Yea, then along came the K car. Lol! A huge congratulations on your purchase. Another one saved! Hat tip to the M body Chryslers. These are the perfect mid sized sedans and like you mentioned above, it's more than a car, but an experience. The pillow topped Kimberly cloth, nothing can beat it. One day, I'll never forget, I had the sunroof open ( sunroof/ moon roof. Who the hell knows lol) open going through a Dunkin donuts drive thru, and this girl who served my coffee said, holy crap, those seats look so comfortable. I said definitely. The "arctic white" Chrysler 5th Avenue was my second car. My Mom and Dad bought it for me for my 21st birthday for $1k (what a deal it was). It had 60k miles on it and the blue interior like yours. My Dad brought it home and worked hard washing it. By the time it was done it looked pristine. Every bit as good as yours. I did'nt appreciate that I was driving such a classic at the time. I thought it was a car my grandpa would drive. But the car grew on me. So well made and fun to drive. Smooth. Thanks for posting this. Great memories. I would almost like to find another one to drive now......but they are much more expensive now and not easy to find.

I really enjoyed reading your experiences with your Chrysler.. You've definitely proved my point that a car really is much more that a car. It's one of the few objects that can really talk you back to a time and a place. On my youtube page there is my 84 Caddy Biarritz. I"m not a Cadillac guy what so ever.
But way back in the mid 80s, when I got home from school, I befriended a man from Jamaica. Not Queens , but Caribbean Jamaica. We'd sit and talk in his car for hours just waiting for a parking spot to open up in front of our buildings. This was in the Bronx. His car was a gorgeous Salmon color with a rich dark brown leather seats. It was gorgeous. One day he told me he's moving back home to Jamaica and h'e taking his buggy with him
I had such memories of our chats. 20 some odd years later, A similiar car came into my lap. And older man bought the Caddy for his wife, and she didn't like it, we cut a deal. I since sold that car.
The Triple Gold with the kimberly cloth was high on my list. The first time I layed eyes on one, fresh from the factory, man, it was love at first site! This one and the white one are defiantly keepers. Thanks again man. I really appreciate your experiences!

I actually wanted the triple gold 5Th avenue in the first place. Let me tell you. I'd be better off playing pick 6. Not many out there. I was dead set against the leather (fine Corinthian leather) more on that later 🤫 it had to have the Kimberly cloth (velour) the optional light group was high on the importance list, not a deal breaker. So, that's a pretty narrow search filter 😕 either all the wrong colors, or they were beat to shit. Kimberly cloth was a must. Now then...fine Corinthian leather? Lolol!!! It meant absolutely nothing. Ricardo Montelbon him self said the marketers needed something that sounded good 😊😊😊😊😊. I think it was on the Merv Griffen TV show where Montelbon said this with a smile. 100,000 miles! You're now at the bench mark. Back in those days, people would say it was a big deal for a car to make it that far. I don't think I will see a 100,000 miles for another 20 years. I don't drive my car in the snow, in the rain, or even after it rained. Yearly mileage is roughly 800 miles. I bought it off an auctioneer in 2014 with 68,512 miles. I'd delete those mud flaps, mud flaps aren't "luxury". People with money don't like mud flaps, maybe on a truck. That car would look so much better with them.

I'd like to point out the difference between a mudflap and a splash guard. Please do not take this as I'm trying to demean you. I'm not a big fan of electronic communication.
You'd typically find mudflaps in trucks. They are often huge and made of thick rubber.
My Chrysler has what's called splash guards. While they are fully functional, should I ever get stuck coming back from. A car show and it starts to rain, it would keep water and all kinds of road nasties out of the small crevices, harboring water.
I do however like and have always liked the look of a splash guard. My LTDII has them as well.
All that said, thank you for your input!

@@styldsteel1 Well whatever you all them, they all do the same thing. I just don't like them, just look redneck to me. But yeah, otherwise that is a nice car.
