- Upgrade Your Dyson V10 or V11 to a LASER Fluffy Head. In this short video I demonstrate that the Dyson V15 Laser fluffy head works on the V10. I'm wondering if it will work on the Dyson V8 and V11? Let me know. 971360-01

Compatibility Note
V7, V8, V10, and V11 cleaning heads are compatible with each other. At least to the degree that they will click in and turn on. But keep in mind the V10 and V11 have motors that are pretty strong so they are a great match for the fluff laser head. Models V7, V8 don’t produce enough power compared to the V10 or V11, the fluffy head should work fine but I wouldn’t recommend putting any other head on the machine and heads for other machines like the standard V10 or V11 or even the V15 cleaning head are heavier and require more power to run compared to the fluffy V15 laser head.
Also, I’m not 100% sure about potential warranty issues when deciding to put another head from another machine on. Just be aware and do some thinking.
I love having the V15 laser fluffy on my V10 and I’m willing to take the chance myself.
So if you ask me, if you have a V10 or standard V11
(Non oversized model) this should work fine.

I have V6 slim, V6 Animal, V6 Absolute, V7 Motorhead, V8 Absolute, V11 Torque Drive, & V11 Absolute Extra & V11 Outsize & regularly use my V11 Outsize head, with my V11 Absolute & V8 Absolute wand as I'm 6'5" & having the longer wand is awesome!
They all intermingle apart from the V6 stuff obviously. The Battery in the V11 Torque Drive is the same style as the V10(screw in) but the others are 'click in' which would be fantastic if the batteries weren't $200 a pop!

I saw at the Dyson shop that they have two different versions. They both have slightly different connections. You can see the difference in the pictures if you look closely. Take a good look at your current brush to see if the red button is the same. I don't know if both versions will fit on the same vacuum cleaner. Thanks for the help full video! I have a v10 absolute and just ordered the laser brush :)

I can actually confirm this. Just received some accessories (incl. the laser head) from a friend whose v15 broke, and the connector does not fit my v10 cyclone. The red button connection is indeed different (circular vs oblong). Are there any known workarounds for this?

Wow! We were literslly gonna upgrade to the V15 just because we liked the laser!! Awesome to know i can save some cash and just buy the attachment seperatly
The problem now is you can hardly find the accessory. It seems to always be out of stock. You might have to check eBay, but be aware there are some fake out there.

The dyson v15 is currently on sale for $649 us definitely compare the price of the machine versus getting the part the v15 is a great machine

This is exactly what I was trying to figure out. I want the V15 they are out of stock. I am debating between the Outsize for extra battery and suction. However, part of me is worried about the weight difference being annoying. It's Black Friday so I am trying to figure out which route to go (model to grab between BB, QVC, Costco etc). I was concerned if I didn't get v15, v8 or a v10 model that came with a soft brush it would work. So is it safe to assume that anything red connect will fit across models?
Hi Nicole, I still use the v10 and the new V15 they are both good machines, the laser head might be back ordered so keep that in mind, check Dyson’s website. Bottom line if you can get the latter head and the Dyson V10 that’s enough it works great and you will save. Older machines than the V10 I’d be cautious they might not be powerful enough. One last thing, there is a chance you can voice a warranty using heads that are not designed for certain models. I’m not sure but I wanted to point that out. The Dyson V11 (not outsized) is nice also, not sure what deals are going on. Last thing! I believe the V11 and V15 offer snap on batteries you can buy, that’s super helpful. From what I know the V10 isn’t a snap on but I believe you can order a replacement battery from Dyson that has to be screwed on ( please check this before buying by calling or emailing Dyson 866-693-9766 ). @@danissqc4176 I got curious and actually bought the standard (red/purple) fluffy head and regularly switch between that and the laser (purple/yellow) fluffy just to see if I really notice a reduction in battery.. If I have it on Max suction the entire time I maybe will get 30-45sec less with the laser… honestly though the laser head is much better as picking up debris in just the normal suction mode when compared to to normal with the older fluffy head…. So essentially im able to go over the floors faster and pick it all up with the laser before I even need to worry about running out…
I find that I get more battery running out anxiety when using the standard v8 carpet motor head as i go alot slower over the carpets which results in less area covered..
I also have x3 other v7 animal models that I generally use the laser with and I cant really say I regret getting the laser cuz it’s honestly so much smoother at rolling around the tight corners or under furniture that the laser beam is only half of the reason to love that fluffy head… the “ agility” of it on hard surfaces is simply incredible.

