Movie is as good as pre-production
Have clarity on what you want and let your associates also be on same page
Shot list ,Storyboarding,scout locations according to it and stage actors and camera blocking in pre production
Let every department know what the director require and set expectations for them
Have logline,synopsis and bound script ready and then start pitching according to time they give you
Write atleast minimum number of scripts like 5 or 10 to get a learning curve and experience
For screenwriting practice prefer books like save the cat amd foundations of Screenplay for structure and use Art of dramatic Writing for Character development and character arcs
Have a rapport with DOP ,to be clear on set and to tell efficient visual storytelling
Do workshop with actors ,which makes it easy for one to direct and for actors to understand character
Director has to be confident else the set will collapse, trust that you are driving the set
Be strong on what you want and convey it to actors with confidence
Table reads are helpful as in if any improvisation was made by actors, you'll have time to include it in script and work on execution,also it'll be easier for actors to be their characters
Actors have descipline, patience and memory power and prepare a scene before going to auditions and also be prepare to do the scene in other mode than it is ,if they ask
Writers and directors be persistent,have multiple scripts and keep at it ❤️
