I don't understand the language but this instructor is unbelievable. Very fast, very smooth. His techniques are almost effortless. His timing is crazy good. Thanks for the video. It was a pleasure to watch him demonstrate his martial art.
the student of cecep arif rahman
He is speaking in Cantonese
That's something I appreciate about SE Asian styles, like silat, escrima, and muay thai: they are wonderfully efficient and practical.
yup. its pretty to watch. and brutal
This guy learned alot when he was blessed by the filipino masters. My teacher would never teach at this speeds. Slow.. Great skill remember our technique don't always mix well with other seasoned artist, but on the street fighting a non-practitioner the Arnis seem very effective. Brazil is the deadliest country for.knife assault in the WORLD!..
This Is PENCAK SILAT(INDONESIA) NO ESCRIMA OR MUAY THAI👍
@@remix8786 ok Pencak Silat how many forms of Silat are there.
@@remix8786 No. This is Arnis, you can read the tottle of this video. Arnis is Filipino martial arts.
I laughed myself seeing the teacher handling the opponent without staring at him at all. How skillful the teacher is. Terima kasih banyak /thank u very much
i really love what u r doing man.. it is really hard to notice or find a chinese that learn this silat that came from most we known from malaysian or indonesian tradition.. really love it
Nice
This is by far one of the most devastating and immediate forms of self-defense that I have seen. Much respect.
Look up hapkido
FEED THE HUNGRY TROLL Bruce lee defeated by silat.
Is this trully a self defense!!?? 😅what i Saw was someone actually almost killed somebody 😬 though it's just demo
I understand that this man has trained the Silat of Maul Mornie, the world touring silat guru.
Terima kasih tuan muda sudah memperkenalkan silat, anda begitu lincah, gesit, cepat & genius, semoga selalu beruntung
I very much like how powerless many of the moves were and well.... How smooth they were. I might take a silat class soon, and I have a feeling my aikidō training will help.
This has got to be one of the best FMA demos I've seen on youtube! My hat's off to you, mate! That was outstanding!
Absolutely
Just a few words : deadly......and the teacher knowledge is awesome....respect
As a malay ...im so very proud of you sensei/sifu... bcause you knows about silat even you are chinese people... Bcause chinese always practising their own martial art like kungfu, taichi or wingchun
I wish i could understand him. He seems like a really cool dude and a skilled martial artist (the main dude talking)
This guy is a freaking badass!
This looks a lot like SCARS training.. you don't wait for them to move.. you move through them with purpose.. survival...
Este tipo es un Genio el mejor que eh visto en el Arte Marcial del Silat, no como otras cagadas que enseñan pal tuje, me inspiro este personaje del video es bueno se merece un like...
Absolutely brilliant.
I love the arts of the Archipelago. Max respect.
This dude is fast. I must learn this
I am very impressed with it.

gibran siregar I will lol
unfortunately, the dude is not Indonesian hehe
bintang multimedia duh he's from hongkong
One of my friends told me about this style of martial arts and ever since I saw these demos and videos I have wanted to really try it out and hopefully keep training in it. I assume there are schools that teach this style in American but I havent been lucky enough to come across one yet.
Come to Garut west Java
Okayyy. So good demo, as a silat/kali/Muy Thai student of Guro Dan Inosanto I'd like to offer to the detractors here in the comments. That this is demo, demo shows possibilities of application. When we spar, its a different view entirely, weapons application/foot work/ hand eye cooordination is fun to see and do. It's no different than randori in JJ/Judo/or Muy Thai..... Sparring is different if only because the gross motor skills are reverted to the more you tire. Plus if you've got good sparring partners they can hurt you as much as you do them. This keeps you honest about your abilities.
Lastly, I have used my silat/kali many times over the years while doing EP/Security and Law Enforcement. I've never had an excessive force complaint or law suit because I continually train CQC/Hand to Hand and martial arts in general so I can view my sidearm as a tool in the box not the 'only' tool available.
TimberBlay so true
+John Milano Please, then, I hope to find someone to help me. I joined this martial arts school and I will be indebted to him for the rest of my life. Can I find someone who can help me learn these arts?
where do you live?
Pretty good
Sorry, I read CQC and felt I needed to make the referrence.
That's the closest I've seen to penjak. But he's obviously fighting trained victims. I realise it's a demo. But I'd like to see two pandekers go to it.
It's good to see no padding.
.... when they got to the knives I saw nothing but murder machines... holy crap.
that's why it's only use in battle situation, not in ordinary live
Beautiful fluidity.
Uffff una de las artes marciales a mi parecer mas completa y temible ,excelente demostración....saludos desde Veracruz,Mex.

