Submarine Voyage - Disneyland - 1990

- The Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage has just been refurbished and is a working ride again, before finding Nemo Submarine Voyage the ride was just called the Submarine Voyage!
The Submarine Voyage was a cool ride in the sea ocean where you would see fish and sharks and even Mermaids and at the end of the ride you see a silly Sea Serpent looking right at you through the port hole!
I videotaped on the Submarine Voyage in 1990, this is a copy of the original videotape of the ride and has some music on it!
Please keep you hands and feet inside the submarine at all times and enjoy the ride! - Zábava
if you think the seas serpent is creepy on the ride you should see him after he was abandoned lmfao its one of the most terrifying things I have ever laid eyes on.
morgan ector WHERE CAN I FIND A PICTURE
@@ins3ctiv0r3 just Google 20,000 leagues under the sea ride abandoned and the website with all of the photos archived should come up!
Same. Glad his stupid fucking head came clean off. Hate that fuckin thing
I HATE that image so very much. It haunts my nightmares.
Didnt expect to see a Lum profile pic here. Urusei Yatsura fans unite
I like how it's a super realistic underwater scene, and then Derp the Magic Dragon shows up.
Lol that derp face too.
He was always my favorite part of it
Kaiser Frost I love this comment so much 🤣🤣🤣 derp the magic dragon, I’m gonna
Use that in the future.
Great Scott! You're right! lmao
Lmao what if its nessy the lop ness monster
It's crazy to think that the guy recording this was just recording a ride at Disneyland along with the surrounding environment, not thinking anything of it. Now it's 2020 and the park has changed SO much since then and a lot of those rides are altered or removed entirely.
The altered rides are the same thing with Disney skins
John ThePiper
This ride is a lot better now
Nothin creepy
Or completely closed because of the damn coronavirus
Reina Arana huh really? Which Disney? The one I went to definitely didn’t have this one at all
Gee -SonicSherlock- disneyland in anaheim, im pretty sure this is now the nemo ride there
thumbnail is nightmare fuel
Ikr
All of this is nightmard fuel
there's more images of the animatronic if you google it. very creepy. usually i don't find animatronics terrifying, but that one is really odd...
znvorz yeah these are my fears
Yesssss I was scrolling through CZcams and when I saw this I literally jumped.
The mermaids were scarier In my opinion. The sea serpent looks a lil goofy is all.
Yeah that's what I think too

