This video gives me hope!!! I am so emotional about my results because i am botched up. I documented the experience but have yet to share. I did the surgery and endes up having to go back to remove these weird lumps. Then i noticed one eye was sleepy and other looks wide. Smh. This last surgery just broke my heart! I just pray that it will look better in a few more months. 🙏🏽
I absolutely love this video because you are a woman of color and I wasnt sure what the results would look like on Us. You look amazing and you have just sold me on going to get my bags removed too. I had been considering it for a while now. The more and more I wait the more and more I become insecure so thank you for this video.
I just had it done 5 days ago and have had a wonderful experience. Go to someone u feel comfortable with. My doctor was top 5 made me feel very comfortable I’m going to post my post op videos after day 10. I’m on day five and the swelling is down significantly.

You’re welcome! Girl, I def know the struggle. It really does something to your self esteem. It was so worth it, in my opinion. Thanks for watching & leaving feedback, and best wishes if you decide to do it!
I'm having mine done on March 28th, and I'm TERRIFIED! Being awake scares the hell out of me, among other things that scare me. The pain, the length of healing, what I might look like...I'm just terrified. My doctor is going to cut me inside the eyelid. Thank you for showing us everything, I really appreciate you being for open to everyone about it all. Your eyes look incredible. You're gorgeous, and your doctor did a great job.
Your under eyes look amazing. I thought about this when i was watching one of your makeup application videos. Thou healed perfectly. I didn't realize that it was a year ago. Good for you!
I watched this last year. 3 weeks ago I had the same procedure done (with the relocation of some fat). Real interesting stuff, I’m glad you shared! I’m very happy with my results so far, and I think it will only get better!
I know this is an old video but I just wanted to thank you because you sharing your journey led to me finally getting this surgery done. I had researched having a blepharoplasty since 2012, but it was your videos that helped ease my fears. This past January, I had a lower blepharoplasty with fat transfer to counteract hollowness. It was done while I was awake and like you, my left eye had more fat in it than my right eye. I came back to this video because I recalled you having a long recovery before you would see full results. Right now it's a little over 3 weeks and my left eye is still a little swollen and I still have darkness under my eyes, but knowing that eventually everything will start to even itself out makes me feel alot better. Right now I've been wearing makeup to work, however I can already feel a change in my confidence level. Thank you again for sharing your experience😊
@caroketges2002 Sorry, I'm just seeing this. I'm healing fine, but I'm having the dark circles under my eyes and on and off puffiness as well. It's been about 6 weeks since I had the surgery, and I'm very happy I did it even with the circles and puffiness. The only con for me with the dark circles is that I have to wear makeup every day, but I have noticed it's fading slowly but surely.
Both videos, before and after have been so helpful to see for a Black Woman. So happy for you. I'm getting a lower Blepharoplasty consult tomorrow...send prayers and positive vibes my way please. Peace...and your before and after pics look great...impressive Sis. Thank you so much for all the detailed info, dry eyes, itching, 8months total to heal...very helpful. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Thank you for detailing your procedure so vividly. Today is day 4 post op and my swelling had lessened considerably. I’ve wanted this done for at least a decade or more and although I’m far from complete healing, I’m so glad I had it done. I’m not brave enough to show pictures, but your procedure helped me to feel more comfortable about it. Thank you!!

I'm nervous of course, but looking forward to taking years off my face and not always looking like I need more sleep. So happy about your journey and grateful you shared it with us.
I’m in week 2 of my post-op. My eyes bags are gone but my eyes appears hallow and now I think I have dark circles under my eyes with the fat lost. I don’t know if it’s too soon to make judgement of my decision but I’m having a mental breakdown. 😭
This video was very helpful !!!! I had my upper and lower lids done almost three weeks ago and I was concerned as to how long it really takes for complete results.Your video helped me a lot. Thanks very much and God bless

Thank you for your honesty. A lot to think about, for sure. I'm so happy for you. Having come from a history of people with "suitcases" under their eyes...I so want this done. Will check out your other video!
Thank you for sharing your experience. I am almost 1 month post surgery for both upper and lower blepharoplasty. I have been searching for other people’s experiences. Most of them are a month or less post surgery. It’s good to hear from you that I need to be patience with the final result. I had the stitches on the outside on the lower eyelids with bags removal. I have an olive complexion and it is still a little darkish red. The lower incisions area is still a little tender to the touch. For those who are thinking of having it done, the pain is very minimal. I wouldn’t had mine done if I didn’t have a friend who had it done and shared her experience with me. It looked way worse or scary I should say than it is painful. I had a local anesthesia. The injection from the needle was a little painful and I only took 1 pill of pain medicine and I didn’t need it anymore. She’s right about the yo yo effects on swelling, lumps and bumps.
