In the Ottomans age, anthems were for Padishahs ( the leaders of the Empire ), thats why they changed the anthem in every 15-20 years

    • @canantunay2904
      @canantunay2904 Před 2 dny +1

This is amazing (!) where did you get the information from? 😆😅
Firstly, the title "Padishah" means "Emperor",not leader..
Secondly, the Ottoman Padishahs received extremely good education and training from a very young age.Besides these, they were people who were fond of art..
Many Padishahs of Ottoman Empire used to write poems that were extremely emotional and well-expressed, and are still read with pleasure today.
Especially since Sultan II.Mahmut (1785-1839), there have been Sultans of Ottoman Empire who composed western-style music and anthems. But There are also many anthems and military musical works composed by artists from the people in previous centuries.
"Changing the anthems every 15-20 years"..... is a completely fabricated claim.😆😅

The Republican March, also known as the Independence March, is more than just a procession; it is a powerful poetic expression. It instills in every Turkish citizen, irrespective of race or nationality, the vital duty to courageously defend their nation against any challenges posed by enemies. The themes echo those in Atatürk's address to the youth, yet understanding the recent past is essential to fully grasp Atatürk's message. Moreover, the National Anthem holds a religious significance in contrast to the address to the youth.

Our national anthem has no other name. If it is necessary to translate it literally into a foreign language,it is the"Anthem of Independence"..
To attach a fictitious name as the "Republican anthem" is both absurd and fabricated.
There are many musical works composed under the name "Anthem".But with the exception of the " Indepence Anthem", none of them are at the level of our official and national anthem.

I never heard the real Mecidiye Marsi before I saw this video, and it made me realize that it does sound a lot like the Imperial March. This may have to do with the fact that this song was written in F-sharp major, the same key used by John Williams in his Symphony No. 4 (1980), which is where the Imperial March was first introduced. As one may guess, Darth Vader's Theme first appears in The Empire Strikes Back, and my favorite iteration of this music comes when Vader says: "I am your father."

The Resadiye March actually DID have lyrics, but not a lot of people know that. It was one of Italo Selvelli's greatest works, as it ties into the Ottoman worldview, especially during World War I, when Mehmed V Resad was the Sultan. When Mehmed V died in July 1918, the Ottoman Empire pulled out of the war, which in a way, allowed it to survive until 1922, when Mehmed VI, the successor of Resad, was deposed and the Republic of Turkey was proclaimed early the next year.

Our armies have grown bold, powerful, and loyal.
Our people have been shaken once before,
But times have changed since then.
Now our enemies will tremble before us,
The Sultan shall doubtlessly make it so!
For the allies we have are stronger than ever before!
We may appear weak in Europe,
      But within our own Empire,
Our people rejoice while they repeat the same vow:
Glory be to our Sultan! All hail the Ottoman Throne!
Blessings be to our great people! Now and forever!
      (Chorus)
As long as our Empire lives,
      So too will Osman's spirit!
Mehmed outlined to us the road to success,
And Osman showed us the way!
As our Sultan leads us along the road,
      We dutifully follow him!
We pledge ourselves to the crimson banner,
With the white moon and star acting as a shining beacon,
      To our leader's ultimate victory!
      Glory be to the Sultan!
Glory be to our great people!

one thing to bear in mind is that before the national anthem of Turkey was composed, military used a couple of marches, most famous ones being Izmir March (the Ottoman era won without lyrics) and the Army's Prayer/Orion (a poem composed by Mehmed Akif Ersouy), which both acted as unofficial anthems. Also in times of Hamidiye, most people did not know the lyrics to the anthem, many occasions of ottoman soldiers singing wedding songs occured since they didn't know their anthem.

objectively speaking the current national anthem of turkey is utterly terrible. most of you wont know it when singing it but it doesnt even phonetically and linguisticaly fit the speaking rules of our language when singed at schools. the music of it itself is pretty mid. only thing good about the republics national anthem is the poem, which truth be told is magnifcent. mehmet akif ersoy absolutely nailed it. listening to my national anthem always brings up the question in my mind, question of "what really makes an anthen the anthem? the music and melody of it?? or the poetry of it?" many nations manage to balance both so you guys probably wont think of it but turkish republics anthem when singed is physically cringing, yet is beautiful when read on the paper. i staunchly believe republic has to make anew or atleast revise the national anthem with a new music at the least. and about the earlier anthems and marches. they are perfect