I didn’t see any mermaids?
rexrabbiteer I THREW MY PHONE
@@Lollilocks888 oh god what does the link go to??
I dunno why...but animatronics and water dont mix good with me xd
purple flashywolf gaming not at all. I want to cry every time I see one in the water.
You two might have a phobia called Submechanophobia which is the fear of man made items underwater!
Tarynn.Elaine7 i came from tiktok maybe you did too? 😂
Sunflower i did lmfao
Sunflower i did and found out i have this wonderful fear called submechanophobia
someone said the mermaid is scarier than the sea serpent and i’ve been trying to find the mermaid
Angel If you want to see mermaids, you’ll have to see another video.
I found them in this vid: czcams.com/video/6itAJwhyKlg/video.html
Thanks I hate it
Same
omgsicle thank you! also i’m kinda disappointed cause they’re not that scary
Angel Perhaps they meant that the mermaids were creepier.
8:17: Well, I'll never sleep again.
Impatiens the Sorry Shmuck 😂😂
Impatiens the Sorry Shmuck When you finish your first bag of shredded cheese at 3am and you hear footsteps.
Lmfao
Sea monster: sorry Look at you my eyes it crazy lol XD
Isn’t that the truth 😂
Everybody gansta until the sea serpent looks at you
Me: why does dad record everything at Disneyland?
Me in 2020: so fascinating...
I love videos like this for a look back at things from days gone by, even seeing the fashion that people wore back then is fascinating. I hope CZcams never goes away so in 40 years time near the end of my life these videos will still be watchable, thanks for sharing.
I loveeee older videos. I grew up in the 90s so it takes me back seeing 90s stuff. The clothes are so cool lol
Matthew W I felt that
It’s so strange, I grew up in the early 2000’s but seeing these old videos from the 90’s still feels like home to me. Feels warm n comfy
THEODSTKING117
Same
@@THEODSTKING117 same. I don't know why but the 80's and 90's feel nostalgic for me even when I have never been around then
Videos of memories are disturbing to me, mostly the old ones... it’s just so odd seeing the past so vividly... kinda like your not supposed to see it like that... probably just some psychological type thing though
K⃨-Gˀ I get it it’s cool and creepy at the same time
@Hal 9000 you wouldn't understand...
No it’s awesome. It’s like time traveling to the past.
I get what you mean but it’s just so mind blowing to think that we have this kind of technology that lets us see things in the past. I was born in 2005 and here I am watching a video made in the early 90s when my parents didn’t even meet yet! I just find that so cool.
Hal 9000 Yes I do! Unlike you who has the need to respond to this comment in a sarcastic way. Go find something to do loser, or are you just that bored that you decide to pick on teenagers.
Since everyone is talking about phobia, I'm more so affected by large open spaces with hyper-realistic animatronics or taxidermy. If it's in water my fear is very selective about it. And if it's a themed ride I'm usually totally fine and having fun. I could stare at horror animatronics all damn day though
Dion Burnett I absolutely get your fear with the hyper-realistic animatronics and big rooms. I don’t know what it is about it but the situation sets me off
@@theincfiles Boss fight
WOW yeah i think your comment just awoke something in me. Imagine being in a large empty warehouse with an animatronic barely in view on the other side. Euggh!!!!! Interesting bc I think both the fear you listed and the one many people have on animatronics in water come from our instincts... i’m sure we evolved to be scared of things that move underneath us in water or out of our view which is fairly interesting
@@pantstime4529 truly. There were monsters back in the day! Our DNA must still remember that shit hahaha. At the same time I feel like it's also an uncanny valley thing - it looks so alive yet it isn't, and for some reason that just fucks with most of ours heads. Which is why this serpent wasn't scary to me, obviously a cartoon face.....but put me in the drained abandoned room with it.....send me to the hospital because my heart might have left my chest.
Dion Burnett I’m more afraid if I ever fall into the water and see those animatronics.
Me: Watches 1 creepy video
CZcams: *gives me 1000 creepy vids in my recommend*
Yes omg
Same lol
I guess “Yellow Submarine” By the beatles would be fitting with this footage
Barreethoven, that’s what I thought to!!! 😂 although I’m a pretty big Beatles fan and could probably never listen to it again. 😂👏
Yes!!!
I heard that the animatronics were destroyed because of the water fun fact: this ride was replace by a Nemo ride
I read that some of the pieces of the original attraction's scenery and one of the animatronic sea serpents were sold In an auction at the Disneyland Resort in 2005 .(I think the other sea serpent was destroyed)
Everyone here is talking about fears and phobias. I used to be very afraid of animatronics. But then I spent my entire summer in 2016 studying them. I studied how they were made, how they functioned, the types of animatronics, and more! Now, I'm hardly ever scared of animatronics. There are a few occasions were I get frightened by one but it's rather rare. I'm more interested in how it's made rather than how terrifying it is.
oh that’s really good :) ! it’s difficult to overcome your fears but i’m glad
Trying to the do the same with bugs
i used to be absolutely petrified of animatronics and i have zero clue why-
yeah. i find animatronics super interesting and really neat, although some are a little unnerving (specifically run down or really old ones).
This was a great ride when I was a 🧒🏻, because I didn't have problems boarding in submarines with my parents and all of the unknown theme park guests back in the old days. In fact, actresses dressed up as 🧜🏻♀️s when they sat on the rocks that day which was the 40th Anniversary at Disneyland, of course. I was too little to remember it back then. The sea serpent is quite a weird imaginary creature to observe through the portholes, because no one knows that it USED to be an Audio-Animatronic back then. Sorry to spoil the magic and fantasy for you. Did you know that this original attraction was based on the novel, "20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" by: Jules Verne? Please keep the ride video uploads coming, because everyone wants to remember how good the old days were even though change has become a real problem with the world as they know today. 👏🏻
Let's be real, you didn't look this up.
But i did lmao
Yes I did lmao I have a fascination with this kind of thing now after submechanophobia started becoming well known
I did, just to test my submechanophobia.
We did, you unoriginal shit
Annisa Giselle then why don’t you look at actual submechanophobia inducing pictures instead of this crap. Anyone would be creeped out or at least weirded out by this. It doesn’t mean you have submechanophobia
Everyone talking about their fear of the characters is nobody going to talk about how claustrophobic it felt inside there
that sea serpent was creepy
Some people called him the Silly Sea Serpent!
Scripter scared me so bad. I still have flashbacks I'm showing this to my GF as a joke right now
It's extremely derpy
Aw he’s so cute! He looks like my cross eyed Siamese mix!
@@willberman1562 he's cute out from the water. But, when it's in the water, I'm kinda scared.
that thumbnail is the most cursed thing I've seen in a while

