#gaming #yames #horror - Hry
I love imagining a therapist being told about real murders and kidnapping and just being like "mmm yes this is very deep and likely reflects some kind of trauma within you."
Mine does that
so did mines
That is literally how they would have to respond! Lol
555 👍
my old therapist has said something along those lines.
god, i love when you guys play weird horror games and it always ends up like:
dan: what is this? this is so weird. what even is this game? why are we playing this?
arin: what's wrong? nothing's wrong. nothing's happening. we're just growing grandpa, he just needs food in his olfactory mouth hole!
Yeah plus it shows us something new too. 🤗
youre SO RIGHT
Uhh, you mean his olfactory BULBS?? Grandpa deserves to have its viscera neurologically fermented to induce proper recantation BY memory, thank you ✋
Dan’s sheer terror and Arin constantly being in denial is probably my favorite part of this entire channel
@@squishyty918 Lmao, no one is the "supportive rock" whenever things get spoopy on Game Grumps. Actually, maybe Allie can take on that role.
Arin tripping over a ladder is such an arin moment
Better advertising than any AAA company
Yes but we love him for it 😂
Arin's big "Uh-oh Stepladder" moment.
my favorite part was the "Jackets
Kind of had a feeling he'd do that.
29:16 I love that Arin is still bitter over Helena almost a decade later 😂
I decided to look, and yeah, those came out 7 years ago, holy crap...
I feel so old
SHE CAN MAKE TEA WITH HER FREINDS
NOT MEEE OBVIOUSLYYYY
Wow that's really a long time! XD
What game is that from?
@@slenguyen it was like a beach volleyball dating sim that they played
I unironically want a full playthrough of this, I have never heard of this game before but I wanna see the Grumps grow and care for their very own Grandpa
He’d be their grumpa
The Grumps absolutely need to go through the other Yames games, even if we have to wait for Ghoul Grumps.
Petition to extend Ghoul Grump into all of October.
@@HeyEverybodyJesseHere Seconded! At least themed wise, they don't necessarily have to play super scary games each day, just fun halloween ones.
Halloween is just around the corner.
I still want them to play Night Of The Consumers!!
Yes! I love the uncomfortable weird vibes from these games, and how it’s played off as normal by some characters in the game.
Just a good ol game about growing granpy. :)
This is my favorite type of horror so far, something that isn’t jump scary but just deeply unnerving.
I love it when they play obscure titles.
This game creator is pretty good at making uncomfortable games like this! They’re great.
does anyone have any game recs similar to this one?
@@kelseybarton kitty horrorshow's games like Anatomy are pretty good so is Paratopic which the grumps just played a day or two ago.
I completely agree. These types of horror movies are my favorite as well.
JFC, I checked steam because something felt off just by that tutorial text alone... it's made by Yames. Oh god oh fuck. The same genius who made Discover My Body. This game is going to be a nightmare in disguise I can tell.
Wow for real?? I'm excited to see where this goes now! Discover My Body was so good
Doesn’t seem very disguised to me
Uh oh... that game made me feel so uncomfortable
OH ITS THAT ARTIST HOLY SHIT THAT EXPLAINS IT
The Rumor Come Out: Does Arin Is Shorter Than Dan?
Do you still believe or Not?
"Jackets"
Arin's nasty rumor...
it is the most discussed in the media in the few years ago.
The world may never know.
i’m begging on my knees for an entire play through i have to see grandpa fully grown
WISH for FULL_PLAYTHROUGH
I have to disagree. This is barely a game. It was super boring to watch. I can just look up the ending(s).
@@thebananas6483 Yames has a very specific type of game they like to make. Usually slow paced and deeply unsettling; set in odd and unsual futures. I really enjoy their games since they're so expansive and leave you questioning what just happened
@@thebananas6483 i find it the complete opposite, very interesting and almost SPC-esque, so to each their own i guess.

“Is this Grand Theft Auto V?”
This video is so good.
Reminds me of the song NSP tried to write, but didn't: "You Say Tomato, I Say What Are You Doing In My House"
@@adammckay3299 goddamnit I wanted to make that joke
@@adammckay3299 You are so absolutely correct
That was the best moment.
Arin continuing his never-ending quest to give every single female character ever the worst conceivable voice.
The scariest about this was Arin's heavy ass finger.
He’s so...
HEAVYYYYY
30:18 Arin mentioned the UI being laid out like a cooking simulator.
Now I officially require him to play Cooking Simulator while Dan laughs every time Arin breaks a plate.
0:09 This is how tall Arin is according to the animators
"Keep an open mind about using your hand" Definitely not a phrase you wanna hear in a game about Grandpa.
