Ever since purchasing the jellyfish palette I have used it almost every time I do my makeup. The finishing powders are truly what I use the most. It even softens and blends the creams and prefer together. It’s my most expensive makeup purchase but worth every penny

As a black woman with medium deep/tan deep skin hourglass’ golden bronze light is my FAVORITE bronzer but it only comes in the ambient lighting palette 2
Have you tried radiant bronze light? It's too dark for me (for reference I'm shade 8 in their foundation)
I want to share smth I think might be useful for hourglass palettes fans. I had conversation with hourglass consumer service outside US, and I was told that hourglass powder doesnt have expiriory date. Like despite of shelf life term they put on packaging u can use it as long as performance and smell doesnt change. Actually, I use my sculpture palette from 2019 till now, and its still same.

I’m not a collector and I regret not buying the Christmas snake palette, but I don’t find these brown girl friendly when I swatched in store so I will have to wait for the holidays and hope they release something more inclusive.
Don’t hold your breath. I got volume three (snake) from holiday and it’s not nearly deep enough for someone darker than me.
I think the tiger palette (not the leopard from last holiday) was better suited for deeper skin tones but you are both right ! Hourglass def needs to be more inclusive ! Chanel got it right finally with their current Le Beige summer collection trio face palettes; they included 2 very deep shades for deeper skin tones & they are stunning ! & Chanel is $95 but it’s a huge oversized, compact that includes highlighter, bronzer, and blush ❤
I hope you do this for every ambient lighting release moving forward this was so helpful. I have a deep skin tone and last years sculpt palette worked for me it seems like this years is for more fair skin tones which is fair plus you made me realize with last years blush palette I don’t need the new one.
The thing is that if you love these palettes and have a smaller collection you can easily use one plaette a year. I'm on the way to use up my second one this year and can't wait to dig into the jellyfish from last year 😍

I have been manifesting for them to release the Soft Light in a single compact like Dim Light and all others. The Soft Light is so perfect finishing powder for my neutral light skin.

I'm new to Hourglass and I think I do neve these from the Christmas palettes BUT... I wanted a back up of these blushes so I did get the blush and glow II. I normally can't afford this type of thing but I will day I think Hourglass blushes are among the best I've tried.

Exactly. Jellyfish was not the least popular as Morgan states. It was the best selling. These brands repeat shades that SELL. (Hello, Pillow Talk and Orgasm?) It's simple math and common sense. And I'm not talking GIRL math lol. It's MBA math.

I love Hourglass face products. Their foundation is my holy grail. I own 5 OR more face palettes. In saying that I had to get the bronzer palette that just launched. The blush palette I own all those shades so actually passed that one. Their finishing powders are a must have. I pray they come with three palettes this holidy, one for fair, one for medium and one for true deep.

Glad you explained how to use the Hourglass face powders. Diffused Heat is one of my favorite blushes, already own the full size one. I'm a collector but I didn't get the Jelly Fish palette .I may buy this one later but probably just wait until the holidays. Thanks for the comparisons!
I buy these palettes and use them daily. I always run out of the bronzer first and have plenty of their old palettes that have only blush remaining. These are very reasonably priced considering Hourglass prices for single powders. I’m definitely getting the bronze one.

The Jellyfish one was actually sold out everywhere as well as the leopard! The snake palette didn't sell out, maybe that's why they didn't release those shades again. 🤔

I saw on IG someone asked were these new shades. I knew they weren't because Hourglass is notorious for repeating shades.
I have a medium tan (MAC NC 43) complexion and did like both Tiger and Snake, but found I wasn't using them much. I purchased singles of Dim Light, Radiant Light, and recently Eternal Light. I use them daily. I panned Radiant Light last week 🧐😲
Very thorough and informative. I only have one repeat, dim light, (lol of course) but I do not need either of these. Maybe a holiday one… I have a Ghost blush quad from a few years ago, and it has shades you don’t see much of in Hourglass any more. There IS a pink, but there’s also a peach, a coral, and an orange, which I would love to have more of from this company!

