Games like this really showcase just how great of an all-around player Ray Allen was! It also shows why so many ppl still think he’s the 3-point king: he plays the majority of the game inside the arch, & only shoots 3s when he the game opens up but is still deadly accurate. Ray has said in the past that if he put up 5-6 3s in a game, that would have been a good night for him. So if he played in today’s NBA, Steph Curry would have some deadly serious competition for that title!

I know Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and a whole host of newer generation players have beautiful jump shots but to me Ray Allen still has the prettiest looking jumper of all time. amazing elevation, flawless follow through and perfect balance every time. Miss the guy!

I’ve never heard anyone call Steph’s shooting form pretty. It’s just mind-bogglingly effective. Honestly it’s crazy how some of the GOAT shooters (Curry, Reggie, Harden) have some of the ugliest jump shots.

@@SmoovyNovaFan It is more common (and how it should be taught) to rotate the ball on release. The backspin makes it hang in the air longer before it drops. Some players don't need it though, depends on how you release the ball.

I used to hate the Celtics as a Heat fan but always loved Ray. One of my all time favorite players. I remember my level of excitement when we signed Ray was close to the level or when we landed Shaq and Lebron. @Jesus Shuttlesworth yea he averaged quit a lot of points but never too much because he still got help from rashard lewis and lewis averaged nearly 20 for a few seasons in the sonics, if he was in one of those garbage team like Tmac's Magic or Kobe's lakers with a bunch of clowns he 100% would average 30+ easily back then. In boston he became third option and only do catch and shoot pretty much, in sonics he had the ball in his hand most of the time, and idoits think he can't shoot off the dribble 😂

Of all the C's on that team, Ray gave up the most, changed his game the most, and absolutely ran the most to get them wins - my man stepped up his D to career levels, and ran about 5 miles a game for looks. The conditioning was almost as good as his touch.
