  • There are many flavors of the R NineT motorcycle such as the Pure and the Cafe Racer but Today I review the beautiful BMW R NineT Scrambler. In my first ride, I loved how beautiful the bike is and how aggressive it looks.. From the classic looking spoke rims to the air-cooled boxer twin engine that is sticking out of the sides and lets not forget to mention... it sounds quite aggressive in its stock form! In this review, I will discuss with you all of the details and then I'll take it on a nice road test where I explain how I feel about it and if I like it or not.

    I watched a You Tube channel where the man bought the R Nine T Pure. He bought a few accessories and had them put on. One of the accessories was the speedometer and tachometer cluster that the original R Nine T had. So if not having a tachometer is an obstacle to purchasing the bike, then BMW can make it easier to get the bike. Vaughn

    Hi PetroHead.🙂 I’m a new rider and I’m looking for my first bike. I was looking at either the Triumph Speed Twin, or the BMW R NineT. I’m a 5’4 female with enough sense to go easy on the throttle, go legal speed limits, and to put them into a low power mode until I was comfortable. It would awesome if I could get your feed back. Also, I love your videos, and the Panigale. Stay Safe!🙂

    • @PetroHead
      @PetroHead  Před 4 lety +3

      Being a female, you're probably more cautious than most males. That said, I would still not recommend the R NineT as a beginner bike because it has over 100hp and weighs almost 500 lbs. And 100% guarantee you will drop the bike and you don't want to drop a bike this expensive.
      My suggestion is to start with an R3, MT03, 390 Duke, RC390 or equivalent for at least 6 months. Buy one used of course. These bikes can be resold for almost the same amount you buy it. Look for 2-3 year old models so they are depreciated and learn as much as you can. Good luck!

    • @silverstar8870
      @silverstar8870 Před 4 lety

      PetroHead Thank you so much for responding!💕I think that sounds a lot better then what I was willing to do. Like you said the bike is very expensive, and I wouldn’t want to drop it. So I think going with a smaller bike for 6 months would be good for me, just so I can learn the ropes. Once again, thank you so much for replying. Stay safe, and happy riding. 🙂

    • @PetroHead
      @PetroHead  Před 4 lety +2

      BMW is in the business of making money. They don’t offer beginner bikes.. so naturally they will tell a beginner what’s best for them. However, that’s not always in your best interest as a beginner rider.
      A beginner bike is lightweight, smaller in displacement and lower in power under 50HP. That said, R3 bikes are perfect beginner bikes. I won’t go too much into it as you can find a plethora of info on YT but a big congrats nonetheless. Be safe and enjoy!

    I appreciate the video. Constructive criticism: Consider having a script for you so you avoid repetitions. Example: You mentioned weigh, engine size, HP and torque, etc., too many times. You could have focused more on riding aspects, comfort (mentioning your height as an example), etc. I wish you success.

    I had an R9T UGS and there's 2 things I didn't like. Even new bike burned almost 4L of oil per 10000km (within BMW acceptable limits surprisingly enough!) and the front suspensions were just crap (same as on the R9T racer which didn't make much sense). I don't know if they have improved the forks since, but if they addressed the oil consumption and suspensions, its a really fun bike!