Thank you for the details regarding your procedure and healing process. I am scheduled to have this same procedure this coming April. I scheduled it so far away to give myself time to mentally prepare and do extensive research. Your details have helped feel better about the whole process. You look beautiful before & after your surgery!
Thank you for your post! I have recently had the same procedure and am having the same symptoms. They don't really tell you what to expect when you are at the consult and I am learning day by day. Your eyes look great by the way!
@@iriscruz2209 Hi Iris, I am about 11 weeks in and it has been up and down. Some days my eyes look great, and then others not so much. My right eye had more work done and I had a small ball of fluid on the side of my eye, which started to go down around the end of last month. My plastic surgeon said to rub it lightly a few times a day, which I did and it seemed to help. Right now I have a tiny tube like bag under the right eye which comes and goes. My eyes still feel a little tight and I don't have a lot of feeling on the lower lids, putting mascara on is interesting. Some days they can look a little crêpe, but can look fine the next day. When I sneeze or shut them quickly because I was surprised, it is a little painful. I do use a heated eye mask that I purchased and it helps with minor swelling. Hope this helps and I will let you know if anything else comes up :-)
@wyi56hzuk75f Hi! My eyes have healed completely and I am glad I got the surgery. Shortly after my last post they started to heal more and weren't as tight and the feeling is back on the lower lids. Since I have had the surgery I don't get the "you look tired" comments anymore from people and the bags are completely gone. I do still have to use under eye cream because my skin under my eyes gets dry at times and it really helps.

I’m glad I found ur video. Im about to get this procedure done. Just like you and others, I’m tired of looking tired even when I’m not, extremely tired of people saying where’d u get those bags, or what happened? I remember one time I was In a minor car accident, went to the hospital just to get checked, and the guy that walked me to the back asked me why I was here, is it because of your eyes? I wanted to cry. I hate taking pictures, I. I’m so self-conscious about them that I always say something about them before anyone else can say something about them. I waited long enough to get this done. I’m excited. Thank you for your helpful video.
Wow! I know your pain all too well. I know some people may mean well when they comment or ask questions, but it still hurts nonetheless. Wishing you so much success with your procedure & I hope it changes your life for the better ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you! Thank you! I am at the beginning stages of my prep/research for having this procedure. The info you shared was so helpful 🙂 btw: Your surgery came out great and your eyes look SO natural! I will be sure to watch your first vid on this 😃
Thank you for this. I’m African American also and wanted to know how it would look on women of color. I’m so insecure about my bags. I love you listed the location & price because many people don’t.
Thank you so much ! Its been a month since i did it and im still swelling , dark circles and my skin texture under my eye is different. This video helped me a lot. You look amazing so happy for you!
great video!! im about five days post surgery. i had the incision on the inside but was awake for it. my fat bags were repositioned though and not removed so maybe that is why I was able to do local anesthesia. looking forward to seeing how things look in the coming weeks. thanks for sharing your story!!
I watched your video on your way to surgery YOU LOOK GREAT!!! I'm scheduled for a consultation in three days after months of cold spoons, eye pads, etc.
I think that people don't realize how long it takes for the face to recoup after any plastic surgery procedure. It's good to go into these procedures with eyes wide open. Excuse the pun. Lol
😂 This tickled me, but you’re so right. It’s easy to think things will be back to normal in a week or two, but realistically it takes closer to a full year!
Hey Ms.Monae hey in considering getting the lower Eyebag surgery but I’m trying to find the right surgeon.I currently live in ohio but honestly these people are different here so I was wondering if you could help me please. Where did you get yours done cause you look great
You look beautiful! I am super happy for you and thinking about having it done. But after I saw your surgery video, I freaked out. No way I could do this fully awake. You are such a badass.
First, you look lovely both before and after, but I know how it feels to have the bags. I have always had them. Mine were inherited and got worse with age. So... I had a lower blepharoplasty and tear trough implants LAST THURSDAY. Today is Tuesday lol so I'm definitely still healing. My whole face is swollen, but especially around my eyes obviously. But, believe it or not, there has been NO pain at all! It's uncomfortable for sure, but it doesn't hurt. I'm off from work until the New Year. I feel pretty good. I just wish I didn't look so bad so I could go in public! I hope the swelling goes down enough that people don't notice when I go back to work because I didn't tell anyone what I was doing.
