Those this is kinda late, but depending on your distance from the geisha when you do stare at her, she can dash through walls, even if u do stare at her. As a Joseph main, I have some tips on how to counter me. Kiting Joseph is incredibly easy as he’s the slowest hunter. However, be aware when the Photo World opens. Try to check on the photo world every 10 secs while decoding in order to see if Joseph is about to jumpscare you. You can tell by the heartbeat if I’m close or not. So I suggest you leave the area and return only when you’re sure if Joseph won’t come back. Next is rescue your other self in the Photo World as much as possible and try to heal. Because if you don’t heal, you will get .25 damage which is enough for me to finish you off in one shot. And then, _NEVER_ loop with Joseph. Because we can easily counter loop kiting by our rewind ability. As much as possible, try to go into an area that Joseph hasn’t been in so he can’t rewind. This tip applies to all hunters. Pallets are temporary. Windows are eternal.

When Naiad can dash, make sure not to run in a straight line for too long while transitioning. I can’t tell you how many survivor’s I’ve downed (Naiad main) because they transition with around 80% humidity and don’t look back or change directions, allowing me to get a free water hit via dash.
It goes more solid if the trap is a closed circle. You probably know now since this comment is 3 months ago. The main thing is avoid 50%+ humidity on your portrait and you can flywheel the 98% to 0% when you get good enough.@@togood4u791

Also something about Vio which I learned playing against him: if he uses his skill from presence which sends a note wave to one side, you can actuallu stay in that gap between two of the lines to avoid getting a hit!

When he does the encore thing, it will always go on the side opposite of him, so try and stay on the same side so that he doesnt corner you. This may be common knowledge, but I had no clue about this when I was starting out
There are also photo mains who use photoworld to their advantage when it comes to chase. Like they go in there and suddenly comeback out to jumpscare you so watch out for that. When you're kiting him and he suddenly goes to photoworld- just leave immediately. He also has a weird hitbox so you can try to juke him. And when you're going down and photoworld is up, force yourself to go down in photoworld because if he chairs you there he would have to rechair you when photoworld ends, so it buys time for you and your teammates.
Actually joseph has a really wide hit-box and I really don’t recommend juking his, especially not if he uses his charge attack. Joseph has around a 130 regular hitbox, but when charge attacking that can be deadly since I and many other Jojo mains just spin around to hit. He can also hit over pallets and windows if you’re close enough. All in all the rest is pretty accurate, i just don’t recommend juking him around himself due to his hitbox