Same though!
YES SONEONE SAID ITTT
He really is pretty harmless
He's more derpy than scary😂
Are you guys okay???
am i the only one here with submechanphobia and freaking out
yes i want to rip my skin off rn lmao
lovely egg no right here
I keep watching these videos why Amy I doing this to myself
lovely egg u came from tiktok huh
ME TOO LMAO-
Damn, so many classics. The sky buckets, the People Mover, and the old League ride.
old animatronics in deep dark water don’t mix
Exotic butters it’s really not deep it’s about 5ft for safety issues and it’s just to cover the windows so it seems deep
So that’s what it was before Nemo
Mystical Edits
Yep
The first Finding Nemo film came in 2003
Mystical Edits I’m pretty much glad they removed the sea serpent. It was a little ugly-looking.
Brissa DLR it’s cute
I was more fascinated by the fashions than the ride, seeing the 90s at Disneyland makes me with i was born in a better time not 99 and living the 2000s
It was a nostalgic trip for me 😳
my fight or flight mode is in overdrive right now
I'm just waiting for CZcams recommend to everyone else
That's exactly why I'm here.......CZcams recommended this to me
Don't worry CZcams put it on my recommended
Idk y they put on my recommended, but they did.
o
I can still remember my disappointment as a kid seeing fake marine life on this ride.
Submechromephobia gang
Vriska Reacts right here omg you are the only other person I have met with it :(
Gang shit
😎
Yep, but the emetophobia is stronger for me (fear of vomiting) if someone gets sick with the stomach flu in my family, it's breakdown time

As a kid, Space Mounatin and this were my favorites.
Space mountain and Matterhorn!
This, space mountain, Matterhorn and Alice in Wonderland.
SPACE MOUNTAIN YESSS
No that’s fine I didn’t want to listen to the original audio of the ride anyways
Will Moshe Carr ikr lol
The water looks oddly.. clean?
Well it has to be clean for the ride so you can actually see what’s there
My submechanophobia went through the roof😂😂😭😭

I’m pretty sure they have a reference to the sea serpent on the ride at Disney Springs in Orlando where he is made entirely of LEGOs
One way or another, the seperent's been there for years since long before "Finding Nemo" was a thing, and it looks goofier than either submarine ride version. Part of why it's there is the LEGO store that's in the marketplace section.
Omg! It looks just like it!! Good comparison!!
This is actually so terrifying wtf
Indeed
I remember going on this as a child and i remember a shark being in there and I was so scared. So just watching this has me so anxious yet here my dumbass is watching the whole thing.
Omg this ride! It was my favorite as a child. Thank you so soooo much for posting this. Wow, the memories.

This is the classic 90's disneyland I remember growing up, before they shut down the gondolas, the people mover, and ruined the rocket ride in tomorrowland by putting it on the ground!
Thanks for the video! I was born in 1995, so I never got to experience Disneyland like this. Crazy how things have changed! This was my dad's favorite ride, I'm glad I got to see some of it.

Why on earth is this recommended to me now and what’s with that creepy ass thumbnail bro lmaoooo
Brings back great memories when I was a kid riding this in the 80's. Thanks 😊
Your very welcome and thank you for your comment!
Yes! I miss this version so much
the thumbnail GENUINELY scared me.
The music, the camera quality, the people, no masks, no distancing... this is so nostalgic

