  • Mike & Angie are recapping their stay in the Napa Valley! There were more than a few chances for this visit to turn completely upside down, but thanks to some wonderful friends, it was a great stay in wine country!
    WHERE TO STAY:
The Skinners had no luck finding anywhere that was big-rig friendly. Typically, you'd stay at the fairgrounds if you have a bigger RV, but the Skinners were in town at the same time as the fair. So they called in a favor to park the motorhomes at Sonoma Raceway.
With the buses secure, The Skinners stayed at the Arrowood Winery Guest House. They've stayed before & were excited to take Tom & Laura, and knew the dogs would love the grass & freedom outside of the bus. It was glorious! Until things went a bit sideways... but you'll have to watch the video to find out what happened. Let's just say, it's good to have friends in Napa Valley!
    WHERE TO PLAY PICKLEBALL:
The Napa Pickleball Club. It was awesome! It's located in Yountville and has really nice courts and a beautiful park. The people were so friendly & the Skinner's really enjoyed playing with them.
    WHERE TO VISIT:
The Skinners were spoiled by friends with some pretty spectacular vineyard tours and tastings.
    Del Dotto Vineyards:
This was Mike & Angie's first trip to Del Dotto! After being kicked out of their accommodations that morning, a friend called his friend Dave Del Dotto and secured a private VIP tasting to turn their day around! Known for their beautiful wine caves, the vineyards lives up to the hype! It was magical! Touring with Dave, the Skinners were treated to barrel tastings--trying wine right out of the barrel. 😋 It was a perfect day!
    Altamura Vineyards & Winery:
Skinner's FAVORITE wine! The Skinners joined owner Frank Altamura at the Altamura Ranch for another perfect afternoon. Touring them in a vintage Army Jeep, Frank invited them into his wine cave -- it's more of a 'working' wine cave than at Del Dotto and is not an area normally open to the public. Frank taught them about the grapes, and they enjoyed a delicious lunch while trying some of Altamura's newest releases. đŸ·
    Caymus Vineyards:
Another must-visit on the Skinners' list is Caymus. A longtime partner of Mike's, they stopped by to try out the latest vintages and stock up before leaving -- including a big bottle of the Caymus Zinfandel to share with friends in Sturgis!
    WHERE TO EAT:
The Restaurant at Auberge. The Skinner's friend, Fred Biagi, invited them to enjoy dinner at this restaurant. Looking out over a beautiful view of the Napa Valley below, they enjoyed a few bottles of Fred's award-winning Biagi Cabernet.
Ciccio. Angie's favorite restaurant! Located in downtown Yountville, this gem is owned by Frank & Karen Altamura. The Skinners joined Frank (aka the 'Wine Devil' -- "ah, have some more!") for a perfect meal. This restaurant itself is amazing, but when you get to enjoy it with Frank it's extra special.
Cordeiro's Steakhouse. Cordeiro's Steakhouse is owned by Matt Cordeiro, who was truly Mike & Angie's Napa guardian angel this week! As if bailing them out with a place to stay AND providing them a limo & driver wasn't enough, Matt also invited them to enjoy a meal at his steakhouse. It was amazing. He was amazing. Thank you, Matt!!!

Mike and Angie, this was a great video on Napa. I’ve rv’s there a few times and agree, it needs a rv resort. But truly enjoyed your trip better than any of mine.
