Opinions on all 3 versions: GBA: It was good for its time and in its own way, but if Sega had put a little more effort to make this enjoyable then people wouldn't have to gripe about it. Genesis: A classic on a system that this originated from, amazing to play and fun to experience. Mobile Remaster: One of the best ways to truly enjoy a classic game today. A remastered genesis game for your phone is an excellent version to play on the go.

Back when mobile sonic games used to cost money but didn't use to have any ads, good old times. That was me with sonic 1 and 2 on my Lenovo tablet, I downloaded both via mobogenie or aptoide because they weren't for free back then. Sure I had hard time playing some zones like labyrinth zone act 3, scrap brain zone act 3 and death egg zone but I had lots of fun. I also enjoyed messing with debug mode. Best part was having save state slots to continue where I left off, also the remastered soundtracks were ear-pleasing. While they're for free, it's a shame that there are ads, they're no longer playable offline as they used to be but I still have memories with them. I tried sonic cd on my phone for first time, nice game but I gave up after getting stuck at quartz quadrant zone (probably). I might try again later.

Origins doesn't do 3 and knuckles justice though the rest of the games are good knuckles in CD is a chefs kiss and game gear is messed up on it. It needs knuckles chaotix to survive
This is bascially the Least Good official versions of the game to the Best official version, but the best version in general is definetely Sonic Forever, but thats basically just a mod of the Mobile Port excpet its on the PC because somebody decompiled it, the only way i see it has a chance to get beat atleast in recent times is incase Sonic Origins is really really good

The only thing better about the GBA version is the zone title cards because they have more depth and color to them. Everything else is the other versions is still better though.

Sonic Classic Collection was so underrated that was easily the best way to play the classics until the mobile ports and then the community making beyond definitive ports (sonic 1 forever/sonic 3 air) and now i guess we’ll have sonic origins as hopefully the absolute best way to play these games

the price for the segs ages game is about $8, if you pay for no ads on the mobile version it’s $2.
