It's actually incredible that this is the way technology is heading. Microsoft's Hololens quite literally has the power to do everything we saw in this video. Imagine being able to create movies where you are the protagonist, or be able to simulate movie scenes in reality. its all mind blowing really

actually it can. not quite to this degree yet , but give it 10-20 years and " hololens" support will be broadcast thru 5g/6g wifi.
My favourite part is when the "beautiful you" yoghurt becomes the MAN YOG. It shows that it's really the same product in the end but being marketed to different people, which is exactly what we have now.

@space_1073 yes... we are closer than ever to this video becoming reality
Casey Neistat just walked around NYC with one. Reminded me of this immediately.
Just hope some day the entire OS of some VR/AR device is fully Open source like Linux. I ain't buying any XR hardware until then.
Well, the way AR could end up if you install every piece of malware you receive in your e-mail. Just like the horrible mess you will end up with on your PC or phone if you don't run security software and don't think about what you're installing.
While I'm sure the spammers of today would love that kind of future, I think system software would quickly develop security features to block most of it, just like they do today with existing tech.

As one does.
That's the only way to get people to join. This is all a conspiracy from the church.
@@james_400 No basically they prey on weak and insecure people and then lead them into thinking their religion is undeniably true. Babies, old people, mentally ill people, terminally ill people and people who's virtual lives have been stripped away and stabbed.
@Mr. Numbers I was making a political joke and wasn't actually being serious but the comment did involve my opinions so here you go.
One thing though, what do you mean by 'why we should live'?
No my criticism doesn't come from nowhere, the majority of religious people are taught as early as babies that God and the specific prophet are real. Children don't have the ability to have disbelief so whatever they hear
becomes automatically true.
Old people, mentally ill people etc are targeted all the time at home in hospitals or in public. The people who speak to these people know they are weak and fear monger them to believe.
In theory I believe that a world where religion is not mentioned to children until they are adults would result in an extremely high amount of atheists. I'd like to point out that atheism wouldn't be mentioned either in my hypothetical world.
Anyways I can't prove that nor would I encourage it to be done.
What would you like to debate/ hear about?
@Mr. Numbers Thank you, your question could of had many meanings. I don't kill myself because life is an amazing experience, being aware of myself is something really special. I see the world materialistically but I always try and dumb myself down to view my emotions and the people around me intrinsically. We're lucky to be part of such a complicated atomic structure. It's not like I don't want something we can singularly live for, I'm always trying to learn about religion and convince myself to believe it. But it is so hard to believe in something that, in my opinion, doesn't make sense. My best bet is biocentrism but that still doesn't pose a good enough argument at the moment.
I guess the scientific answer is that my brain has been structured to keep myself alive through evolution and nurture. Life is a beautiful and an amazing thing and to give up on it would just be a waste.
Were you grown up religiously and what convinced you to believe? And is there another reason you live other than God?
I believe this- frankly, brilliant- short was supposed to be somewhat hyperbolic, but the more time passes, the more literal it becomes. I wish I knew the world more, back before it was recording everything I do to advertise back to me.
i wish i knew it better too buddy...

Under section 3 of the Unfreeze Economy Act, 3050 CE, all hardware and software designed to protect one's identity and to minimise profit, was hereby classified as illegal.
why use adblock when you don't need this,
We already have trouble using Adblock now (especially on Mobile) because of how locked-down and controlled they are. What makes you think you'll be able to "install adblock" on this thing if it's so controlled that you can only install stuff from THEIR app store, and they dont WANT you to block ads.
Installing adblock is only a temporary workaround in a closed system. The system itself needs to be destroyed.

@Rexknopf 007 yeah, it is. Example? I went to buy a blacklight last week. Walmart had advertised a black light for parties and stuff, 18 inches long, 30$. @TrillVice Exactly! Also, think of the epidemics of anxiety and depression among young people who have grown up with the pressures of social media and the internet age - people are *already* going crazy. Just give them a short course of cure-all CBT with under-qualified under-paid trainee therapists nobody can afford to tell them they need to stop thinking negatively, or pump them full of meds from big pharmaceutical companies. If people really cannot stand to exist in this situation, they'll kill themselves. It *is* overwhelming - so was the industrial revolution, so was WWI and II, so was the cold war, the rise of computers and so is this internet age, and the future of AI. People who don't accept it are marginalised, sedated or kill themselves.