I used to play Mary a lot, sometimes when you time it right you can juke her mirrors,, tight kiting isn’t too good because her mirror image can surprise you if you can’t see it when it’s merging with walls. things like naib, perfumer, ench, and even murro counter her. do not camp pallets, if she’s already used her mirror you can, but quickly transitioning is a better strategy afterwards. And you can also usually mess with marys depth perception, if she can’t see you, and she’s using her mirror from far away. There’s a good chance you can get away before she switches [if they’re not chair camping or their presence isn’t to max] do not vault constantly, don’t risk the terror shock with the mirror, Get out of her line of sight. Marys hitbox isn’t that good and if she’s just chasing you; you can most likely juke her. make sure you’re making unpredictable movements when she uses her mirror rotation. Most times if youre near buildings like eversleeping you can make your mirror image run into the building so she can’t hit you that way. if there’s a two story building kite that way! Her mirror can’t reach you and she’ll be forced to get looped
Idk if he mentioned this or I missed it but as a sculptor main it's also annoying when they go up stairs because they can mess up the sculpture placements sometimes. And if you're a slow vaulter then try not to vault since they can vertical statue and hit you when you get off the vault :) sculptor hit recovery is also pretty long so take advantage of that
I know this is late but her recovery speed in general is very long.. I swear.. when coordinator stuns me when I am playing my Galatea she takes a million years to recover and the person is already halfway across the map and I’m like- 😀😀 “Meanie..”
Yall, as a joseph main, DO NOT LOOP! He had a photo card that lets him go back in time while you are looping. It’s time frame is the last 15 seconds. 🤦♂️ He also has a better range than other hunters! He has a 180 degree hit box for his hits.
Agree. As a new player, roughly 5 days or so, this has helped me a lot. Mainly because sometimes I'm still confused (even after reading) about the hunter's abilities. The way he breaks them down here in order to explain how to avoid them, makes me think more logically when trying to kite them.
Great Video Eli ☺️ The only other thing that you forgot to mention is Axe Boys full presence. When going into 2 story areas or stairs with a tree at the bottom you'll get slowed significantly so try to stay at the bottom unless he's really far away.
As an Axeboy/Robbie main, if you do juke the soul hit, either throw a pallet down or vault a window. When that soul gets to him he gets a speed boost so be careful of that. He also has a longer attack recovery speed and window vaulting speed compared to other hunters. When saving, try to get his soul to hit the chair. They're really accurate when they say two story areas are hard for Robbie, they're literally awful. Be very careful when vaulting in a corrupt area, because it's very easy for Robbie to hit you with a soul while you're vaulting. Hope this helped someone
found your channel when I first started IDV from your season 11 hunter tier list. since then I’ve followed a ton of other IDV content creators, but I always just wanted to say that you’re absolutely one of the best out there man. amazing and informed content with super consistent quality. thanks for another great vid, easily the best kiting guide I’ve seen!
As a violinist I will say some ways to counter us, mostly doing this cuz the violinist in that video is usually what a new one is instead of an experienced one. - you can eat basic attacks however the prescene will get fuelled and it could be bad if you are line in sight of Antonio. -his first unlocked ability can slow you down, if you get hit by 3, that’s the max debuff you will get however it affects you more than you think, especially with ones that don’t have an ability to help you distance yourself from the violin man, he is slow but if you are slow too, then it’s bad news for you. It gets removed till you get hit though (unless he hit you before and you get downed) - be careful as an experienced one will try to predict your path, more easily in tight spaces. If you see him put down one note, you can either quickly get out there or bait a note, just avoid getting touched by it and try to keep distance. -with all that being said, the final ability will make these tips harder, he can launch a row of chords on the opposite side of the first chord and if placement is good, you will get hit. There are gaps so you could just stand there. Just be careful if he’s close or he combos that with his first ability after you get hit, then you pray. -as mentioned he is slow and you can bait a chord, breaking line of sight is a perfect tactic against a violinist, just be careful though if he is close. Antonio’s mostly bring detention and maybe confined space and will either use blink or teleport due to his slow speed. So looping May or May not be a good strategy if he realizes and use your path to his advantage. I’m not a grand expert on violinist but I’m good with him. This is just the many tactics I picked up on when I was going against survivors and sometimes other violinists. Can’t guarantee this will all work if the violinist knows a secret trick or two
Some photographer kiting tips from a Joseph main (because I've seen some scary hunter players in high teirs): - If you can see their footprints, try to change up your route so that he can't loop back on you (watch/listen for his card flip) - Adding to above, many photographers like to mind-game, be careful you don't vault into them because you think they will do a card trick - A common trick survivors use is to go in and out of the photo world to evade hits - I recommend practicing with this first, but it does help if it's the only remaining option and you want to kill time - Kite in the mirror world if possible, pallets you throw down won't be used in the regular world that way - Adding to above though, make sure your character's abilities work in the mirror world. I can't remember off the top of my head all of them but I know painter can't place paintings and mech can't use controller - Lots of joseph players use blink to compensate for their lacking chase potential, so be on guard. Some also use the window blocking trait, but this is less common I'll add more later if I can think of any. Good high-tier photographer players will know when to abandon a chase and go for others or camp a chair, so heal up as soon as you're able to - you don't want any chip damage while kiting. As said in the video, photographer isn't very good at chasing, so as long as the hunter doesn't get a good start, it isn't too difficult to get a win or at least a tie. I don’t get it, what does that benefit you? You would already be kiting if you’re hit with it? Oh so that you can focus on kiting instead of hitting the calibration?
As a Joseph main, tight kiting isn’t all that good to be honest, all we gotta do is walk to the closest camera mid chase and down you there. And chair your mirror, and if you’ve played him long enough, you learn how to tell which areas survivors will run to if they know they can’t save their mirror. At least that’s my point of view. Tho I will say, tight kiting after the mirror world falls is a good idea, just as long as Joseph isn’t full presence.
Most hunters in the game can be countered by pallet spamming which literally requires no skills for survivors lol. Plus there’s too many pallets in this game, with cipher rush being a problem you don’t have time to break pallets too.

