Amazing story, Maria's heart felt reporting is second to none. Maria is so real, so engaging that it's an honor to watch her.

Watching this made me feel a whole new level of sadness and compassion. In another video that is old is of a news clip, and Reed (at 17) says that he would at least like to be able to get the ventilator off cause that was the hardest part about the accident.. and seeing this all those years later, seeing he still depends on that makes me sad. but it makes me feel so good to know he is happy.

Robert Williams I didn’t need glasses until I was in my mid 20s. Mostly to drive and see clearly in a theater. Reading glasses came later. There is nothing weird about needing glasses as you age.

I wouldn't cope either but some people adapt remarkably well. We can't all be amazing like these people.

I’m a quadriplegic as of July 2015 and it absolutely sucks. It’s a shame our backwards govt dosent allow us free choice of euthanasia or assisted suicide. I mean we lay our pets to rest when they are sick or hurting and they can’t even speak for themselves..

Like, even though your spines are hosed, you are fortunate to still experience some joy in your lives. Richard Milhous would be proud of you. Way to go, babes!

Brian,Hopefully you will reach a point in life and realize what is truly important. If you think going to a bar or beach is all that there is then it's you I feel very sorry for.