One of the things I love about Arin is when he laughs at his own jokes!
You cant help but laugh with him 🤣👍
Ikr! Bc of him ive started just shamelessly laughing at my own jokes
It's the pure joy that comes from him cracking up at his own jokes that makes me smile
Sometimes he might be the only one to find some funny, and we love him for that! XD
@@maggs131 exactly!
All the best game grumps episodes start with
“What is this?”
“……Let’s find out-“
The plot thickens!
Now I see why everyone thinks Arin is a petite little boy
but he is in fact a large fat man
But he is in fact a large fat man.
But as you can see he is indeed, a large fat man.
Petite??
When he is in fact a large fat man
Do I put my grandpa in water like one of those dinosaur toys?
So… do they really not know that they can avoid the blinking mute icon by just using the volume button and taking it to zero? Oh my sweet boys…
theyre reaching their 70's in their 30/40's
I love that he brought the “Check it out, I’m already eatin.” Meme back
love the concept of a second grade teacher hearing from their student "they keep grandpa in a cage in the basement" and going ah yes. we are playing make-believe
edit: apparently its actually a school caseworker, and now i fully believe it lmao
This has gotta be one of the weirdest games they played, which is saying alot
That Star Wars joke was pretty funny tho, right?
yames’ games are pretty out there but they’re really cool and well made
@@skeletaltrees Ya it seems like whoever made it put alot of work into it, nice to see grumps playing more spooky stuff
@@accountname7588 agreed! i can’t wait to see their lineup for this year’s ghoul grumps
You guys seem to be forgetting the giraffe game they played once
once I realized they were playing a yames game I was like "oh we're in for a fucking treat".
Yames literally only makes body horror
4:00 "I excused Adrienne during music class today and spoke with her about her recent string of demerits. It was our first time meeting outside of our quarterly evaluations and I believe it went well. I can certainly understand Mrs. Richardson's classroom observations concerning Adrienne's emotional state."
10:27 "Once she removed the panel and found the magical, hidden passage, she was very specific about what she took..."
22:52 "The paralyzing shyness and withdrawn attitude Adrienne possessed last week was not entirely diminished, but she seemed to hold herself differently this week. However this only lasted as long as our conversation pertained to initial introductory pleasantries.
Thank you so much; I'm currently on mobile so this is incredibly helpful
Yames has such a fantastic way about making games.
OH MY GOD it's Yames!! The dude makes some of the creepiest, most interesting games out there. Definitely go support him if you enjoyed this game!
As soon as I saw it was a Yames game, I knew we were in for some "fun"
Is it "yah-mes" or yeahms?
27:23 i love that when Arin felt he had to say Dan's lines, he immediately defaulted to his Generic Protagonist Voice. beautiful!
_Arin when reading a short tutorial_
"BLAH BLAH BLAH UGH LEMME PLAY!"
_Arin when reading a "hastily" written essay_
"I'm gonna improv a joke after every sentence and extend this by twice it's length!"
10/10 youtuber moment
hell yeah! yames has some awesome games, i also recommend some of his other games like the well and water womb world
Water womb world seems to be more their speed, im half way through this video and they are struggling with all the reading lmao
I'm pretty sure they played the well. Shit was weird.
Edit: nvm They played Lily's Well.
@@TheMrrccava I watched Mark play water womb world, that was spooky
I felt Dan’s pain when Arin kept skipping things 😂
I was hoping this was a Yames game based on the art style and I was right! Two other equally bizarre games by them are Discover My Body and Water Womb World.
This is how big I am too, Arin.
Yames is an incredible artist. I love the bleak atmospheres against the nonchalant, innocent dialogue.
I don't know about Dan, but I, for one, would like to see if this counselor ever meets grandpa. Maybe they'll be friends.
I think it really speaks to Yames' unique style that I could almost immediately tell it was one of his games. I love Markiplier's playthroughs of his stuff, everyone should go watch them if you enjoyed this!
Dan's intense discomfort is somehow entertaining... and I feel bad about it, but not so much that I don't want more episodes.
Yames makes incredible horror games - it's great to see this on the channel!
I spent the ages from 18 to 27 this year in the Marine Corps watching them almost religiously, especially their montages or slow burn horror like Doki Doki. Even on the absolute worst days this content cheers me up even if just for a second and it made a difference. People don't think it be like this, but it do, ya know?
"What does entropy mean? Breaking down?"
Close enough, Dan. Maybe don't go down that rabbit hole unprepared...
Rabbit hole?
Love how Dan’s mind goes straight to pastry growth, he’s so adorable lmao
This game was the perfect thing to trigger Arin's add and Dan's OCD lol
Ah I remember when I grew my grandpa…. *Good times*
Arin mentioning Helena and then there being a brown banana shortly after is an amazingly comedic coincidence. The bananas has gone bad!