Best way to deal with Bloody Queen: Stick to her real body, mirror image must be with you (your own) next to yourself when she has mirrors up and try your best to juke her incredibly small hitbox (real body)
You shouldn’t drop that many pallets,first loop in a certain area if u can and then after a while you can reach to the pallets and close spaces but honestly this kiting is pretty bad ngl
I need more help with naiad (it's me the dancer player btw) what if it's a really good naiad and blocks off ur few ways of leaving with the speed boost? Plus blink, i feel like she's broken and the only hunter i can't kite
I wish I could give some awesome 100% tip, but that’s never the case. From my experience playing Grace, I feel like maybe a pirouette could get you out of the water? I don’t encounter too many dancers so I don’t know what strategies you typically use, but just take the basic hit if needed, try to bait the blink, and have fun! ^^ edit: i forgot a word lol
Clerk main here! If you’re kiting against clerk or trying to transition to a better area, try not to use windows or go through pallets! She can drop those on you or block the window so she can get closer and hit you. Also when she tries to record you, don’t do any actions, best to try and loop kite her. Otherwise she’ll get two recordings to sue against you. When you’re decoding and she puts a recording on you, stop decoding, and once the recording is about to end, continue decoding. If you let the recording end before you’ve gone back on the cipher, it will block the cipher and you won’t be able to decode for a while. One last thing. If it’s endgame and she records you opening the gate, don’t stop opening it! If you do it’ll block the password thing and give her time to catch up to you. Just keep entering the password.
As a Hastur main, let me point out that you did have a point, getting hit by a basic attack from Hastur is a lot better than getting hit by the tentacle, but there is something I think you should know about kiting him, even if you find a strong pallet, you have to know that a good Hastur will put a tentacle right where that pallet is, which forces you to either leave that pallet or go to it and suddenly change your direction to waste his tentacle attack, or to dismantle the tentacle, I know he will use that to hit you with a basic attack, that's why you will stop dismantling the tentacle if he seems to be going for a basic attack to put down the pallet, then continue dismantling. If you get downed, tell your team to not rescue you... Believe me, Hastur is a master at chair guarding, and the fact that he got you down quickly means no one can save you, instead they will either speed up your rocketing, or get downed while you are still on the chair. The key to beating Hastur at all is by teamwork and decoding as soon as possible, Hastur is an anti-kiting Hunter, the only thing that will help you in kiting him is playing mind games with him, and keeping a big distance, he can't use tentacles that are too far unless you have been gazed at and you are in range of a tentacle. im sorry but i feel like pallet spamming is always bad. on late game there is literally no pallets and it probaly gonna ruin your kite. if youre playing as character what have vaulting and pallet droppinh debuff pallets and end game are very useful and might turn game into win instead of draw or lose
I agree, it happens sometimes where literally what helps me catch up to a survivor is the fact that they thought there were pallets in the area they went to, only to realize that I broke them before, I suggest relying on windows.
i hate how i vault over a window, while doing so they can still hit me and when im putting down a pallet, they can still hit me which leaves me terrorshocked most of the time

Low tier in a nutshell

Agree. As a new player, roughly 5 days or so, this has helped me a lot. Mainly because sometimes I'm still confused (even after reading) about the hunter's abilities. The way he breaks them down here in order to explain how to avoid them, makes me think more logically when trying to kite them.

