    So, how do you pronounce it: bokeh or bokeh? 🤔😅 Edit: also, note that not all anamorphic lenses have crazy distortions and sharpness fall-off. Some are well controlled when it comes to all that + the real anamorphic look is much more complicated and impossible to replicate. This is a simplified version... 😎💥🔥

    instead of adding an adjustment layer then cropping that (which essentially is still 16:9 but w/ black bars), why not just create a sequence w/ anamorphic ratio? you can still move the clip up or down and not have any black bars in your video.

    Joris, this Video comes just about right in time! I am going to shoot a music video with anamorphic and spherical lenses and have to match them (somehow) haha Thanks as always!

    This was really amazing, been waiting for such a video for a long time. But it looks unrealistic to apply the lens Blur filter to the whole background in the same strenth. I would recommend to use a gradient from foreground to background as mask or the Depth Mask to control the blur.

    for distortion I found better to use a lens distortion effect in Fusion pannel, where you can easly make just corner warp by anamorphic settings, and for bokeh it's better to use radial blur effect with the mask settings as you mentioned. There's also some cool settings in analog tv effect to create fade and a bit distortion too :)

      Yep, love to use the analog damage effect for a lot of different things too 🫡

    It's BaCKGround - and not Bag Ground.

    With just cut out cardboard in front of your lens you can actually make it look very much alike. Unfortunately there wasn't an example of that technique in this video. The downside is that you can't change the aperture without changing the oval cut out. I'm certain it is a decent solution for some 👍

    Ever since update to the new version of Davinci Resolve 18.5.6 has anyone else notice problems with removal of green screens ? it is removing everything ( or adding everything ).
    It is unable to tell the differences between the typical green screen with good lighting, and white and mat white finish tables, brown masking tape, duct tape, and a variety of other objects which are not remotely looking green ( even large items ), not the same light as the green screen, and on a table far away from the green screen.
    Or even large items infront of the green screen that are not remotely green.
    What are the different / new techniques needed in order to remove a green screen these days ?
    Also how to remove the green tinge from around objects.
    Free version - not studio version of Davinci Resolve 18.5.6.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

    The the anamorphic lens has a little more curvature, or something. I doesn't look as flat.

    So as a noob what I am taking away from this is if you want a really good anamorphic lense with less distortion, flare etc, then get a regular lens and crop it! That's probably heresy and I apologise for that.

    • @JorisHermans
      @JorisHermans  Před 5 měsíci +5

      What you should take away is that it's all highly subjective. Some photographers love old polaroid, others hate it. Some want everything perfect, others want to see flaws... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Edit: and some modern anamorphics are much more controlled when it comes to distortion, sharpness and flares. All comes down to what YOU like...

    • @daysandwords
      @daysandwords Před 5 měsíci +1

      The anamorphic look is cinematic BECAUSE of its imperfections. If you remove all those imperfections then you might as well just crop it, yes. But that's exactly why it's obvious when people have cropped it rather than done it properly.

    • @dogdadoutdoors
      @dogdadoutdoors Před 5 měsíci

      @@daysandwords So could I get away with a cheap distorty regular lens and just crop it? Not being combative, I'm coming from photography where you spend thousand pound plus to get a lens without distortion!

      @@dogdadoutdoorsperfection and art are too different things. If you are in pursuit of a technically perfect shot it would be hard to define. Shoot for emotion if it makes you feel right then its right. Unless its meant to make you feel wrong lol

    You will need a latest generation computer. It is cheaper to buy the anamorphic lens. 😅😅😅😂😂😂
