My Ultimate “Weight Carrier” Setup (The Ghetto Rig)

- This is a proof of concept/prototype of my modular “weight carrier” concept which essentially consists of a structured cummerbund run in conjunction with a chest rig
The idea is to add more side mounting capability to your typical rig, as well as create a rigid system that can be fully scaled up/down all the way from a full on plate carrier down to a sustainment or even micro chest rig via the use of hot swap pouches and removable plate bags.
This would be an alternative to running chest rigs over a slick plate carrier which requires two seperate shoulder harnesses and would be less comfortable for longer periods though is admittedly a (potentially much) cheaper and perhaps simpler solution, especially if you already have some of that gear.
This is a wip and mainly just a thought project I dreamt up and wanted to create to work with some gear I have and satisfy my own curiosity. I haven’t quite seen this particular concept done before, but it seems the community is heading in this direction and other great methods are currently being fine tuned which have a similar mindset and aim towards a similar goal.
I have ideas how to make this ideal if it was built from the ground up as well as some other projects in the works, if interested in helping me build out my ideas and turn some dreams into reality give me a shout and stay tuned!