The V8 and V11 are also compatible with the V15 laser head too.
V15 laser head is perfect matched for my V8. What's more, the power of V8 origin fluffy is 20w, while the new V15 laser fluffy head is only 15w (same voltage 16.2V). So power is not a porblem for V8. Enjoy!

Will it fit V11 with LED screen. I think it’s absolute I’m more curious about wattage if it’s compatible power wise
@bobbysupreme1 not sure, never owned that model. I believe it should fit the standard size v11 but not the outsized model but I can't be 100% sorry
are you saying the laser head will work on a v8? i want to purchase a dyson purely because of the laser but if i can get a cheaper entry point used v8 and buy a laser head that would be perfect for me
I don’t have a V8 but I do not think it will fit
I’m not supprised the dyson v10 and up all fit and they just fit and work with all its attachments now I would not suggest go putting the floor head of the one even older then the v10 like the v8 because the wattage and stuff isn’t the same so it may fry it or it’s not good for it but yes the head of the v15 and it’s other new attachments like that and even the anti tangle turbo tool will work on the v10 all outsize and v15 models

Hi thank you, I’ve never used those but it is small, I was trying to find the dimensions but they aren’t listed, want me to measure the height for you?
Its much smaller and the height is noticeably lower, It is able to glide right under the cabinet decorative floor wood trim where the standard fluffy and standard motor head get stuck

I own a Dyson v10 animal and after seeing this video I went and bought this new fluffy optic . But unfortunately the connectors are completely different. It is not as described in the video.
Hello, thank you for your video. I’m at work so I couldn’t hear much but I do have a question in case I missed it. I have a dyson v7, and I’m reading up on how the v10 wands fit the v7, is this true? And if so, would I be able to fit the new laser with the build I want to do?

you may be using the v12 laser head which has a different red connector, i have been doing a lot of research on this topic and found the v12 attachment is not compatible with any others, you need the v15 one specifically since it has the same attachment part as the v11,v10,v8, and v7
I wonder if the laser attachment would work on the v11. I picked up a v11 animal, and I’d love to put that attachment on.
To my knowledge the V 11 has the same attachment as the V10 the V11 outsized doesn't that's the extra large version. I don't have a V11 so I can't guarantee it

Can you test fit if the dust bin / battery and filter fit v15 main body??
I have 2 v11 with laser fluffy but I want to have the new v15 detect main body. It is sold as a spare part on Dyson website

Not that I know of, dyson might void your warranty since it's not made for it but the v11 has the power. I love that thing!

most attachments always works as long as theres the contacts to provide power; the issue is when the motor for the cleaning head demands more and the older vacuums have smaller batteries
runtime will be drastically reduced since you can compare the voltage of the heads on the label differs from the head type
i would liek to get the anti tangle brush heads cause those are more self cleaning than the other ones that dyson originally said it was supposed to do

I've just bought a V10. Borrowed my Mums v15 head, it didn't fit. The sizes are different. I have a v10 absolute. My mums is a v15 slim.

Hey good to see you it's been a while my recommendation is go to a Kohl's Walmart or BestBuy bring one of your attachments and see if it fits on the V10 or V11 (not the outsized V11) that's a huge one, if your attachment fits order it it's worth it
I have a v8 and bought the laser head and it works flawlessly. Runtime doesn't seem to be dramatically reduced, though I maybe lose about a min or two of runtime on max power. I would definitely recommend if you have lots of hard wood / tile to vacuum. Its amazing

They make multiple laser heads now for a few models, the one I use was from the V15 detect

It doesn't work. V15 has a different mount to V10