HELLO AND WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER EPISODE OF....
WHY THE HELL IS THIS IN MY RECOMMENDATION?!!!
I REALLY REALLY appreciate your videos from 1990! I was there that same year but do not have any video. You've helped me relive my memories! Thank You!
I wish they kept it like these. It would’ve been my favorite ride.
this...
this is what I'm watching during quarantine
There was something mysterious and creepy with those plastic creatures in a depth of water until Nemo came along and ruined it...sad.
How come I always see so many of the phobia comments when we need to talk about how nostalgic this is? Why can’t they just appreciate what they’re at least trying their best to experience this memory lane from the 90’s before. As I grew up in the 2000’s, I found Disneyland so fascinating but also disappointed when they removed some of the rides that’s been made from long ago. My guess is that anyone who’s born in the 2010’s don’t feel the way the 90’s people do, not anymore. But I do and you can’t change my mind, not in the million years. Put your phobias aside and love this memory video before we hit a few years later.
THAT IS THE BEST QUALITY VIDEO FOR 1990!!!
i have a vivid memory of going on this ride after it was refurbished but i thought it was a dream for so long because i didn’t believe disneyland had a submarine cause the memory was from when i was like three.
Nobody:
CZcams: 1990 Disneyland Submarine Voyage
Remember going on this ride back in 1991. And there were headless mermaids at the distance and some floating heads. Lol. Rode it las year 2019 with my son and it's all Nemo themed lol
God such a blast from the past. It's amazing to see how things were even 8 years before my birth. It's so whimsical and mesmerizing
I'm so glad you recorded this!! As someone born in 2003 I never got to see the ride before it was changed, so I'm glad I can at least see what it was like! Man I kinda wish they hadn't changed it, as much as I love Nemo, I still would have loved to see this!!
2014:No
2015:Next time
2016:Maybe later
2017:I’m good
2018:Give it a little more time
2019:Nah

Idk why just seeing all the fish staying in place was so funny to me
Aww that sea serpent animatronic is actually adorable
Tomorrowland needs a complete revamp. Look at all of those attractions in one shot. The Skyway, people mover, the submarine Voyage, motor boat cruise. I really wish they would demolish certain things and do a complete makeover
Just no.
Me, has submechanophobia: "Imma watch the submarine voyage now ig 😔"
I thought this was going to be a vapor wave song based off the thumbnail
Welcome to my youtube recommendations in quarantine
Ahhhhhh, this brings back so many memories. Glad you got this on video. I’m sure it brings you lots of happiness during this time.
i don’t know if it’s just me, but when i look back at old vids and photos i get really uncomfortable..
same kind of. Something just feels "off" about them.
Like a disturbing film or like a weird past
A lot of the older folk are all dead so for me its like watching ghosts almost
dovahfox right😭 and the animatronics ewwww
rufusmcpoofus i know😭 the animatronics creep me out the most.
I dunno if this a sickness or not but when ever i have deja vu or nostolgic vibes my head hurts alot.
I remember going on this ride as a kid with my family. One of my sisters didn't want to go because you'd see one sub go into the cave and one come out and was convinced they were the same sub and that the ride wouldn't be fun or long
I also remember my baby sister really getting into watching everything outosde the window. From a baby's perspective she loved it!
This feels magical, the amount of detail put into this piece is just amazing...
I just had the most creepies imagination (well for me) what is there were under water and then the glass brock and they had no way of getting out and then they all droned and then some staff found them
That thumbnail is a cursed image

The thumbnail is a perfect profile picture
Thanks for putting this up, I never thought I'd get to see the version from my childhood ever again.

Such a derpy looking sea serpent lol
Cant believe i was afraid of that when i saw it back when i was 8.
Thanks for this. It was one of my favorite rides when I was young. I was pretty sad when they changed it but I know they had to. I miss late 80s early 90s Disney Anaheim. Would love to visit again someday to see all the changes. Thanks again!
I like how underwater are usually picturee as a beautiful scenery. Then submechanophobia exists.
The fish in the thumbnail looks so high.

me, watching this despite having submechanophobia:
are u here from tiktok as well lmao
abby I am 😳
(I saw this fact on tiktok so please verify) but Fun fact: They would put real actors dressed as mermaids in the water, and since some of the animatronics were leaking and they didn’t know about it the actors would get very sick this caused them suffer long term effects from it.
What a great little video especially for historical reasons, I really enjoyed it!
I’m glad that I didn’t go on this ride
What's with the music?
does anyone else not have submechanephobia or whatever its called but love these videos?
I love the way it's filmed, very good!
