I will stand by my words even with the hindsight of having played all these matches. Storm doesn't need storm cards to win, it just makes it a lot easier.
Hey Caleb :D Thanks for all your content. The quality, the quantity and just you as a creator are amazing. I don't even remember how i found you like... probably half a year back or so but i have been enjoying your videos so much so really: Thanks a bunch. Keep on, you are definitely one of the best!
second opponent punted the match. Wisperwood sacs as instant, he could have sacced the damm thing and went to 8 cards in library against the memory jar
I really like the fact that you say always "uuuuh" no matter how bad the pack is :D i mean there is no real bad card in this cube, but i think you know what i mean. And still you just found always something that you like. Never loose your good vibes please!
That may have been the most intense game of magic round 2. I skipped ahead after they used Beast Within to kill Electromancer because I thought the game was over. When I saw you side boarding for game 3 I was like "how in the hell did he win this game??" Great content!
This was my favorite iteration of this deck so far. I don’t know if it’s the most nutted, but most the interactions being redcentric was awesome. Wish we could have seen that Goblin Welder do big things.
Goblin Darkdwellers is pretty darn good in these type of decks. Especially with Seething Song and the fact that you saw it so late pack 3 and didn't register it.
I like to pause your videos before each pick, and we had the same pick up until the Dark Petition/Lotus Bloom pick. I would have taken the Petition, but I respect thet pick. I'll let you know how much we agree in pack 2 and 3!
Last pack I would have taken the Brain Freeze. I don't really understand why you say it's a bad wincon? In a UR deck, surely it's a lot better than tokens? Is it because you already have Mind's Desire and can win off TYS? Seems loose without an Eldrazi?
You should try control sometime. Sweepers wreck white red and green, counterspells wreck combo and ramp into ugin type effects or straight up man lands to turn the corner have been very effective.
Caleb Gannon heck yeah I’ll give it a look. I just say so because I trophyd a league with 4c control and just dumpstered white aggro green and black reanimator. Idk if it’s just a phase in cube this time but sweeper interactions have been incredible alongside counterspell as it just covers almost angles. Then again it could have just been the multiple occurrences of Ancrestral Recall->Expansion to draw 6 for 3 mana. There’s just something so satisfying about being on the play and counterspelling a channel blightsteel then game 2 brainstorm bonfire 4 mana dorks. So many of those busted combos/fast mana are just incredibly weak to permission.
In the game at 21:50 i feel like you could have waited to brain freeze until after you tapped memory jar? The logic there is that you leave gilded lotus untapped, cast your burst lightning. now you just need 1 more storm to kill. so tap memory jar, find one of your two moxes which are a more likely hit than the single wheel of fortune. then go to your endstep, get your brain freeze back and tap gilded lotus to cast it
I personally feel like you should have taken Gifts Ungiven instead of TYS. TYS is sweet and all, but it takes a lot of setup, and it isn’t great if you don’t have the right cards to pair with it afterwards. Gifts with electroman is a lot of the time just a one card win con on turn 4 (gifts turn 3 for ritual, ritual, PiF, win con/tutor effect). Having said that, you only had one real ritual at that point (even though manamorphose and frantic search are kind of rituals with electroman), and no storm win con, so I guess my argument isn’t as strong, but I would’ve taken gifts. It has won me too many games singlehandedly in storm in the cube for me to pass it up when I already have PiF. EDIT: Game 1 of Round 2 is a great example of how Gifts would’ve been much better. You scried TYS to the bottom but if it had been gifts, I would’ve topped it, hoping for a land to Gifts turn 3 for ritual, manamorphose, frantic search, brain freeze. Then just PiF all that good stuff back the next turn. You could even Mind’s Desire to try and get more mana/wheel effects to ensure you could close out with Brain Freeze. That’s a turn 4 win. Idk, maybe I like gifts too much haha.
lol my dude, I run a youtube channel that's almost entirely cube drafts. I meant delta doesn't do much in our deck right now, since manamorphose is just better fixing that ups the storm count and is broken with electromancer and thousand year storm.
the real reason is that I imagine people are more likely to click when they see the word mox. Moxen is much less recognizable. So even though its grammatically incorrect, I think it works better
@@CalebGannon I conjecture that your average time between rounds affects your chances of being mirror matched. I hypothesize that if you queue right away you'll be paired against someone in your own pod that's likely not a mirror match.
yeah that makes sense to me. Also I conjecture that everyone drafts monogreen because they don't know how to draft anything else, so if you draft green you're gonna get mirror matches by default
loved this deck! my favorite card of all time is mind's desire so this was special to me, loved this beautiful UR storm. feel free draft my cube if you want to have fun: www.cubetutor.com/user/pvmplvnv

@@CalebGannon fast foward to 2020 when brainfreeze is your favorite wincon lol
@@daltonbrasier5491 it's definitely worse than tendrils. I just like it because its on color for the high tide decks
@@CalebGannon Smh we all know memory jar is your favorite storm wincon
Video titled "back to back mox", Caleb saying "our mana is pretty bad", it is almost like poetry. Like always, another great vid.

