I've done that with cell phones. I took the free financing even though I could have bought it up front.
I agree - James made a very wise business decision. I used to have a tax attorney, financial planner and CPA that managed my money and among the many strategies they encouraged me to use was LEASING cars instead of buying them. I could write off 100% of the lease (for business use). I bought one of the cars at the end of the lease and then sold it - recovered even more of the money the car cost me. :)
Said it perfectly. I too bought my iPhone 15 Pro through Vodafone, put up 50% and financed the rest against 0% and with a 10% discount on the price. Had I bought it outright, I would have had to pay full price anywhere. So would have been dumb not to take it.

James made a good business decision. But the REAL story was that active duty service member who had his Dodge Demon 170 sold out from under him while he was actively deployed. Super/hyper cars are cool but we wouldn’t have the freedom to own these cars were it not for our men and women serving in our military!

Goonzquad promptly delivered a V10 engine to Sheepy after agreeing to a trade. Sheepy then held Goonzquad's Audi R8 for a year to do the traded work that would allegedly fix what B-Rouge bungled. The Goonzquad boys are too nice about the transaction to say directly that they got screwed on the trade, that Sheepy did not do the full clutch upgrade, that they released the car with broken suspension, and that they didn't have the decency to hose off one year of dust before shipping the car.

Being an OG viewer of strad, ik he's gonna buy it outright after a couple of years. I mean if you can enjoy your dream hypercar, and pay off your house with the money you got after selling your last hypercar, that's a win win situation.

I decided to quit move back home, I left my belongings behind packed up along with my Ducati. After years of failed attempts on getting my bike back I took the loss. I have all the text, messages, etc of everything. Recently he paid me $250 bucks and blocked me. He “lost” my bike and sentimental and rare katanas I’ve had for 20 years. He’s truly a scum bag. Did a lot of illegal things when I was there, I have photos proving everything. 100% the truth, my story was mentioned by papa perf when it happened. I made post as well. Alex, I hope You get yours.

Damon and Mike from August gave Strad some great advice for tax purposes and it worked out in Strads favor. Leasing is good for some but not everyone, I write off 2 BMWs on a lease through my business cause it’s a write off. Always get an accountant that knows the tricks.

Sheepy has had problems in the past with other people, it's not a secret in the racing/tuner world. That said, the issues many people seem to have is quality , timely delivery and so on. That would indicate more of a management issue and taking on too many projects rather than a willful intent to deceive and rip off customers. That happens with many guys who get in over their heads or try to do too much. Just my speculation.
Except that strange thing that happens in our world. It's never what it looks like and normally not even close. I believe alot of the problem's come from the pressures and worsened by the talk that always follows any shop leads to mental health issues. We hold onto the dream and our passion gets us deeper. I mean I think that sort of money a month is mad considering I don't even earn £14000 a year as I've had to re career myself at the age of 30 after a complete mental break down at 25 overdosing with a load of drink 25 sleeping pills I spent 2 days in 2 comas 4 days in intensive care when I woke up I was so stressed about going back to the job I was in at the time I had a heart beat of 214 bpm the nurse stood next to me genuinely didn't get how I wasn't having a heart attack but I hope it pays off going into child care and looking after nursery school children.
I’m sorry but paying $35,000 a month for a car for four years is insane no matter how you cut it. There is no guarantee that that car will be worth it in the end or have a higher resale value. You sound clueless about the hyper car world. Imagine the lump sum tax payment involved with purchasing a car worth $5m+? He's saving hundreds of thousands of dollars by leasing and buying out after the 4 years is up. And no guarantee it'll be worth as much? It's a one-off special edition hyper car in a market that has been exploding in recent years. This exact example went from around $3.5m in July 2022 to $5m in Mar 2023 alone. This car is an investment that will only grow with time due to its rarity as a 1 of 1. Also - you'd have to be insane to think a hyper car of this value isn't properly insured regardless of who's at fault.
No the point of the matter is he spent over $1 million on a car just for CZcams entertainment and now he is stuck paying $35,000 a month just for our entertainment in 10 minute video segments that we will only see the car for maybe 7 to 8 minutes four times a month. Unfortunately, James is still caught up in the pandemic hype of sport cars, where he feels like he hast to constantly buy a car every month or every other month, to keep our attention . Imagine if he just had a solid lineup of maybe 3 to 4 cars that he did full body carbon kits on. and did general racing. And he is around enough supercars /hyper cars that it really doesn’t even matter if he owned himself as long as he has the video footage to show us. What type of car is he is around. That would indicate more of a management issue and taking on too many projects rather than a willful intent to deceive and rip off customers. That happens with many guys who get in over their heads or try to do too much. Just my speculation.
Except that strange thing that happens in our world. It's never what it looks like and normally not even close. I believe alot of the problem's come from the pressures and worsened by the talk that always follows any shop leads to mental health issues. We hold onto the dream and our passion gets us deeper. BUT people also have to remember that youtube is a business and they have to worry about money. I have been a sub of James since 50k subs. I don’t always agree with what he does. But I wouldn’t watch if I was a hater. CZcams is a business. Ultimately it’s his money. If he saves money this way, that’s up to him. I just question why he put this out there so soon. Why not make four or five videos with the car and then release this information, ultimately, it would’ve sparked the views again. James has never had a management company or anyone telling him what to do or how to do it. And I think sometimes he needs a little guidance. I think him and Houston have had this plan for a while. You sound clueless about the hyper car world. Imagine the lump sum tax payment involved with purchasing a car worth $5m+? He's saving hundreds of thousands of dollars by leasing and buying out after the 4 years is up.
And no guarantee it'll be worth as much? It's a one-off special edition hyper car in a market that has been exploding in recent years. This exact example went from around $3.5m in July 2022 to $5m in Mar 2023 alone. This car is an investment that will only grow with time due to its rarity as a 1 of 1.
Also - you'd have to be insane to think a hyper car of this value isn't properly insured regardless of who's at fault.
No the point of the matter is he spent over $1 million on a car just for CZcams entertainment and now he is stuck paying $35,000 a month just for our entertainment in 10 minute video segments that we will only see the car for maybe 7 to 8 minutes four times a month.
Unfortunately, James is still caught up in the pandemic hype of sport cars, where he feels like he hast to constantly buy a car every month or every other month, to keep our attention .
Imagine if he just had a solid lineup of maybe 3 to 4 cars that he did full body carbon kits on. and did general racing. He was still have the viewership that he has now is to the point now or really don’t care about the cars that he buys is more about. What is he doing in his daily life.
And he is around enough supercars /hyper cars that it really doesn’t even matter if he owned himself as long as he has the video footage to show us. What type of car is he is around. I could name at least five or six cars off the top of my head that he has that are worth over $2 million combined that we haven’t even seen in months.