Thanks so much, Penelope! And that's awesome. I'm really glad your surgery went well & you're healing well. I really hope your swelling goes down as well. I know how you feel. I didn't tell many people initially, but eventually talked about it. You never know what kinda judgment people will cast by things like this. I wish you all the best & Happy Holidays to you! xoxo
Penelope Pitstop Hi this is the same for me. I’m getting my lower done next month and don’t want anyone knowing or asking questions at work lbs. How are your eyes healing now? Are you happy so far with the results? What are tear implants?
Michelle McGee I am about 6 weeks post op now. My left eye looks pretty good. It’s nice and smooth where the bag was before. It has taken until the last week or 2 to finally see the smoothness. My right eye... to be honest I feel like I still have the bags! I have a small welt under my eye and I can still see the dark circle. My surgeon said it is still healing, but we shall see. I’m a little disappointed in that eye so far. The tear trough implant is a small implant they put in the bone there. It was supposed to take away the hollowness there, but so far I’m not noticing it and I’m getting frustrated.
Penelope Pitstop Im sure it will heal properly, it’s only been six weeks so you should be good, God willing. By six months, the other eye should heal beautifully like the other eye. I’m encouraged that you say that one eye is nice and smooth. Happy healing and smooth, bag free eyes for both of us! 😊
Thanks for the update! I am thinking about getting this done, and I have watched videos of other WOC who got this procedure done. One woman said that she had an issue of discoloration (dark circles under the eye) after the procedure. They did go away after a few months, but I was just wondering if you had they issue as well. Thanks in advance!
Hello! Yes, I had an issue with darkness for several months. I think it was because of bruising. It all went away tho thankfully. Good luck if you get the procedure! ❤️
You look great, I have my money saved for this but I’m so scared. I know this will be emotional, what if I cry during the healing process? Thank you for doing this video. :) I’m sick of people thinking I look tired, grumpy and older than I am.
Take the plunge I did after many years of people asking did I get hit in my eye( I had a fat pad under one eye that was bigger than the other eye) or I didn’t get enough sleep. Concealer made it look worse
@stop asking me to change my name! 8 to 12 months is the full recovery period. You will go thru alot of swelling.Be patient.Doc was very confident and reassured me all the way.The cortisone shot only to 'break up' any induce scaring.
@stop asking me to change my name! Btw a lower eyelid blepharoplasty is the only way to get rid of eyebags don't let laser docs tell you it cant be done with heating technology. These too many clinics are claiming laser can rid orbital fat around eyes.Cannot!
I'm at the six week mark of my lower eye lid surgery and im still waiting for more of the swelling in my (L) eye to ho down. Its literally up and down. Good in the morning and swells in the evening. It was great l looking at your video as a woman of color. My take is its period of healing that could go on for months before you see the results. Uour thoughts🙂
Lookin really good! Did they resurface under your eyes with a laser? They do that so the skin looks smooth and new. I’ve gotten the same questions about being tired or crying, etc. I wanted to just say yes, so I had an excuse. I am having the surgery soon, and am scared a bit. I’ve heard a lot of people stating that they still have lines, dark circles afterwards. What concealer do you use, it looks fantastic. You’ve given me encouragement, thank you.
Thank you! My surgeon didn't do any laser resurfacing. I'm not sure if it's because my incisions were inside. But the Stri-Vectin cream worked miracles for me! I currently use Tarte Shape Tape concealer, but even without concealer it's not terribly bad in my opinion.
Thank you for the update you looked great with and w/o the puffiness but I can understand how u feel bc I suffer from eye bags and it does mess with your self-esteem. Like I'm confident but I get worried about not getting enough rest or certain lighting bc they'll show more. I'm a bit older than u and even at my age it still bothers me. I mostly avoid looking directly at ppl and I wear sunglasses during the day to hide my eyes. I plan on getting the surgery this year...I have a consultation next wk. Oh by the way the slight puffiness under your right eye gives your eyes character and makes the fact that u had surgery not noticeable.
You’re welcome! And Thanks so much for your kind words & for watching both videos. It’s crazy how much something like this can affect a person’s self esteem, but it definitely does. I hope everything works out great for you with your consultation & procedure, and it helps your confidence shoot through the roof! I’d love to hear how it all went once you’re done 💕
Had mine 2 weeks ago. The swelling and bruising went down very quickly and my results looked great, but this week, my eyes look the exact same as they did before the surgery. Not sure why but I will give it some time.