I find their bronzers are all too orangey for my fair/light skin, so pass on that. Even the Dim light "tans" my skin, which is ok, but not all the time. Wish they had a greater range of shades and undertones and wish they would just let us customize our own palettes... why don't they have that option? I just dont get it. They could charge extra and it would sell 🤷🏻♀️

Yep I have these shades a million times over. My most used hourglass palette is the ghost edit! Some of the shades are flat looking I’ve used it so much. I think I have 5 or 6 of these!

I was so excited, when I saw those new palettes, because I only have the Jellyfish palette and a trio. I recently also bought a single bronzer and blush, because I fell in love with these powders. If I wouldn't own the Jellyfish palette, I would totally pick the blush palette up though ❤
So, you cant buy the holiday palettes with animal covers, but you can buy a new set that has similar colours or same colour for some of them, but just in a plain palette. I might get one, as I didn't like the animal prints.

That's the one I want too. Their previous quad is my favorite! I save it for travel but if I could get another I wouldn't be afraid to use it lol. And I prefer the gold packaging to tin.

Fun fact the last time Hourglass had anything REMOTELY deeper skin friendly was their discontinued Tiger palette that launched back in 2022. They really said thats enough and went right back to catering to paler folks. As someone who loves the ambient powders it is so mortifying seeing a bigger brand get away with blatant exclusion
That was such a good seller, they had snake, which too was a popular. Really makes me think it's repackaged colours from the less popular Xmas palettes

I love the bronzer palette ❤😘😍 it contains the most stunning bronzers & highlighters they have in their collection ! & for me also the finishing powders 😅 incandescent strobe light is from their original OG ambient lighting palette ❤ it’s a stunning lit from within highlighter & the other highlighter is also stunning ! Do I have the shades ? Yes ! But in other separate palettes 😅 I’d love these all in one palette though & I’d travel with it too ❤ le sigh … I can’t get it as I opted for the new Chanel trio face palette but I think if these contain your fave shades it’s worth getting it 😊 just my 2 cents
I have to say thank you, Morgan, for saving me $90 on the blush palette! I don’t have these blush shades, but the reason I don’t have them is bc they are from the lighter holiday palettes. I love HG blushes but can only use their deeper shades, so this would have been a serious waste of money for me. Whew, thanks for sharing and swatching!
I have only one of the Xmas 2022 palettes, the classic ambient trio, the highlighter trio and a couple of single blushes. I feel complete from HG XD

I use them for buffing my makeup after all products have been applied. Some people used them for setting but they just don’t work for me that way. I use a Sonia g buffing brush, any other buffing brush will also work. HG powders work with synthetic and natural hair brushes equally well. Hope this helps.
I miss when you used to be able to make your own ambient lighting palette on their website and choose your own shades to put in them especially now that I’m old enough to afford one and they have expanded their shade ranges and I have my favs but sadly none come in a palette (or are only sold in a palette)

I’m very interested in the bronze palette! I have the trio and a palette with blush bronzer etc. But I find myself not using the blush. I prefer a matte blush and putting the finishing powders over my blush. I am very interested in the matte bronzer as everything else is glowy.
Not only are they very repetitive, but hourglass is also STILL giving a middle finger to people that are darker than a NC30 from mac

@@CherryJuli speaking from experience with a lot of those shades and palettes from hourglass, no they don't. People with dark skintones deserve products that are catered to their skin color, and not settle for a $90 palette in which maybe 1 color will work, but the other 5 will be nothing but a very light wash on their skin
Agree that they have a strange choice of shades ... I have fair/light skin and most of their powder and blush products are weirdly too dark for me and the bronzers pull too orange. They should have a wider range of both shades and undertones... wish you could just customize your own palette!
@@kouzelniceSame I'm fair skinned. These pallets are made for neutral/medium skin tones only. If you're too light or too dark can't use it.
I only have one hourgalss palette and it is the one with the cheetah with black packaging. I am tempted to get the blush palette but i have not made my final decision yet.

But besides more deeper colours added, i think it would be great if we all could choose ourselves! We could already choose what we wanted, last year, the covers, including the cute owl. But i want to customize the colours of all palettes WITH ENOUGH DEEPER SHADES ADDED, completed with cute covers to support the animals. I always look at these palettes due to the value (high cost of the individual powders), but the curation of the shades never quite works for me. So I have yet to try Hourglass
