One thing I love about this game is how expressive the characters faces are during gameplay. It's nice to see the characters showing emotion instead of just having the usual neutral face.
Game is good but controls are like floor is covered with butter in new Mario games.

After years of having 2D Mario games being way too similar with each installment, I think this is something the 2D Mario genre DESPERATELY needed. The final result, being absolutely fantastic 👏

This is special though. Sonic mania and superstars are the only 2d classic sonic games to have background platforming. I haven't seen any Mario game besides wonder that have the same things.