This was mastery... very impressive.
what a fantastic demo. wish i could do it.
Awesome skill
Very good demonstration thank you for sharing
I've seen a number of otherwise very appreciative comments wishing they could *understand* what is being said. Now given that it's 6 years after this posting, it's probably too late to even think of adding closed captions, but perhaps someone who knows & understands the demonstrators language could transcribe what he's saying into a comment here, which could then be pinned to the top? Most all of the comments here are in English.
THIS IS FMA, KALI ARNIS ESCRIMA!
Now is FMA but in the past Philippines learn silat and adopted to fma.

If you wants to see great silat in movie, Watch The Raid
I think that's why 99.9999% of us are here, with a .00000% margin of error
Lol I'm that .00000000000000001% I read on some martial arts site that Silat was one of the most brutal martial arts, so I was like "okay okay lets see how brutal it is". That how I got here.
@@animepabu5526 youtube Maul565
@@ufotofu9 i actually dont know wtf the raid is, saw it on a list and decided to check it
Not disapointed at al
I like it...ajiiib...
Great skill
Espectacular.
beautiful martial arts
Sangat mengesankan,,, cinta dari Indonesia...
👍👍nice...indah gerakan nya

Very fast and smooth
filipino is best in knive fighting
That is Silat knife style Indonesian martial art , I know Kali cause I been learn Kali, also Arnis stick fighting
@@TheKetota the knife drill was actually Pekiti Tirsia (Philippines) which focuses on impact, sharp and edge weapons but yes the drill which they used the karambit is silat from Indonesia the hand to hand clearly a dirty boxing or commonly known in the Philippines as panantukan, the used of sinawali everytime he start his drill gave it away.
I am in Indonesia.
Silat uses mostly intelligence and high speed. Silat is the deadliest self-defense.
Love to attend a seminar, please let me know when you're doing one in south Florida. Thanks
this martial art is use in war of independence of indonesia
@Aidan Fisher after the proclamation in 1945 by soekarno, indonesia fight an independence war againts british and dutch so no treaties until 1949, so Indonesia's independence is in 1945 only some countries recognized it. so its a war for 4 years until it is recognize by dutch. and Pencak Silat was used during colonialism even before 20th century. usually used by warriors from SEA nation like modern day malaysia, brunei, and so on. also some soldier that fight japanese do fight with bamboo spear. and they are not stupid but desperate, they would use anything they had in their arsenal be it stones or a bamboo they would use it. so idk about your source but ok...lol
@Aidan Fisher lmao you just said what i said, treaties until 1949, before that indonesia fight using whatever they had be it japanese weapon that they took or just some rocks and bamboo, and of course we independent through treaties and diplomacy, but if our fight was failed when dutch and british invade indonesia after ww2 it would be another 10 or 20 years before independence... your argument does not have any rationality tbh. And what's wrong with proud with your country? Nothing wrong with it. Lol
@Aidan Fisher i have books called "Indonesia dalam arus sejarah" it means indonesia in the course of history, and i have 8 edition that tell the history until reformation era. So idk about your source, can you send it here
@Aidan Fisher and about silat just search the history of pencak silat, but i know you are lazy af since you are comment like that but its okay i guess
@Aidan Fisher oh the irony where is the source? Come on. That books written by historian and i think they are indonesian. So just give me your source
Very good
That half nelson chicken wing one armed escort was worth the entire video alone. Mad slick.
I have Malaysian friends and all they ever sad was that Silat was flowery and not effective (they both ended up high grades in Wing Chun and Hapkido training in KL) but the more I see of this family of martial arts, the more impressed I become.
I was introduced to Kali back in the late 80's whilst training Japanese Ju-Jitsu and the hand work was far superior to anything I was getting from the Ju-Jitsu. I now know of course that this too is from the Silat family. Sadly, my only access to Kali was through a cross training partner so I didn't train formally - I wish I had.
silat of indonesia and malaysia are flowery.... the filipinos removed the flowery part and made it combat effective and applied it in kali eskrima or arnis.... the same with judo, aikido etc... filipinos get the effective and take away the ineffective....
Kali is proven and effective. It was wildly used by pre-spanish filipinos against invaders and also used it primarily as defense. During the spanish occupation, Kali was used against the muslim insurgency. Was also used in the filipino-american war and used again in guerilla battles in ww2. So, it's ancient and also deadly.
really cool!
GREAT...
Nice demo........
Mengerikan ni menyerang dan dipotong urat dan aliran darahnya apa lagi dengan krambit makin vitality.. tapi kta guru biar tidak menjadi kebiasaan jelek berfikir dahulu sebelum last attack... Krn mmg sangat mematikan serangan silat ni
awsome!! wow
