I haven't heard this song in years & it still brought me to tears. I can't stand parents who do this to their children & blame the child for what they did to them. You may not be able to say anything to them, but you can pick up a phone and call the police, turn them into CPS. DO something to help the children. Don't do nothing that could end up like this cos then it's on you for not doing something that could save the children. Sorry, if i upset anyone, i just can't understand why people hurt children. Children are a gift from God to Love & Nurture, NOT to hurt them or do worse.

I’m familiar with Martina and her beautiful voice! It’s been a long time since I’ve listened to Country Music radio. I got chills when I saw the police and the ambulance in the yard. It upsets me how anyone could see bruises on a child, and obvious bruises like finger marks from an adult, and not report it to the police. This was so hard to watch. This was a heart-wrenching video. I did feel a sense of peace when the boy greeted her and they met up with other children who were angels! You made some very valid points and observations.

Yeah, this one is a punch to the heart. The biggest kick is how the same chorus lyrics that have been playing throughout the song (including the title "Concrete Angel") take on an entirely different meaning in the final verse - going from the little girl spending every day desperately trying to dissociate from her horrible life, to her (concrete) headstone being all that's left of her on earth as her soul finally escapes to Heaven.

Concrete Angel is based on a true story. Martina's own neice was beaten to death by her mother when the neice's father left the mother. Martina was on tour at the time and didn't notice what was going on. The beating got gradually worse until she was beaten to death one night. All proceeds from sales of this song go to a charity for child abuse victims.

A lot of children die this way across America and around the world. "The teacher sees but she doesn't ask." yea, that's exactly how it happens. People see the bruises, hear the screams, and turn away because it's "none of our business." and a child grows up broken or doesn't get a chance to grow up at all. I managed to survive the monsters that were my parents. But when I was little I wished that they would kill me so it could stop. Just because you don't know them, or it's not your family, or IS your family...if you see it happening do something. Don't just turn away. That child might be dead by tomorrow if you stay silent...

I love every song by Martina McBride that I've ever heard, I'm not sure she has any bad songs, if she does then I just don't know them I guess and there's so many beautiful ones by her but this one gets me every single time, doesn't matter how many times I hear it, you just never can become immune to it I suppose, I cry like an absolute baby every single time I hear it. I just can't help it, I think of my own children, what I would do if someone ever hurt one of them or tried to and then I think about other children and the fact that this kind of thing happens, all the time, like actually happens to these little beautiful gifts from God, people actually do this to their own children and it breaks my heart every single time I think about it. I just cannot wrap my head around the idea that someone could look at the innocent face of a child and even consider hurting them in any way, any child but especially their own child and especially the mother of that child, fathers too, it's just as bad when it's a father but it's different when it's a mother, it seems almost like it's worse somehow if it's the mother, that's not to say that it isn't still absolutely horrific if it's the father but if you're that child's mother then you've carried that child within your own womb, you gave birth to that child and then to treat them anything like this, I just can't understand what could possibly go through a person's mind that would cause them to do anything like that, I don't know, I guess there's not too much I can say about it really other than I just do not understand it at all.

Being a parent is the most difficult most important job we do in our lives. We bring our children into the world and our job is to care for them, love them and let them know the world is theirs if they work for it. We teach by example by working hard and providing for their material as well as emotional needs. Then we let them go off to live for themselves and learn life's lessons hoping we showed them enough to get past the hard spots. You never stop caring for and loving your children. You are right that no one owes a parent anything...they have taken on the job and do it in the best way possible. My son is a meth and heroin addict and I worry about the call no parent wants every day. To parents out there that think "my child would never do that" or "my kid wasn't raised that way"...neither was mine. Love them but educate yourself to know what to look for and always be watchful. They are our future...guard them carefully. Now child abuse against a young child should be answered in the same way as it is meted out. If I saw a parent doing this to a child I would beat them down...Im not that big but a bat would even things out...punishment in kind. If you see or think abuse is there report it.

I remember seeing this when I was really young, I watched it in a library I was probably about 10 years old and it absolutely ruined me like Jesus Christ that scarred me for a while

You also did "Alyssa Lies" by Jason Michael Carroll about the issue of domestic violence against children. Thanks so much for these sensitive reactions. Your subscribers should check that video you did

The boy was her guardian angle. He was there to make sure she wasn’t alone and to help guide her to heaven. All the other kids are angels that went through similar situations. That is how I interrupted the video with the song.
