    There is some one out there that has been doing this longer than you and they allready spend the time and money for you to find the best wing after buying and flying 100s of wings, his name is Dell Shanze and the best one is still the Dominator. It is that simple trust logic and expirience and the knowlege that has been learned from someone who has flown every wing in a critical mannor to honestly find the best one through trial and error and massive testing and for NO INTREST OF PROFIT like a glider company

    Since I subscribe, I have started to take a look on your older videos. I would like to know your take on Hadron 3 and also XX in regards to your circles ( Speed / Efficiency / Safety ) .
    I'm asking all this because I fly now the H3 , and I was hitting some very nasty turbulence, wing was jittering very fast and couple of times change it's direction about 20 to 30 degrees, however I found it somehow safe and didn't scared me much. Trimmers was all close.
    On the other hand , I have far more than 100 hours on H XX , and every time I was hit by turbulence that was over my comfort level, I was engaging the flaps and everything was ok for me . While H3 is very roll stable compared to H XX , it doesn't have that flaps that I so much love to use. I'm on lightweight side of both wings. 105 kg on 20m .
    Many thanks and all the best to you !

    • @MitchG
      @MitchG  Před 2 lety +1

      I also enjoyed the flaps on the hadxx but I think the h3 is a better wing overall for most people. But if you liked the flap system and you can find a hadxx in good condition, I'd buy it!
      As far as speed efficiency and safety, I think the h3 is slightly more safe than the hadxx because of the roll stability and simplified risers but speed and efficiency are probably very close

    Mitch, we speak a different language than the folks that were presenting PPG education of just a few years ago. A mistake I made, was attempting to expect my role authority dampened MacPara Charger, to perform like I expected it to (think Tucker's early snake videos cruising the corn fields and tree farms of west NJ). Still a pretty good wing for a new PPGer, but I honestly think that choice hindered me, as it would have anyone with considerable other (non PPG) flying experience. The problem was that no-one in the PPG community at that time was taking the time to articulate what exactly passive or excessive passive saftey was. I don't think their understanding had developed enough then. None the less that wing got me into the air for a year. Yet I would and still do highly recommend the Charger for new folks, but only people that are exposing themselves to thinking in 3D for the first time.

    • @MitchG
      @MitchG  Před 4 lety

      Yeah it's strange how some first time pilots naturally understand how the glider turns and how to stop oscillations. While other new pilots will pull the wrong brake at the wrong time and end up almost doing wingovers trying to stop oscillations. I guess it's a good thing we have very roll dampened gliders at least to learn on.

    Mitch, I am considering buying Sky Cima Pwr for SIV course but now interested in Zorrow too. When you make a review on zorrow, can you tell the passive safety margin compare to a wing like warp and is it good for SIV.. thanks in advance Mitch, much appreciate your videos.

    • @MitchG
      @MitchG  Před 4 lety

      I'll talk about it in my upcoming zorrow review. The cima pwr will be much better for siv. The zorrow wont handle stalls like a traditional pg airfoil. Zorrow has more passive safety than the warp but not as much as a cima pwr

  • @NelsonsWings
    @NelsonsWings Před 4 lety

    Good video. I'm going to make more than one comment. More response with the same amount of brake travel in more advanced wings is not just a factor of higher wing loading. Advanced wings have higher aspect ratio. That means shorter chord, and the deformation caused by brakes results in a higher percentage of the chord being deformed. Think of extremes to visualize this. If you had a 30:1 AR, pulling brakes would deform most of the chord.

    • @MitchG

    • @MitchG
      @MitchG  Před 3 lety

      I have one short flight and some kiting with a lift ez-r. Same glider with different risers. It's in the same class as a dudek universal or ozone roadster. It's more roll stable (requires lots of brake to turn) than its peers so better for early beginner flights. Its slightly less efficient than a universal, Less aspect ratio and fewer cells but it's not a big enough difference for a new pilot to notice.
      It's an ok choice for a first wing especially if you can buy one for less than its competitors. If you decide to buy a lift ez, I would buy the ez-r because it's the same glider but with more room to grow as your skills progress

    Hadron xx managed 8 hours realised to advanced

      Pick the wing that has the features you like first. The nucxx has power attack if you want to play with speedbar and slalom style. If you like xc more then go 1.1. Then pick the size. The smaller you go the more agile it will be but the faster you will need to run on takeoff.

      185lbs so probably around 115kg all up with a motor. You could fly a 25.5m or a 28m. If you are a little under 115kg all up weight then get the 25m if you weight yourself with gear and are over 115kg then the the 28m. The 25 will give better handling but you will have to run faster on takeoff.
