of them. I love hardworking and passionate people and this man is the definition of passion.
J-hope proved that his an extremely talented, professional and exceptional artist! So very happy and proud of him. He deserves all the praises, love and acclaims! He has continued to prove he is the best of the best!
Also, I recalled when Taehyung did an interview with J-hope previously, he stated how awesomely talented J-hope was and if he had his talents, he didn’t know if he could be humble like J-hope. It was so sweet of Taehyung, but true about J-hope’s talent and humbleness.

So so proud of Hobi right now, I can't stop watching those clips of Lollapalooza concert .. he was so nervous and worried before but pulled it off to perfection as only Hobi can and of course he would want to make sure he didn't do anything that would tarnish his group's name .. in the end thats where he belong, BTS is what made him who he is today, glad he is the type who keeps that in mind because there are a lot of other artists out there who get swellheaded when they get this type of attention .. I've watched the entire concert 4 times on my own. plus a couple of reaction channels. And then I've watched baseline-cypher-hangsang on repeat like 1000000 times haha. The Baseline and Hangsang was my favorite. EVERYTHING was perfect in the whole performance. But something with the energy from both Hobi (*Jay) and the crowd in those 2 songs makes me feel so many emotions at once

Hobi just became THE benchmark for the rest of BTS and their solo activities. But, what's so wonderful about it is being confident and excited for them knowing that each one WILL do exceedingly well.
Being first to release solo album, doing all solo activity to giving such an electric performance at LOLLAPAlOOGA , really set high standard for BTS. Can't imagine how proud they would of hobi .

Oh my goodness, well done video! I just watched his Vlive with Jimin last night and it was hard to hear the things Jimin was saying. It seems like Hobi was not himself at all. Hopelessness instead of Hope just broke my heart. I’m a 53 year old grandmother and I swear I’ve never wanted to give someone a hug so badly in my life. He’s just wonderful and deserves the world. I wish for him to rest his body and his mind now. He did so great and made all of us so proud. 💜

Though some of Hobi's song is not my kind of music but what I love about him is his stage presence. He is really a king on stage. I'm just blown away by his stage performance. Never have I seen such strong stage presence. Excellent job, Hobi!
He was awesome. I'm so proud of him! It was really inspirational to see him go up there with all this pressure and just kill it.
From the moment I was introduced to BTS I was drawn to j-hope. Instantly. I recognized his incredible talent but felt being apart of a group, he’d never get to shine since that spotlight had to be split 7 ways. But I still saw the potential in him to be a mega-star all on his own. I think having a certain amount of self-doubt before his first solo performance was expected, but I feel bad that j-hope had sooooo much self-doubt to the point of losing weight and not sleeping well for weeks. God love him. Now that Lollapalooza is over, I hope he fully releases that there is no longer a need for self-doubt and that his talent is on a whole other level than most performers out there. He is not only our hope, but he’s our gift.

I'm sitting here, smiling and shedding tears over how proud I am of our dear Hoseok. He was so worried and you could see the fear and panic in his eyes, despite ARMY feeling and knowing he was going to be legendary. I couldn't stop smiling when he was finally in his element and saw his little brother Jimin cheering him from the stands. I know the others wanted to be there too, but we all know they have their own projects to finish and trust me, they'll see Hobi's performance soon enough. I noticed too in his eyes the panic when Becky G looked into his eyes and asked are you Okay? He brought her in for a hug, and probably said, baby, I'm fine. So, so brave. Jimin was in awe. He also saw the choreography was different, easied down a little for the non K-pop dancers. Who can dance authentic K-pop without 3 years practice, not 3 days? But Hobi's loving energy pulled it off. I admire him so much.

You would never know he was nervous leading up to the concert. That’s the true professional that he is. Jimin and Army were his biggest cheerleaders, we all wanted to show how much we support our ☀️. Loved how he gave so much thought into every detail, incorporating new and old together. Absolutely loved CSN-seeing Becky G and him perform, was like watching 2 BFFs hang and have fun together. Love how he made sure to thank every single person for the evening, such a gentleman. Just hope that he can get some well deserved rest after all the hours he put into all the rehearsals. I’m so glad I was able to go and witness this legendary performance. He was absolutely amazing! I didn’t doubt his ability to pull it off at all because he was born to be on stage and perform. He planned everything so well. The dancers and live band were exceptional and Becky G was the cherry on top! I don’t have enough words that can express how extremely proud I am of him. It just hit me that now i get why the other members didn’t go lolla. I believe they didn’t want to take any attention off of JHope. I mean look at the ruckus Jimin created. But that’s his bestie he had ti be there. When i saw JHopes live right after (can’t believe he did that lol) you can see he was so grateful to have Jimin by his side. It was an incredible show. JHope was amazing! 💜 He gave the show of shows at Lolla!!!!! ARMY was there in full force but I met quite a few people who weren’t familiar with JHope or BTS that were raving about JHope after his performance. And ARMY was fabulous as always, our energy could have lit up Chicago for a month! We want MORE!

Thanks for pulling these clips together to highlight these beautiful moments, Colt. J-Hope's performance was spectacular. He erupted onto the stage and even in the "quieter" moments, he lit the stage. A-mazing. Now that performance - even watching on my laptop - what can I say? I'm not a concert goer, but I'd have loved to see that show in person. Seeing the awe, respect, concern, and love in Jimin's face and attitude in their post performance VLive underscored how impactful the show was.
(Aside: I'm not shipping Hobi and Jimin. I think Jimin was "shook." I think Hobi realized and appreciated Jimin's reaction. A beautiful moment - thanks for sharing it here. 💜💜💜)
