This is complete beginner's walkthrough and guide to what you should be doing in your first hour of playing the game. We'll cover base building and camp improvement, resource managing, recruitment, warfare, upgrades and promotions, so that you can best prepare yourself for the trials to come!

I think I'll be getting this game over the next couple of weeks. I'd like to see them add shield wall formations and the like but the game already looks like a lot of fun.
Definitely, anything to flesh things out would be amazing! I know they're already planning a whole lot of stuff, there's a roadmap on Steam you can check out even :)
You should wait more than that. The current game has couple hours of content only.

One thing which you didn't mention in this tutorial which I found very important in first few play throughs is to pay attention to settlement size, waystations, farms, hamlets and villages, all have different amounts of defenders, and in the early game you should not attack villages. (like I did on one of my first playthroughs and got massacred)

I love the armour and set dressing, I don't care what anyone says about the blank pawn aesthetic. I think in some ways it fits the gameplay. There's a lot of cycling through your legionaries and the warbands of native foes from what I can see... You wouldn't want to get too attached by humanizing them lol 😅
Ok wow this game is very interesting. I can see why you like it. The management and the way the game drives you to keep progressing is good. Some things are tricky to work out but once you work out the basics it's a decent game. A lot of fun
I hate it when the rain happens it is too frequent, every freaking 1-3 minutes of rain time later it rains again and it is fine if it rains but I can't see shit! I keep losing my guys because of it.
Need shield bash, formations and movement, controlling separate cohorts with an easier control than the arrow keys, so we can use better tactics. Hopefully later on staying as a unit will help more in fights than it does right now (I’m sure it will be) can’t wait for archers and auxiliaries!!!!!!! More build option will be amazing also! Awesome roadmap! If you haven’t seen it yet get on it!

Game is great! Even more updates would make it even better like better tools (only just got the game).
Make sure you guys kill nobles and VIPs to lower unrest in your captured areas or a big warband (raiding party) will attack you. Also understand you can’t really expand your cohorts until certain amount of days are under your officers belts to be promoted. Then you promote and you will be able to use more cohorts troops etc
That's the issue I'm in right now. Lost both my legions and I have to wait two days to get back to full strength, and I just don't think I can do it now. It's really annoying

Hello! i just bought the game, aaaand i have some smal issues. the game is starting, but allways stays on a white screenwith the tilte screen music. uhh do you know how to fix that?
And if i recall from your previous videos we can have up to 8 or 10 Century (regiments) in are Legion (army) so thats 2100 men. Yeah thats about the size of a full legion.
Yeah but, here, it’s minimized, so there’s 21 men per century, so that times 9 or something like that :)

I bought the game after watching this video:) sadly my camp was raided and I spend all the gold on soldier to protect my camp :(. I had to restart;( twice : (. But the third try I started understanding the raids and not to attack villages but waystation instead as they invite some people with gold😈and silver .......yeah you know what I did to them. For me I will rate this game a 10/10. And ps I didn't know you should press tab so the first 2 games I didn't use the tab button and I didn't read the tips on how to play the game.

Hi! The game has been updated, so the manage menu and the legion menu has been merged, it will be explained in a video tomorrow :)

They updated the GUI for the legion and don't give an explanation on where to assign workers.

uh
when u disband legion, there are little slider thingies, you can lower the amount of soldiers and increase the amount of workers. any soldiers that were toggled onto guards/workers tab are automatically made guards, but the bottom toggle can have more or less workers

Time to get a new PC I'm afraid. The minimum settings shouldn't be taxing on any rig bought within the last 5 years or so!

This tutorial is outdated, have just bought the game and the tabs to assign workers are not present. I have searched the game manuals and the internet high and low, and cannot for the life of me fathom how to create or assign workers. Have been milling about the start for an hour and cannot do anything. What the hell?

This game is... hard.
Im not mad at it yet, but its definitely not beginner friendly lol.
The century recruiting system is my biggest gripe at the moment. Ive got a few farms, waystations and a hamlet under my belt. I had 2 centuries, and then a raid happened. I beat the raid, only to he hit in the rear by a 70 strength warband. Lost both of my centuries entirely, then spent almost all my gold buying 2 new legions worth of recruits in my camp to fight them off. Now im stuck in enemy territory back at square one, with a green partial strength legion and because i cant fully upgrade anyone in it, i cant recruit the other legion. So i cant win by numbers or quality now. I feel like trashing the game and starting over. Idk, it seems like one major defeat early on is a game ender and i dont much like that

Is it me or the game is not well optimized? I mean, it has nice graphics but they are not gold and you need a really good graphic card, i cant play it on my notebook
It plays very smoothly on my gaming laptop, and I've yet to see any real performance issues, so no, I'd say it runs well! Your notebook might not have a dedicated GPU though, so that might be why?
i have a radeon rx 570 series i run it at very high with 50 to 40 fps
@@AndysTake yes, it might be that. Its weird because i run rome 2 total war in medium so i thought this game should work as well, and even on low it is unplayable
updated is very bad, manag tab was more easy and comfortable

just bought this game, and i'm so lost i have no "manage" menu in my tab menu, so i have no idea how to make these dumbass legionarys build anything
Refunded the game, it really needs to be polished as of now it gets boring and repetitive quickly.
