I am always touched by the humility of this great man...
I was here seated in the back and I hope Tibet will one day have an autonomous state or country. One day HH Dalia Lama Tenzin Gyatso 14th can return to his hometown, capitol, and possibly reside back in Tibet peacefully. Diplomacy, COMPASSION, and Forgiveness is what the Dalai Lama has always preached. SAVE TIBET!!!
What a great person the Dalai Lama is, I should hope more people can aspire to be as wonderful as he is.
It was the best all day event that I've ever had. It was beyond inspiring to be in his presence and to hear him speak with so much humor and humbleness. He is my favorite human rights activist.
I was blessed to have been here that day...he is such an amazing man!! Love him !! Long live His Holiness!!!

I wish I had known of this event and had been there. I hope to meet him one day. One guy who is truly advocating for humanity. I love how he always seems to squeeze in the importance of internal beauty, something especially important in todays society.

Educational institutions should take care of moral or 'spiritual' development in conjunction with intellectual development. Real intellectual development is a function of moral consciousness or 'conscience'. Application of knowledge without developed conscience can be potentially dangerous.

우리는 형제가 5명이지만 나는 아무하고도 정이없다. 같이 놀던 기억이 조금도없다.단지 기억나는건 여동생은 9살이 다 되도록 대소변도 못가리고 앉아서 엉덩이만 뜰석뜰석해서
놀림감이었고 학교도 9살에 갔다 언니는 나보다 두살위인데 어릴적 항상 노오란 코를 흘렸고 숨을 들이키면 그 노오란 코가 코속을 들어갔다 내려왔다 했고 성장 속도가 느렸다
시대를 잘못 태어나서 최종 국민학교(현재 초등학교)졸업해서 남의집 식모살이, 공장을 전전했다. 그런데 엊그제 통화중에 나한테 "집도 없는것이 우리나라에서 최고 고급 동네에 산다"고
비아냥 거린다. 그리고 자신은 전라도 광주 자신의 아파트 동에서 동장이라 자랑한다. ㅎ 나한테 보내온 엊그제 반찬도 참 맛있더라만, ㅎ지금은 으시대는것 보니 상당히 똑똑한거같다ㅎㅎ
어릴적 어느날 생각이 눈앞에서 아롱거린다. 정읍가는 길에 왼쪽에 아주 큰 저수지가 있었는데 그때 물을 쪼오옥 빼던날 악착같은 나는 푸댓자루로 어른 주먹보다 큰조개를 가득 눌러서 담아 머리에 이고 마악 저수지를 빠져 나오려하는데 언니가 푸대에 조개를 가득담아놓고서 머리에 올리지를 못하고 통곡을 하고 울고있다. 나는 남처럼 그냥 지나쳐 왔었는데 요즘 문득 그 광경이 자꾸 머리에 떠올린다. 누구 도움으로 가져왔는지 아니면 그냥 놓고 왔는지가 몹시 궁금하다. ㅎ 나는 형제들과 놀던 기억은 99% 없다 정도 하나도 없다. 그래서 조개담은 푸대자루 앞에서 통곡하는 언니를 남보듯 하며 지나쳐온것같다. 옛날 이야기지만 이제라도 언제 물어봐야겠다. 그 푸대자루 가져왔냐고 말이다. 50년 훨씬 넘은 그 추억이 이제사 안개처럼 피어오른다.
