This is the BETA, because the game is not yet finished. So there could be problems and bugs with the game. The work is still in progress.

Cool game and great video! Only I wish they removed some of the peasants' colourful clothes. Dyes would be too expensive during those times unless the person was rich.
Yes, you are totally right. Color was only for the rich. Maybe they ignored that fact so the NPCs doesn't look so boring.

I kind of skipped around in the video, do you get to customize your character?
Thatsbananas Unfortunately you can't customize the appearance or gender of your character. You can change the basic skills the character starts off with but this is only for the beta. As far as I can tell you will not be able to customize your character in the final release. :/

Haven't been following this game long but I am very excited for it. Still a bit iffy but I am hopeful. Hope we get another stream from the developers soon. Would love to updated footage.

how often does this game crash? And is getting the beta worth it?
I would say once every ten hours. But it it hard to say how often it would crash on your machine. Some people can play it very long without any crashes, some can not even start it.
I would say wait for tomorrow, they will give out the release date. Maybe now you should wait for the finished version. They're not working on the BETA anymore. Just watch my Let's Plays and you won't miss anything :D

My advice to them is to not rush to get this game out at all like Sega did for Rome II Total War, no matter how bad people want it. There are LOTS of kinks to work out

How about the optimization of this game ? i see you run it on a 1050, but is it maxxed out ?
It sucks a lot of graphic power. I tried to run it on high settings, but the fps are to low with that setting. But I think it's a beta thing. In the finished version it will run more smooth and with higher fps. Then I can play in high, maybe even ultra :)
my 1070 is on the way

What setting are you using and what FPS do you get currently , I have a AMD FX 8530 and GTX 1060 and I am getting around 22 FPS on Medium when on the horse at the beginnig

This is the PC version. The beta is only out on PC. But the finished game will come out on PS4 and Xbox One

Ganz genau, ich bin ein Deutscher. Ich lebe auch in Deutschland. Ich mache dieses Let's Play auf Englisch weil ich es mit Elena zusammen spiele und sie spricht kein Deutsch.

BertinDoutnik but the game is actually about the Kingdom of Bohemia which is more or krs the whole czech republic minus silesia :DDD

I'm still waiting for the perfect gritty "High-low" fantasy like Game of THrones-ish RPG.
GoT has a lot of fantasy in it, but KCD not. KCD is more a realistic game, dungeons but no dragons. I love GoT, but I'm glad that this game isn't like this show, because then it would be WAY more dialog, naked men and less action :D

Oh my, I take that as very big compliment :). I wish I would be in their team. No, I bought the game and I'm just a super big fan of this game. I informed myself a lot before I did this let's play. You could say, I'm a KCD fanboy.

Your CPU is a little to slow, i5 or i7 would be better. Warhorse Studios says a quad core is minimum. I don't know so much about AMD Hardware. Ask your question in the KCD forum. I'm pretty sure they will help you there forum.kingdomcomerpg.com/

I have an i7 4790s / GTX 750 / 16G of Ram and on lowest settings I get between 10-20 FPS. We almost have the same hardware, did you do anything specific to get it to run so smoothly ?
Your CPU and your RAM is way better then mine. But not the graphic card. The GTX 1050 Ti isn't the fastest, but a very new one. I think that's your problem, the GTX 750 is to old. But this is just an idea, because I'm not a GraCa expert.

Not in the beta. I don't know if it's possible in the finished version.
Animations look better than Mass Effect Andromeda's and it's only in beta.
+John Connor KCD has super great Cutscenes. They recorded all of them with motion capturing and in the finished version with professional actors. You can not compare that the Mass Effect, because the animations there are just an algorithm. That's why, sometimes the cutscenes look super funny, or dumb.
Something I think I should point out, you know how you're standing there with the game running while you talk? Well, in most cases, that'd be fine. But that's not how KCD works; every second you spend in the game, the story progresses, whether you're there or not; it's possible to miss out on the entire game by dallying off somewhere else.
Yeah, you are right. I never talked about this feature. But in the BETA you already see that this ins not always standard. Like when I found Reeky. The game triggers a special event, because every time after I found him, the guys from the (Neuhoff) gang find Reeky as well.

I wouldn't have minded this play through yes faces aren't the best. But I'm more for the story manly if we got act 2-3 but it was removed after this or at the end of the first game.

But in the future, they will get there with betas on consoles as well. There is a game coming for PS4, they said, when you pre-order, you can get early access. But anyway, PCs always have the benefit of a bigger variety of games, because it's easier to code for this platform.

A squier its a knight under training. Most likely his father is a vasal to the knight he is being trained by and also is a landlord. GOT teaches you bullshit.

I totally get you. I played Witcher 3 for a super long time as well. Henry will look better in the finished game. But anyway, no one will look so cool like Geralt of Rivia :)
To be fair, nobody can match how cool Geralt of Rivia is.
Jack J He seemed very bland to me as well, but over time Henry's appearance and voice grew on me. The newest version features a different character entirely, physically and vocally I mean. I'm sure I will learn to love the new Henry when I play the game. :)

Played the Beta for 1 week. Games going to flop if they don't reassess their control scheme. For Honor does it this style INFINITELY more fluently. If the controls get fixed before release theirs hope. The open world looks great, the NPC's however look like complete garbage hopefully those change too. The main character is super bland as well, all around unimpressive beta. Well see what the controls look like closer to release but i wouldn't get my hopes up for this.
+Lil OnionRings I can live with the controlls. For me it feels like every game has new controlls, especially on PC. The consols solved this problem way better. But still. When I played Nioh I expected the Dark Soula controlls but they where completely new. I hated it. A friend of mine loved the Nioh controlls and had big problems with Dark Souls. It's just subjective thing.
Henry already looks better/different in the internal alpha.
And yes, a lot of NPCs do strange stuff or nothing. But come on, it's a beta they don't focus on the NPCs now
Yeah, I can forgive the the graphical faults and bugs for now. But as a beta it was still unimpressive IMO. The core combat system is flawed without a proper lock on, target switch, or a properly working dodge and counter mechanic. The ones implemented now just feel broken, clunky and lacking. Now things could change, but with the recent increase of half finished games being published I can't help but to express my concern.
Lil OnionRings It's been delayed until 2018. So maybe they will fix these issues. I wont know for sure until I play it myself

This is not the finished version. They are recording everything new, with real actors, not like in the beta.
The person commenting in the background is very annoying.
The facial animations look bad. Really bad.
Don't forget, this is the BETA. In the done version the cut scenes are completely new

Mirko Kay I think in this age of gaming people are used to having games with better graphics. They aren't BAD, but your graphics are high surely? The textures are just lacking, on the floor, on faces, on the horse for example. The horse looks worse than one from red dead redemption, and that's a 7 year old game... I'd rather they delay it some more and make them better. Graphics are important to people the last thing we want is the game burying the company on release
Mirko Kay it also looks too clean, there's no dirt textures, on the side of buildings for example. The water looks non-existent also

Voice acting is laughable
They've already recorded all the cut scenes with real actors. You will see/hear this in the final version. What you hear is just BETA amateur voice acting. Of course they will change that.