OH MY GOD ARIN PRONOUNCES CULINARY CORRECTLY
As a cook. I am shook.
I don't have any clout and this is 400 years old in internet time, but if anybody wants to know, "Urals" refers to a mountain range in Russia, which infamously became the death site of 9 Russian hikers of the Dyatlov group in 1963. The cause of death remained unsolved for about 50 years.
Day 44 since the death of the giraffe town playthrough. As the world record holder of giraffe town I too, like this grandpa was grown, grown and raised to play giraffe town, which is a pretty fucking rad purpose if you ask me.
I appreciate the commitment to the bit. Well done.
This is actually the official video game release for the 2013 comedy “Bad Grandpa” starring Johnny Knoxville.
Perhaps understandably it… took some time in development.
Really hope they do the Quarry with all these horror games. That series of games really tickles the sweet spot for me.
I'm pretty sure they played the beginning of Until Dawn, I don't remember how they felt about it
@@MightyKirkhammer I know they completed Man of Medan. I dunno if it landed all that well, but that was the game itself imo,
Yessss, I want them to play it too! Their commentary and bad choices would be hilarious!
Torn on that myself, I like it when they do the voices, which they wouldn't really be able to in that.
The irony of Arin complaining about people being lazy when designing tutorials while being too lazy himself to read the screen is palpable.
That's the point he's making. He wouldn't skip the tutorial if is it wasnt just a text box. People dont like reading a lot of text, not since 2003 at least, so we like tutorials like Elden Ring or Valheim, which just let you get right into the action whole also explaining the basics.
Although yeah he does ignore some actually interesting tutorials for the sake of the show, I'll give you that.
Nah I get what he means. You buy a game you wanna just have fun. A wall of text at the start is a lot less fun than learning as you play, and tutorials like that have fallen out of fashion for good reason
ah, youtube comments. missing the point as usual.
If a game doesn't have an extensive tutorial that actually explains things, I look up the paragraphs of text explaining things myself instead of being handily presented them by the game. Not all of us learn the same way you or Arin might.
@the tiniest rampage That's kinda a moot point though when the entire game is walls of text
Yames?? Oh you're in for a ride!
gotta love them olfactory bulbs and pulsating sacs!
Grumps need to play Milk inside a bag of milk inside a bag of milk.
As sad as I am that I cannot watch the episode, I REALLY appreciate the warning in the beginning about the flashing lights! Thank you so much for being accommodating for those of us with sensory sensitivities and seizures. You guys are absolutely awesome! 🧡🧡
My heart hurts when it sounds like arin really hates reading the lines, i got really happy when he started to read the note on the door in a non joking voice, it quickly went back to the pretty typical vibe though🥺
For a professional voice actor, I kinda wish he'd do the half assed ones a bit less.
They really missed a Ninja Brian joke, with Mr. PHD
I loved that chaotic ad. And your chaotic ads in general.
I was absolutely not expecting a reference to their Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 sessions in this episode, but here we are!
"Gramps is a grower not a showwer,"
-My headcannon of Arin Hanson after seeing the title and thinking for a moment
I feel like, after recent videos discussing kissing dads and growing bacteria from themselves, this was the natural next step
thanks for playing!
Hell yeah a Yames game!! All of his games are great, a really talented developer
This is definitely an episode I'll remember for a while 😂
This is the kind of episode perfect to play at night when your winding down and want to fall asleep to something. There's something weirdly zen about the Grumps reading dialogue and occasionally joking.
I agree ☝️
you know I do love these one off episodes, specially lately in a year full of series completions
“Ah! You store the food in your lunchbox? That’s nice of you to share.”
*”Where the fuck else would I store it.”*
My god... he read the tutorial. 🤯
I need more of this I'm so invested and I have a sneaking suspicion he'll eat people at some point
I really appreciate the flashing lights warning. I don’t get seizures but I get really bad headaches if I watch or play games like this in the dark.
Dan's increasing worry about Arin skipping the tutorial is peak Grumps, and I'm here for it! 😂😂
3:19
Arin you are basically the reason some tutorials some to be done like that though, because if it isn't you will end up spending the entire game not knowing how to do something because you ignored every single minor nudge and hint the game gave you previously and then yell "Well it's not my fault the game never told me."
Despite the fact that the game did tell you in exactly what you claim is your preferred way.
And this is genuinely only worth pointing out because Arin keeps carrying on so confidently with no self reflection on this point.
