    Put a tarp, cardboard, and/or cardboard boxes underneath and around the trees or bush to be trimmed so you won't have to pick up the debris after you trim them.

    I love my EGO trimmer. The battery is two years old and "lasts as long as I want to work", and more powerful than other battery powered tools I've used.

    I love my EGO hedge trimmer and I do tape the handle switch down so I can use it one handed to reach across really large shrubs.

    Home depot lose the EGO contract and has all the EGO stuff on sale, of what is leftover and had to go to two stores to get my stuff, I picked up this Hedge trimmer, 1 battery, 1 snowblower, 1 string trimmer, and 1 muti head systems, and 1 650 blower, looks like I just became an EGO fan as well, now I have to register my EGO tools. thinking of going back to pick up one more battery, and see if I can also find the lawnmower, one of the tools came with the 2nd generation battery., that's okay still happy with the money I spent on them and at least I didn't have to pay full price for them, this time.

      Wow! Sounds like you've just about got the whole collection. :) I heard about Home Depot not carrying EGO tools any more but hadn't thought about checking to see if they're having any close out deals on stuff. I may have to go take a look at my Local stores.

    Have Ego products and Yes, when the battery isn't below a certain percentage it will still read 100% even though I used it for a little while. overall AWESOME PRODUCTS 💯👌

    Ego tools are great. The only thing I really can't grasp is most tools often cost about the price of simply buying a charger/battery alone.
    I'd expect either the Tool only or the batteries to be significantly less expensive on their own. I already own a battery/charger. If I buy a new tool, I'm buying the battery/charger kit with it as it's likely only an extra $20

    Olive trees may be a bit tougher for 1/2 to 1 inch. So, ya, it may be harder than a typical shrub or bush.

    Missed a chance brian. Should have gone inside, "honey the hefge trimmer only does so much with those olive trees. I really need to get the ego 18" chainsaw to finish the job" lol + 1 more ego tool

      The thought did cross my mind to go and pick up the EGO Chainsaw but I don't have much use for one so it would sit around not being used after using it on the Russian Olives. At the same time once I have one I imagine I'd figure out other times it would be useful. XD

    Good hedge trimmers but not the performance of gas. You’re especially
    gonna notice the speed difference on a large thick large hedge. Battery hedge trimmers aren’t too bad though. All the other battery yard tools have a long ways to go before they will be good for larger jobs. I love using the battery stuff for small jobs but if I had to choose one or the other I choose gas.

    You fail to mention the brushless motor. Big deal. Much longer life than brushed motors.

    What’s the difference between a ‘Russian olive tree’ and an ‘olive tree’?

    Does it work with the 5 amp battery?

    • @Maraksot78
      @Maraksot78  Před 4 lety

      Yes, but the 5ah battery is definitely heavier. I posted this video on Twitter as well and actually got a response from EGO and they said the battery will read 100% if it's between 90% and 100%. So if that is the case a 2.5ah battery could last even longer than I thought. Even as long as 90 minutes!
