The 4 years of hard work by hundreds of students, the expensive tuition payments, internships, all will not be celebrated because some people think this is the place for their “protest.” Camping out on property that’s not yours is not protesting, it’s disrupting. If you want to protest US funding to Israel, take that to DC where the politicians are deciding these things.

Even before Oct. 7 there were thousands of Palestinians including kids in Israeli prisons without any due process. Then you add illegal Israeli settlements and the illegal occupation of Gaza, all before Oct. 7. The Israeli lobby has bought out the US from government to schools. That's why the protests are asking the schools to DIVEST from Israel.
Lol if protesting would not cause disruptions, why would anyone listen to them. Protestors are supposed to make disruptions and are uncomfortable. But should remain respectful and peaceful.

Use safety goggles (the kind with the big seal) to prevent chemical agents from getting in the eyes. Masks (n95/COVID style) to prevent lung and throat irritation from chemical agents. Have a bike helmet to prevent head trauma from being thrown into objects or onto the ground, as well as from clubs/nightsticks (I have seen videos of them being used already).
Better yet, just stick to your studies Bro.
Oh and then you can get a job and pay your bills and student loans and not expect the government (i.e. using hardworking taxpayers $$) Economic 101. Good Luck.

Well, I'm soon to graduate. Been deans list every semester. Work part time during the semester and full time during the summer, and have been working since I was 15. I have no illusions that my student loans would ever be forgiven and alleviated. All the while I am a West Virginian at a Christian college in WV, so hardly the most liberal of background and environment. Also hardly a 'privileged child' considering where I come from, being raised in an environment full of poverty and economic despair, and driving a rusty vehicle that is nearly 20 years old with 225k miles and no power steering because I don't have money for another vehicle currently. Only able to afford to go to school because I worked hard in HS to obtain academic and music scholarships. I am also graduating early due to taking 1.5 semesters of college classes while still in high school. But please continue to tell me how I am failing academically, spoiled, and have no work ethic.

@@Whatnok Each school within the university is still having their own ceremonies. That’s when the students get their names called, walk on stage and get their diploma. The ceremony that’s being cancelled is the public one and just for speeches.
Why not send in the NAtional Guard prior to graduation? Fence off the graduation ceremony so no protester could get within 500 feet of the ceremony. Squash any disruption immediately on graduation day. Then the NAtional Guard are removed and the children can go on protesting. Problem solved!