I haven't watched g3 yet but you better win. Justice demands it

oof yeah they did

37:20 I cannot stop wondering why you didn’t just kill the Karn with that kicked Burst Lightning... 😧
Very nice deck and some awesome wins!
Wow that means a lot coming from you! :) You were my favorite MTG creator to watch back when you were allowed to draft
Your second round was bananas. So fun to watch!!
round 2 game 2 is some of the best topdecks ive ever seen lmao
It's a pleasure to watch you pick and play! Cheers from Germany 😉👍🏻
Cheers! :)
Holy Crap. That was a deck!
Likely, the best deck yet this version of vintage cube. Well played! that justice game 2 was pretty funny to say the least :D
I think the blue black reanimator was better, but this one was definitely more fun :)
This was my favorite iteration of this deck so far. I don’t know if it’s the most nutted, but most the interactions being redcentric was awesome. Wish we could have seen that Goblin Welder do big things.
Crazy how a lot of Calebs are good at storming
R2G2 you trust in the heart of the cards. Called the perfect draw 2 times in a row!!!
Ok this is the spiciest cube deck I've seen in a while
Goblin Darkdwellers is pretty darn good in these type of decks. Especially with Seething Song and the fact that you saw it so late pack 3 and didn't register it.
I think that's only the case if the body is relevant, as darkdwellers getting back seething song is basically just a 0 mana creature.
That game 2 had me sweating! Manamorphose coming in clutch lol sick plays man keep up the good work!
haha yeah the deck gave us our justice :)
I love watching you play storm. Can't get enough of it. Keep being awesome 👍🏼😀
LMAOOOO justice served ahahah. You litterally drew the one card that saved you xD
It's been a while since I've seen you have this much fun in a video. I feel like it has to do with the lack of channel on the other side of the table.
almost like they should remove it ;) haha
I’m writing this before the games, I think i would cut the metalworker for the mana flare. Cool deck cool draft
Plural of Mox according to WotC product text: "Moxes"

Pack two I thought you would take the Chandra for sure! For me it was either that or Mana Confluence actually.
Last pack I would have taken the Brain Freeze. I don't really understand why you say it's a bad wincon? In a UR deck, surely it's a lot better than tokens? Is it because you already have Mind's Desire and can win off TYS? Seems loose without an Eldrazi?

I've drafted control a couple times! I think this deck was very close to the complete chokehold lol czcams.com/video/cMiBrAl6O44/video.html

That was so cool ! Nice video like always !

thanks :)
Your deck is just a competitive Vintage deck
yeah basically lol
I love your Vintage builds! (But WAR limited is fun too)
thanks! ^_^ and yeah I like WAR too, its unfortunate they killed it by releasing vintage cube so early :/

Oh My God What Was This Draft? :O

Game one instead of taking Memory Jar you could have taken TYS for 25 copies of Brian Freeze

I took tys because we needed a win condition, we had plenty of card draw already ;)
Drafted with you yesterday! You passed a Grim Monolith and then a Basalt Monolith, and I went 3-0 because of it :p I had P1P1 Mana Crypt
woah haha nice! although I don't think I passed those two cards yesterday, so maybe I was getting passed cards from you? :p
@@CalebGannon Hmm...it did seem out of character for you to pass those :P
well yesterday I drafted this deck and a mono red deck that i'll upload sometime in the next few days. So maybe you'll remember the packs

I really enjoyed it too :)
Storm draft never gets old
First storm yeah wooo
wooo!
WHy are you playing metalworker?
17:40 why didnt opponent attack with the mother
No London Mulligan how old is this video?
IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN VOLCANIC
not sure if you saw how much work memory jar did lol
Watching the second round opponent just die instead of sacing Whisperwood was a bit tilting.
In match two your sphinx copy would have decked you
sphinx is a may
1:04:00 i guess you could say that was an... impulsive play...
10/10 comment right there
"Poluted Delta doesn't do much"
Bro clearly you don't cube often lands are like the best.