Great Video Eli ☺️ The only other thing that you forgot to mention is Axe Boys full presence. When going into 2 story areas or stairs with a tree at the bottom you'll get slowed significantly so try to stay at the bottom unless he's really far away.
As a wax artist main, I see too many people forgetting that I can hit without my wax, so sometimes they get too close and I end up downing them
As an Axeboy/Robbie main, if you do juke the soul hit, either throw a pallet down or vault a window. When that soul gets to him he gets a speed boost so be careful of that. He also has a longer attack recovery speed and window vaulting speed compared to other hunters. When saving, try to get his soul to hit the chair. They're really accurate when they say two story areas are hard for Robbie, they're literally awful. Be very careful when vaulting in a corrupt area, because it's very easy for Robbie to hit you with a soul while you're vaulting. Hope this helped someone
found your channel when I first started IDV from your season 11 hunter tier list. since then I’ve followed a ton of other IDV content creators, but I always just wanted to say that you’re absolutely one of the best out there man. amazing and informed content with super consistent quality. thanks for another great vid, easily the best kiting guide I’ve seen!
As a violinist I will say some ways to counter us, mostly doing this cuz the violinist in that video is usually what a new one is instead of an experienced one.
- you can eat basic attacks however the prescene will get fuelled and it could be bad if you are line in sight of Antonio.
-his first unlocked ability can slow you down, if you get hit by 3, that’s the max debuff you will get however it affects you more than you think, especially with ones that don’t have an ability to help you distance yourself from the violin man, he is slow but if you are slow too, then it’s bad news for you. It gets removed till you get hit though (unless he hit you before and you get downed)
- be careful as an experienced one will try to predict your path, more easily in tight spaces. If you see him put down one note, you can either quickly get out there or bait a note, just avoid getting touched by it and try to keep distance.
-with all that being said, the final ability will make these tips harder, he can launch a row of chords on the opposite side of the first chord and if placement is good, you will get hit. There are gaps so you could just stand there. Just be careful if he’s close or he combos that with his first ability after you get hit, then you pray.
-as mentioned he is slow and you can bait a chord, breaking line of sight is a perfect tactic against a violinist, just be careful though if he is close. Antonio’s mostly bring detention and maybe confined space and will either use blink or teleport due to his slow speed. So looping May or May not be a good strategy if he realizes and use your path to his advantage.
I’m not a grand expert on violinist but I’m good with him. This is just the many tactics I picked up on when I was going against survivors and sometimes other violinists. Can’t guarantee this will all work if the violinist knows a secret trick or two
Some photographer kiting tips from a Joseph main (because I've seen some scary hunter players in high teirs):
- If you can see their footprints, try to change up your route so that he can't loop back on you (watch/listen for his card flip)
- Adding to above, many photographers like to mind-game, be careful you don't vault into them because you think they will do a card trick
- A common trick survivors use is to go in and out of the photo world to evade hits - I recommend practicing with this first, but it does help if it's the only remaining option and you want to kill time
- Kite in the mirror world if possible, pallets you throw down won't be used in the regular world that way
- Adding to above though, make sure your character's abilities work in the mirror world. I can't remember off the top of my head all of them but I know painter can't place paintings and mech can't use controller
- Lots of joseph players use blink to compensate for their lacking chase potential, so be on guard. Some also use the window blocking trait, but this is less common
I'll add more later if I can think of any. Good high-tier photographer players will know when to abandon a chase and go for others or camp a chair, so heal up as soon as you're able to - you don't want any chip damage while kiting. As said in the video, photographer isn't very good at chasing, so as long as the hunter doesn't get a good start, it isn't too difficult to get a win or at least a tie. Good luck - especially in higher tiers - and happy kiting! :D

As a Joseph main, tight kiting isn’t all that good to be honest, all we gotta do is walk to the closest camera mid chase and down you there. And chair your mirror, and if you’ve played him long enough, you learn how to tell which areas survivors will run to if they know they can’t save their mirror. At least that’s my point of view. Tho I will say, tight kiting after the mirror world falls is a good idea, just as long as Joseph isn’t full presence.
Most hunters in the game can be countered by pallet spamming which literally requires no skills for survivors lol. Plus there’s too many pallets in this game, with cipher rush being a problem you don’t have time to break pallets too.
Exactly, the game isn't fun anymore and I want to just take it back to the old days because it actually took skill :/

