  • What's changed for ZOWIE in 2022? The video contains a look at their recent upgrades to the C-series mice (V2). Comparisons with the Zowie ZA13-C, EC2-C, FK2-C and S2-C and information as to which of these mice I still think are viable in 2022.

i really like Zowie's attitudes towards all their models: 3 different size with same specifications. Most companies only emphasize their single flagship model without comparable alternatives. maybe good for their business, but surely a lost for customers.

It sounds like you were recommending just trying to get use to ec2 which makes sense because i dont see many pros using ec3 compared to ec2 but figured it was manly a muscle memory comfort thing. currently stuck with old deathadder expert and want to upgrade to something new in the ergo category but maybe a bit smaller.

Just a thought on large mice: I gather from your videos, that you almost always have your fingers touching the mousepad at least a little bit and adjust the pressure as needed. Personally, I can't have any fingers touching the mousepad, like ever. I think this is one of the reasons why, even though my hands are only slightly larger than yours (about 20x20), half the mice you prefer just aren't options for me because of their relatively small size.

They can't iterate fast enough. And their recent C line wasn't light enough IMO. The FK1+ and EC1 are still too heavy (for when they launched, and as wired mice) when I compare them with other contemporary mouse considerations, like the GPX or Xlite. .
So I'd say they're losing relevance. It's not a sudden thing, but you can see the slow shift happening. Just look at how many CS pros use Zowie vs 3 years back. It's halved, if not more.

    • @rdmz135

EC1 is a very big mouse. Its light enough for that size, especially without holes. CS pros are moving off of Zowie because wireless is a real game changer for low sens. If Zowie can release new wireless versions, even if they're heavier they'll do well.

Wireless is not the only the reason - their mouse feet, clicks, and wheels are all subpar, and objectively so. The primary reason people stick with them is shape. Enthusiasts want wireless, yes, but not even every pro is an enthusiast. There are many pros that just find a mouse that works and leave it there. But when everyone can see Zowie hasn't changed much in years, it's hard to stay on the bandwagon, even if you are a fan like myself.

There is nothing wrong with the 3360. Plenty of people think it's superior for wired than most modern sensors. Also saying ZOWIE will cheap out on sensor for wireless really says that you do not know/understand the company that well 😂

@@paul2609 The 3360 works perfectly though.
The implementation is 100% more important. I've used modern sensors with either high LOD or terrible implementation.

For me all three the m42, the mz1 and the m4 felt cheap. The clicks on all of my copies where off (even on the mz1 with Kailh GM 8.0) HUGE difference in clickfeel they wore off insanely fast. Mouse2 often actuated accidently.
I rly would have loved to enjoy the mz1 though. Felt weird at first but later was a blast to use.

@@option_n Agree, Xtrfy M4 died in one year, clicks cheap, wheel is trash. Bought Outset AX after it and quality is on another level.

      @@option_n I agree.
The M42, no matter how much I play with the mouse I can't seem to like it.
It's an aggressive claw only mouse, clicks, shell with holes, feets, cable, all of it feels bad. Idk how they've done that I'm usually not picky with mice at all as I learned on good cheap steelseries mice like the rival 110 as my main for years.

I'm still maining EC2-C, but the QC on these have gone down many levels... Had problems with EC3-C, EC1-C and also with this EC2, but not too much of a problem.
