  • This is a quick review of the Tama Iron Cobra 200 series double bass pedals. I recently purchased them and have used them quite a bit. I love the feeling of these double bass pedals so I figured that I would do a review of them.
    I think that the Iron Cobra 200's are the best double bass pedals for beginner drummers, and I outline all of the reasons throughout the video.

    You sort of remind me of Badger from Breaking Bad. “Yo, Jesse. We might see javelinas!” 😂

    It’s amazing how back in the day we used the old school pedals.Can still get the speeds up at 300 rpm’s even with the old pedals. It takes work. whatever pedal you use.You can get the best.And not get what you want. you got to put in the work.On any bass drum pedal.Put some Velcro on it.I’ll take care of the problem.

    Almost bought these but found some second hand iron cobra powerglides on ebay for the same price. You can see the difference in build quality, the high end iron cobras are hard to beat.

    What's the total distance covered by the beaters?

    I play drums for 10 years now and bought these pedals recently. For me they work great! Even though i play a lot of Metal involving much double-bass rythmes. The reason i bought these, is because they aren't that expencive. If i did have the money, i would've bought the Speedcobra's haha

    i have these bass pedals, they produce a lot of power . Is there a way to make the pedals kick faster ? can you answer this for me real quick ? the pedals are a bit stiff, i could get on other pedals and let the double kicks fly, for these its a bit more difficult

    • @tkobenzo8840
      @tkobenzo8840 Před 10 lety +5

      its because they are single chain pedals which dont tend to repond as well as a double chain or direct drive

      +Ken Armstrong hey man how fast do they go without any problems? im a beginner and i wanna know how long theyd be usefull for me....

    • @KenArmstrong_
      @KenArmstrong_ Před 8 lety

      they have power and loud controlled kick , but they are a bit hard to make them fly , i havent played these pedals in a year and more but when i played them i always felt like it was dificult to keep a double kick rhythym going , as for a begginner , try and go for the long boards i heard theyre real good , or just generic double kick pedals would work too.. Theyre are all kinds of things you could do like getting really good heads for the bass drum with and an alright bass kick pedal will still sound good . . i think for a begginner tho try a single pedal and then go for a double pedal , or start with a double pedal , go for it man have fun!

    Can anyone tell the dimensions of the right pedal? I'm concerned about fitting it on a noise eater platform so I need to know the size in advance (specially the length)

    How do you tighten the spring tension?

    I have the same Roland kit.
    Im not seeing your hi hat control pedal.
    I ordered these pedals for this kit.
    It looks like the width adjustment will allow enough room to move the left drum pedal over right, and give your control pedal room to sit next to it?
    When mine come in, thats what i plan to do.

    The only thing I don't like about it is where the hoop sits at the bottom of rhe pedal there's no padding which would damage the hoop.

      Miguel Lopez go for the 600 or 900 series, they're great for metal, the 200 aren't because of the single chain

      actually i bought the 200 and i have to say that this is actually a great pedal for metal lml... i'm using swivel and they really work.

    Recently I got back into drumming and this pair of pedals was my choice the day I bought new drums. To this day I still feel ripped off. The slave pedal's "beater angle adjustment" keeps coming loose which jams the pedal. I've already tightened the screw in and even stretched the tension adjustment, to no avail. Also, I bought these NEW form GC. If you're a beginner or are simply on a tight budget, I'd recommend you the first double-pedals I bought ages ago-Gibraltar Avenger 6611DB. Cheaper price than this shameful product that doesn't deserve Tama's name and definitely outclasses them. Just a thought from an unsatisfied customer.

      I have noticed much lad on many pedals though I don't have much experience with other pedals it seems the ones that I have had, the slave pedal always has/had lag. Is there other pedals that are designed with no lag?

    • @MyDeadWhisper
      @MyDeadWhisper Před 9 lety

      The lag is less noticeable on high-end double pedals such as Speed Cobras and DW9000, but to have absolutely no lag you'll want two bass drums and single pedals for each. When I made my comment though I was referring to the slave pedal coming loose, got tired of it so I bought some used Iron Cobra P900, no regrets! They're highly sturdy and I get clean, fast kicks yet pack a loud hit.

      @cklaiber Před 4 lety +1

      hey man, can you recommend something better for mesh heads. I'm just getting into electronic drums and don't know what to buy. Thanks!

    • @charrhdr
      @charrhdr Před 4 lety

      @@cklaiber most beaters have a felt side and a hard plastic side. for mesh heads it is recommended to use the plastic side as the felt wears through the mesh heads quickly. Also make sure you use sticks that are in good condition, any splintered wood can tear holes in the heads.