Arin likes tutorials that are intuitively melded with gameplay. Where it asks you to try something, and you try it, and you see what happens and learn for yourself. He doesn't like big long textboxes explaining what would happen if you tried something hypothetically in a future scenario that isn't currently happening thus as soon as the textbox disappears you immediately forget everything that was just told to you.
@@emstink I call bullshit, there is literally no game with ingrained tutorials that Arin wouldn’t call out for trying to make him do tutorial stuff.
please make this a short series!! i gotta know what happens to gramps
The Danganronpa 2 reference in the beginning 😂💕”check it out, I’m already eaten’”
Wholesome to see the boys spend time with grandpa 💙
No idea what to expect from this title. Everyone enjoy your day!
I know to expect something about grandpa-growing.
@@DrakonIL🤣 I'd have to say that is about as good as my guess. Gotta love context clues. lol. Have a good one, man.
love it when they play spooky indie horror games
I do too! I guess they don't do it too often because Dan doesn't want to shred his voice when he has to sing for NSP.
"Getting grandpa to consume other things requires some culinary deception"? What, like when you put your dogs medicine in cheese?
No matter how stupid it is that Arin is trying to make that "Death Blooms" thing into a meme, it actually works pretty well with some of the dialogue here.
I’m gonna start saying “my finger is heavy” when I press the wrong button too, on a side note you guys should totally play silent hill 2 or resident evil village at some point :-)
I love how their advertising is just Arin and Dan being Arin and Dan. I’ll take 20
31:00 Entropic - chaotic; without form or order; changing. Comes from the Greek en- "within" and trop- "change", change within referring to a closed system.
Entropy is lack of order or predictability it can also mean decline into disorder.
Physics definition involving thermodynamics is obviously not applicable in the use case, but it's a measure of the available energy a system has.
In the context it means that the environment changes so you end up with different things due to changes.
Actually thought Arnold was gonna start just skipping all the dialog and then screaming "WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! WHAT IS THIS?!?!"
"Arin, stop moving the trash can around and just play the game!"
Dan is always keeping him on track 😂
THANK YOU! For seizure warning. I'm not photo-epileptic but, seriously. BIG Thanks :) Keep up the great work.
I mean it's good but I would prefer if there was a timestamp so I could watch the rest of it fine while ignoring the trigger.
It's because there's a photosensitivity warning in the original games' opening screen, which wasn't shown in the video since it was on the title screen. There isn't really a particular moment where there's flashing lights
Arin: I have no vocabulary words
Me: Yes
Sorry your comment on RLM got taken down yesterday when CZcams took down Mike and Jay's "Prey" video. People in that comments section were idiots though. Again I just want to say you guys rocked in Denver this June! Thank you for 10 years! 💕
oh i didnt see the comment! what did it say?
Loud toxic people? Colour me shocked.
I hope this video is good, can't watch it because I'm sensitive to flashing lights but much support to the grumps, the team and the viewers. I never get tired of watching g you videos
Good thing this is very story based so you can probably just listen to it.
@@heroawesome8495 awesome 😊
Annoys me when videos go "this video has flashing lights" but no indication when so you can't just watch the other bits. Great you've just written off a 40 minute video for some seconds of flashing lights
They included the warning because that was in the original games' warning, even though there isn't any particular instance of flashing lights besides the little flicker effect that's always on the visuals. If you can stand the game's title screen then you'll be fine for most of it. I think the only part that's a little more flashy is the very end before the credits but I besides that it's fine
Oh shit it’s a game by Yames! This’ll be good
This is definitely more of a ghoul grumps game. I think I'd like this more as a story than a game. /jumps to the end of the short story. And then it ate everyone, the mother and father and everyone at school. So Adreinne decided to grow everyone that grandpa ate and they all lived-ish happily ever after.
I love the throwback reference to dead or alive. Best series honestly XD
All Dans are tall, all Arins are short, all dogs are boys (and go to heaven), all cats are girls
No lies detected
Is this the first Yames game the grumps have done? Pretty cool!
17:10 Dan, your mumbling delivery of jokes like this, and the complete awareness of how terrible the joke is, makes me guffaw so loudly it wakes up my household. Thank you for being you.
i hope they play more of this, i need to see what kind of silly shenanigans grandpa gets up to
As we know Arin not being a fan of long tutorials, I’ll take his side on vague-ass tutorials with only blocks of text and no visual indications on what they’re referring to.
Everyone gets up in Arin's shit for hating tutorials but I have ADHD and they actually feel like torture sometimes. Like just get to the point, jesus
The sudden "YOU!" and pointing at the start of the video was really funny along with most of the video!
I wish I could thumbs up an ad. The mint mobile with Ryan "....You're not my wife...?" xD Best skit.
