Half term craziness at Ludham Bridge!

- What a fabulous day filming, it was so busy and there’s plenty to enjoy considering it’s nearly the end of the season! I took so much footage that this video will be in two parts! I hope you enjoy. There were certainly a lot of boats about. I think they were all enjoying the sun and making the most of it. Most definitely a couple of bumps near you! It is always great to see onlookers encouraging those who are unsure to get under the bridge. Have a great week.
Thing is if you want to drive a car you need lessons and you need to take a test. If you want to fly a plane you need even more lessons and even more tests. Hire a boat on the Broads and you get ten minutes with the hire company if you’re lucky.
Any fatalities you can think of?
Don’t tell the renters this or the river police but if you get a good run up at full throttle blast the horn for most of the manoeuvre, she’ll dig into the water and give you a couple more inches headroom.
Massive ships do exactly this using Bernoulli's principle.

There’s a big sign up on the bridge say to sound horn but didn’t hear many doing it ?
Can they not read ? Couldn’t be bothered ? Or do t know why they should ? Maybe one day someone will discover the reason 😁

Approaching at speed will draw the hull down due to Bernoulli's principle giving more clearance. Just line up and gun the throttle. The more concerned you wont make it under, the more speed you need.

If you can’t pass through that bridge ( it’s only about 15 ft if that ) without someone using a guide pole to stop you colliding with the side then I’d stick with a caravan 🤣🤣🤣
I was out on the Bure paddling this week and had my closest near miss of the year with a day boat, he couldn't keep it straight and was on my side of the river. I hugged the bank.
Not good! Always avoid a day boat!
A mate of mine was a bridge pilot at Wroxham and every week he had a new story of disasters caused by people who refused to use his service, not uncommon for sliding roofs to be ripped off

there was some close calls there , i think they build boats far too big , & far too high , but it was nice to see both melodies get through , yey lol .
Yes 🙌 it was a great day filming. The way the water is rising, it might be time for the yards to rethink their boat designs
I suppose you don't see people fending off with a pole on the Broads because most boats have bow thrusters. I have got a yardbrush on my narrowboat ... invaluable for my wife to use to push the boat's nose out from the bank when I am pulling away. She also uses it when we are between lock gates to hold off any small boats that are in there with us...don't want want to squish the tiddlers with the 18 ton of narrowboat ! When my wife has done with all her fending she can still use the broom to sweep the deck !

I have watched the lady you tuber on a regular basis for years but most of the time she wont add sub titles. With people like me with hearing difficulties need the sub titles to understand whats being said. I have subscribed for the time being but you will have to add the subtitles. But see hown you go on. If they are not added in some future videos then i can cancel.