Anyone else get struck by the clash of priorities that come to the surface here? The cry of a baby's cry is cancelled out for the barrage of carefully crafted, carefully controlled stimuli.
The possibility of a baby crying because it's in real distress would likely be shut-out, too.
So as we become more obsessed with worshiping an artificial interface we would become less in touch with other people inherently.
Look at you, on this artificial interface. No, that idea that as technology progresses we lose our humanity is just total nonsense. Brushing aside that *existing* noise-cancelling headphones can also drown out important audio stimuli like not only crying babies but, say, people screaming because their house is on fire, or being murdered, the internet has also brought us the ability to instantly communicate with people from literally anywhere worldwide, for free, instantly, via video if we want it to be (but we usually don't). It enables us to contact long-lost friends, even play with them from thousands of miles away. And for all the oppression it enables, it gives us the opportunity for even more freedom - hidden "dark" methods of communication can't be looked into like a letter can be opened, and avoiding the Gestapo has never been so easy. Why do you think tyrannical governments (e.g. China, the DPRK) wish to lock down the web? I'd felt the opposite, didn't feel like an absolute headache watching every little animation and colour meshed together, watching this already strained my eyes lol
Zucc really looked at this and said "If only I could make it more dystopic..."
This video singlehandedly inspired a ton of developers and inventors out there.
It is dystopic but not entirely unrealistic. The major platforms that we use on the Internet, like Google, CZcams, Facebook, are funded by advertisements. If we would have some virtual glasses, I wonder how different it will be. Advertising is what funds the Internet. But this depiction makes the empty world of advertising even scarier.
The funny thing is that it is not even that different from our lives now. We are already bombarded with empty advertisements in the city, only in this video they are shown as a virtual layer over our normal vision.
just install AdBlock AR
They're funded by ads because we let them be and because we don't care enough to pay for Facebook. If the advertisements became too annoying then (So long as, say, Facebook didn't hold an evil monopoly with force) some competitor that charged more but didn't have any stupid ads on their service/platform would succeed and surpass the shitty ad-filled services that previously existed. They'd need to make money somehow, so maybe they could just charge an upfront cost or subscription fee. But people will only put up with, well... however much they're willing to put up with. A world like this one just doesn't make sense.
i feel like the world you see in blade runner is much more likely, where the ads are virtual, but not in anyway connected to you via a headset...because that way you don't have a choice on whether you want to see the ad or not.
The future is gonna be more like tokyox100...
The sad part is I was happy to see her system turn off and show the natural reality we're used to having today as opposed to the hyper realistic one.
But to her/him/whomever it would likely be at least as unbearable as we might find it when our smart phones are disabled or lose functionality while we’re engaged in like 5 important conservations/projects at once, across different applications.
@@dethkon Yeah, and I think that's the problem. It's linked to addiction. Withdrawal syndrome.
@@ashtonphoenyx That’s such a good point.
@@dethkon it's a her.
@@ashhunter9958 Maybe this is what Molly Millions sees through her mirror shade implants (and also why she got those retractable Razor Claws installed!) 😉
This was the inspiration for the Apple Vision
Predicted Apple Vision Pro perfectly
I love how the EXACT SAME youghurt switches from "beautiful you probiotic yoghurt " to "MAN YOG for real men only" when the two accounts overlap. ^^
This is absolutely an amazing piece of artwork, but I also love it because it scared me. As someone that works on and fixes computers every day and who is just an overall tech enthusiast, this scares me. It's so possible for it to be this way. So possible, and it's probably going to.
If you really work on computers you must be the repair man, not the coder. Believe me, this is far from getting reality. Something else which will use the basis of this concept WILL become true in just a few years (maybe 10), though. But this concept will be way more polished and way less cluttered and showing you only what you could be interested in when you ask the device for it!
Henny Roggy A bit of both, and I agree. I don't see it becoming something like this exactly, but it's a good conceptualization nonetheless.
It's amazing! But this here could become reality by Google, my favourite company! www.theverge.com/2018/5/17/17344250/google-x-selfish-ledger-video-data-privacy
Creatorof3000 Tell me what you think about it when you watched it :)
Henny Roggy Very very interesting!! The power of suggestion is one of the biggest influnces on human behavior and this is a clear demonstration of that. It's genius because it's so subtle, so seemless. Yet, it would have a huge impact on future generations. It's so bizarre because it's like it alters the Nature VS Nurture agrugment artificially. Many examples of this being so easily a potential future. Like the Facebook example that was given. It's so crazy too, because we are communicating on CZcams (Google) and I am typing this out on my Google Pixel 2. Damn
Is this what we want?
Woah... this was made in 2016? I thought it was a current day video. The frightening thing is, that this is only a few years away from us. A lot of this tech is available now.
“Postmodernity is said to be a culture of fragmentary sensations, eclectic nostalgia, disposable simulacra, and promiscuous superficiality, in which the traditionally valued qualities of depth, coherence, meaning, originality, and authenticity are evacuated or dissolved amid the random swirl of empty signals.”
― Jean Baudrillard
I have no idea what you said but it seems about right
I was waiting for this comment to show up lol. Jean was incredibly ahead of his time and his work really helps put into context the insanity of contemporary existence.
'catholic level 1' lmao
Ugh. Can I change Character class/ vocation?ROFL
wait, you mean to tell me this was made 7 years ago and not yesterday?
Given all the Apple Vision Pro hype, this Hyper Reality short film seems more prescient and relevant than ever.