As a Feaster Main 1 problem also it does annoy us a lot it the angle of the vision, try to lose sight of him so he cannot use the tentacles to attack you
Unless if the 2nd presence is unlocked, then it doesnt matter he can just press the 2nd ability button to smash without looking
As a sculptor main i suggest taking advantage of the fact that her hit expect from statues can't reach very far away

Best way to deal with Bloody Queen: Stick to her real body, mirror image must be with you (your own) next to yourself when she has mirrors up and try your best to juke her incredibly small hitbox (real body)
You shouldn’t drop that many pallets,first loop in a certain area if u can and then after a while you can reach to the pallets and close spaces but honestly this kiting is pretty bad ngl

I wish I could give some awesome 100% tip, but that’s never the case. From my experience playing Grace, I feel like maybe a pirouette could get you out of the water? I don’t encounter too many dancers so I don’t know what strategies you typically use, but just take the basic hit if needed, try to bait the blink, and have fun! ^^

Im a violinist main a tip for him is if he has his notes try to avoid long valts
Clerk main here! If you’re kiting against clerk or trying to transition to a better area, try not to use windows or go through pallets! She can drop those on you or block the window so she can get closer and hit you. Also when she tries to record you, don’t do any actions, best to try and loop kite her. Otherwise she’ll get two recordings to sue against you. When you’re decoding and she puts a recording on you, stop decoding, and once the recording is about to end, continue decoding. If you let the recording end before you’ve gone back on the cipher, it will block the cipher and you won’t be able to decode for a while. One last thing. If it’s endgame and she records you opening the gate, don’t stop opening it! If you do it’ll block the password thing and give her time to catch up to you. Just keep entering the password.

What survivor should I use to learn how to kite? I play since 4 years but still kite for 10 seconds..
I sometimes use sculptors statues as a speed boost to propel me away. I am a antiquarian main btw.
As a Hastur main, let me point out that you did have a point, getting hit by a basic attack from Hastur is a lot better than getting hit by the tentacle, but there is something I think you should know about kiting him, even if you find a strong pallet, you have to know that a good Hastur will put a tentacle right where that pallet is, which forces you to either leave that pallet or go to it and suddenly change your direction to waste his tentacle attack, or to dismantle the tentacle, I know he will use that to hit you with a basic attack, that's why you will stop dismantling the tentacle if he seems to be going for a basic attack to put down the pallet, then continue dismantling. If you get downed, tell your team to not rescue you... Believe me, Hastur is a master at chair guarding, and the fact that he got you down quickly means no one can save you, instead they will either speed up your rocketing, or get downed while you are still on the chair. The key to beating Hastur at all is by teamwork and decoding as soon as possible, Hastur is an anti-kiting Hunter, the only thing that will help you in kiting him is playing mind games with him, and keeping a big distance, he can't use tentacles that are too far unless you have been gazed at and you are in range of a tentacle. I hope I helped.

im sorry but i feel like pallet spamming is always bad. on late game there is literally no pallets and it probaly gonna ruin your kite. if youre playing as character what have vaulting and pallet droppinh debuff pallets and end game are very useful and might turn game into win instead of draw or lose
I agree, it happens sometimes where literally what helps me catch up to a survivor is the fact that they thought there were pallets in the area they went to, only to realize that I broke them before, I suggest relying on windows.

also this is out of topic but I feel like if idv hunters played dbd they would be godly. hunters barley have time to down survivors bcs of cipher rush (it literally takes 4-3 minutes for all ciphers to finish) and so many hunters learn lots of tactics and everything and still manage to only get a tie bcs of how op survivors are

You shouldn’t. If you do they will walk through all the pallets, and if u go for a pallet stun you give them phantoms which they use to kill you faster and they can use for camping making it harder for your teammates to rescue
