    There are some small errors in the video and some things I did not explain ... sorry guys ... so here a bit more about that:
    - I'm just adding three 2.5 ml measuring spoon full of granular shock (Clorox 6 in 1 Pool&Spa Shock, 12-Pack: amzn.to/2I57LnM) per day in this 200 gal hot tub, regardless of the chlorine level (free chlorine will be low anyway every day in the morning with this routine)
    - Apart from that I'm only checking the PH value and adjust it (in 99% of the cases if adjustment was needed then I needed the 'down')
    - All other chemicals I ignore, because they are 1st thing not so important and 2nd thing sometimes hard to impossible to correct and hence I prefer to dump the water every 2-3 months, clean and dry the hot tub and then refill with fresh water (something which you can't do with a pool ;-))
    Hope this helps ... if you have any further question, don't hesitate to ask ;-))

    Hey thanks for the video, just got a hot tub and am really struggling with the balancing act of chemicals, looking for a daily routine like this to stick to...
    Couple of questions:
    1. You really run your hot tub for 8 hours a day? Do you keep the cover on for this? Is it killing your electric bill?
    2. You defined it in mgs, but in teaspoon terms... You're basically doing 3 teaspoons a day of 6 in 1 Chlorine/Shock, and you're never having to add straight chlorine or do full high dose shocks?
    Thanks so much!

    • @allcheckout
      @allcheckout  Před 4 lety +2

      1. Yes - I let it run for about 8 to 10 hours a day - otherwise it tends to turn green much faster - it's like in a normal pool. I think it was around $30 per month to let it run during the day and heat it up every now and then. And yes - I kept it covered all the time except when using otherwise it cools down quite fast and heating up will take very long. If you decide for chlorine tabs (which never worked for me) I think you would have to leave the cover open to assure break-down of the chlorine ....
      2. No ... I think this is some kind of 'high dose shock' every day if you consider the few amount of water in the SPA. At least it was enough to keep everything in good condition. Much better than with tabs.

    Why do you bother with the test strips when you just put the same amount of chemical in every day? No need to test.

      There are some corrections possible and when the values are totally off and almost impossible to correct then dump the water - hence testing is still needed
