  • World War 2. Hitler launches a surprise attack on the Soviet Union in 1941. Stalin is in shock as Wehrmacht Formations encircle the Red Army from Sevastopol to Leningrad. However what was supposed to be a fast BLitzkrieg campaign slowly turns into a bloody war of attrition as the two Titans battle for survival. Moscow, Stalingrad and Kursk will be some of the largest battle in the Second world war, and many believes that the Patriotic War itself was desicive for WWII.
This Unhistorical Timelapse is loosely based on real events however as it is AI Generated the War will eventually turn out different compared to the real one.
As in my other videos, this one also shows stats pulled from the game:
The Total industry shows all civilian and military industry per faction level. The big spikes and drops comes as nations joins or capitulates, or as big developed areas gets occupied by other powers.
The Army Size represent the total deployed forces, once again on a faction level. Finally, the casualties, yeah are also per faction level. You will se them spike especially after the eastern front opens.
One thing about the stats: They're manually fished out of the game once every six months. (Yep, I load the save files and write down the numbers) this means that the statistics that you see are interpolated, thereby, you wont see rapid changes exactly when America joins, but instead the changes will appear smoothly over a 6 month interval. besides that though, the statistics are very accurately and not manipulated by me at all.
This WWII timelapse has been simulated by AI in the video game Hearts of Iron IV by Paradox Interactive.

I was actually kind of amazed how historical it was. Only major difference was the Soviets naval invaded north-western Europe and conquered all of western Germany, and Yugoslavia conquered all of the Hungary and Austria.

Well I've seen worse post war borders,
      *Northern Europe*
      - East Germany is bigger than they were historically with the Polish people pissed off.
      - Konigsberg is a "independent" and is part of West Germany somehow, but I don't think the US can help in a "Konigsberg Blockade".
      - Austria is bigger since it was given land that the Italians took from back in World War 1, Italians are pissed.
      - Slovakia is independent from the Czechs much more earlier, the Czecks are unhappy.
      - Austria is not neutral in the Cold War unless they change their mind in the 1960s.
      *Southern Europe*
      - Italy is smaller.
      - Yugoslavia is a complete mess with 3 socialist counties independent from it.
      - Southern France has two states succeeding from it but Charles de Gaulle will change that.
      - Corsica is under Soviet Protection (and control).
      - Albania and a former Italian port in Yugoslavia are now under direct rule from Moscow.
      - Hungary is still big with the Romania's pissed off both being under the Warsaw Pact.
      - Bulgaria is now a "Western" nation but Greece is now Communist and part of the Warsaw Pact.
Yugoslavia has been weakened to the point that the Soviets can do whatever they want in the Balkans sans Bulgaria being NATO aligned.
Q: Is their going to be conflicts and war in the Balkans?
A: Yes, but the Soviets will forcibly make the region stable until the end of the Cold War. So less genocides and massacres in the region unless the USSR suddenly collapses or abandons the Balkans to their fate but if NATO can (violently) stabilize the Balkens in our History then maybe the Soviet Union can.

There is't Courland (Kurzemes) pocket. The pocket was created during the Red Army's Baltic Offensive, when forces of the 1st Baltic Front reached the Baltic Sea near Memel (Klaipėda) during its lesser Memel Offensive Operation phases. This action isolated the German Army Group North from the rest of the German forces, having been pushed from the south by the Red Army, standing in a front between Tukums and Libau in Latvia, with the Baltic Sea in the West, the Irbe Strait in the North and the Gulf of Riga in the East behind the Germans. Renamed Army Group Courland on 25 January, the Army Group in the Courland Pocket remained isolated until the end of the war. When they were ordered to surrender to the Soviet command on 8 May, they were in "blackout" and did not get the official order before 10 May, two days after the capitulation of Germany. It was one of the last German groups to surrender in Europe.
