It’s high time propel realise that KS is not into this typical zone of following a trend to deliver blockbusters. If you take a retrospect of his filmography, you can see that has reinvented himself in one or the other way through all his works. He has always been versatile and prioritises creativity and craft over stardom ( only exception is Petta, although I wouldn’t call it a bad film by any means )

Now he's ruining the concept "LCU" for business sake. He's not doing whats good, he's doing what will run in theatres with some screenplay formula.
U guys celebrate Rolex. But I'd say that's a reel set piece which gave mainstream audience a high excitement. Then that film is blockbuster. But weak writing.

Many westerns exist in Tamil cinema from 50s/60s/70's watch the old Jaishankar, Gemini Ganesan, Sivaji and MGR films. Movies like Kalam Vellum, Ganga (1972), Jakkamma, Enga Pattan Sothu, Jamboo, Revolver Reeta (a female centric film with 2 mains being women which came out in 1970) among many others

Karthik Subbaraj is a director that can take Indian cinema to greater heights. His visual language is something else❤️. I would personally love Karthik Subbaraj to work with bigger stars and it should be hundred percent his work without the typical star elements.
That's a tall order to ask for. Most big stars will insist on mass/star elements.
Thats only thing I don't want from KS. I want him to make movies with lesser known stars and newbies.

Why can’t you enjoy both without having to put down one for another? Shame on you folks! The reason why Lokesh is so popular is because of the sheer hardwork and craftsmanship he’s put in his movies. LCU is no joke! And to convince TOP TAMIL heroes to fit into a Universe is an amazing achievement in itself (we all know how top heroes are egomaniacs and wouldn’t want to work with certain actors due to ego clashes). STOP comparing people and learn to respect their work! I loved LEO for how Lokesh brought out the Performer in Vijay and exploring the ALTER EGO characters of LEO and Parthiban. Likewise I loved JigarthandaXX.

Just saw the movie and wept like a kid and my 5 year old kid wiped off my tears and consoled me saying its ok pappa..dont cry..he joined me to watch along seeing elephants and said villain become hero and why is he not fighting back at climax..it was a wholesome experience and it made my day..
I immediately thought of Peter Jackson's King Kong when I saw Surya handling super 8mm camera....😂😊🙏
Karthik Subbaraj bring out the acting quality in each actor even for Rajnikanth. The movie as good as Kantara for the nature destruction. More of this type of film need to be supported.

@@vatsalaramesh9122 Jagame Thandhiram was flop. After Dhruv Vikram's entry, Mahaan fell flat for me, his character was so annoying. It is indeed a comeback, also a comeback to theatre. Jigarthanda xx has flaws like Sjs getting married the very moment he sees the girl, just like the conventional romance, also a slow burn first half, the establishment took some time, some songs felt unnecessary, many people were walking out of the theatre to get their popcorn during that time. But despite the flaws in XX, a magic happened with the audience through an emotional connection. I am also a genuine cinephile, there is nothing wrong in using the word "comeback" 😄

Great discussion, but am a bit slightly sad that there was no talk about the actor who played “Shettani”. The actor and his mud-covered make up was insanely good.
The total character design of the shettani and his group was top notch. Those masked men riding horses gave separate chills. That BGM when Caesar and shettani fight for the second time was terrific.

Have few issues with the film but truly a Masterpiece. Though some were flawed and incorrect ...every idea in the movie felt thought through. Actual narrative risks. The scene with SJS in the open field 🤌🤌🤌. The Best from Tamil this year till now.
