Coalfish Madness in Saltstraumen, Norway

In September 2018 we (4 friends from The Netherlands) went to the beautiful location of Saltstraumen in Nord Norway with a special goal: catching coalfish on topwater lures. We had a very good week of fishing: the best fishing of our lives.
This short movie is an impression of the fishing in this anglers' paradise. It was truely awesome!

thanks for this awesome video! i was there like 20 years ago or so and the boat rental guy told us to never every even think about going in the swirly water. he told us it is incredibly dangerous. it seems like you were fishing there all the time.
we will be going there in september and are considering renting a boat for one or two days.

Lekker hoor. Zit er aan te denken ook een keer die kant op te gaan. Bootje noodzakelijk of vanaf de kant met popper ook mogelijk? hoe houd je die boot op z'n plek trouwens tussen die draaikolken? lekker rustig vissen zit er niet in denk?

Just pay attention to your surrouding, always keep the engine running and only cast when the boat is not spinning: the fishing in the strong current is awesome!