Great video. I had some filler put under my eyes to help with this and don’t really like it. When I was there the doctor strongly recommended I do the lower blephoraplsty. I think I will go for it once the pandemic settles and the plastic surgeon’s office is open again. I am going to go watch your other video. By the way, your results are amazing. It made you even more beautiful
Can you do another update on your eye surgery video?! I want to go to Korea to get mine done but I’m trying to understand how it looks over the years after
Hi which did you have The transcutaneous (outside incision) for extra skin & fat or transconjunctival ( inside) remove the fat only I had the the transcutaneous blep on 8 weeks ago and each corner eye has the anchor marks which I was told by the dr it will heal in time . I can't wait for them to disappear😄 I'm using Scar rollerball & ScarAway silicone for the marks .I too have the darkness under my eyes and I'm using black & white bleaching cream. It is truly an experience and we prayerfully have to be patient with healing process.😩 It may take at least 3-4 months to 1 year to feel fully recovered mentally & physically. Congrats My Sisters the Best it yet to come. Blessings & Healing
How was recovery caring for a little one? I'm having surgery soon and my baby will be turning 1. Did you need someone helping you pick up your child, etc
Thanks Connie!! Honestly, I’m not sure if that’s what it was. I never did get it examined by my doctor because he was over an hour away and I was just plain lazy to dry there for it 😆 I’m glad it went away though!
I’m at day 37 post op and still feel my lower lid is swollen which is fine and to be expected, I do feel concerned that the lower lid feels a little turned out or droopy, did you feel this? Your face looks so pretty after a full 12 months maybe I too just need to trust the process and be patient ,,,
I had this procedure two years ago and was suppose to have the same type of bleph as you with no outward scar. But they ended up removing skin leaving me with some dirty extended scars. More so on my right eye. Trying to use derma rolling and mederma to see if i can make them less deep.

Wow! That's a steal! Were you nervous to get it done there?
Not at all. And I never felt any pain. That was the amazing part
Did you have a translator ? If you don't mind would you share your doctor? I've heard surgeries are cheaper in Korea
@@ninaedwards345 yes they speak English
It's called mizain. Google it and you can get in touch with him. Tell her I recommended you. You might get discount. Lol
Thanks for the update, you look great! I just had it done 6 days ago and still have puffiness at my lower eyelids, hope this getting better
How are your results what exactly did you have done ?
@@DJMonae thank you. Went today and scheduled to have it done 4/19...🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@missladye2634 how are you doing?
Thank you! Thank you! I am at the beginning stages of my prep/research for having this procedure. The info you shared was so helpful 🙂 btw: Your surgery came out great and your eyes look SO natural! I will be sure to watch your first vid on this 😃
Thanks so much & best wishes to you!
Omg...I don't have 8 months! Thanks for telling me!! I needed ALL this information. You look marvelous...byw🥰
Thank you, Toni!! Best wishes with everything 🥰
Thank you for this. I’m African American also and wanted to know how it would look on women of color. I’m so insecure about my bags. I love you listed the location & price because many people don’t.
You look amazing! I had it done and I would do it again in a heartbeat 💓
Thank you so much ! Its been a month since i did it and im still swelling , dark circles and my skin texture under my eye is different. This video helped me a lot. You look amazing so happy for you!
Thanks so much, Liliana! Happy healing to you ❤️
Did you have on-again/off-again puffiness? I just had lower bleph done 12 days ago and that's what I'm experiencing 😩
Try almond oil. That’s what I used. I’m going to post my own bleph docu soon.
great video!! im about five days post surgery. i had the incision on the inside but was awake for it. my fat bags were repositioned though and not removed so maybe that is why I was able to do local anesthesia. looking forward to seeing how things look in the coming weeks. thanks for sharing your story!!
I plan on getting Transconjunctival Blepharoplasty (inside incision) how long was your recovery?
Thank you, thank you so much for your experience.
Looks so good. Having done in August, can’t wait
Best of luck!
Just got mine done a week ago while being awake, still got some brusing
You look great!!! I think from what you described and the way you look, it was worthwhile.
Thank you, Joan 🤗
Thank you so much for sharing this journey!!
Absolutely! Thanks for tuning in 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing your progress!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching 😊
I watched your video on your way to surgery YOU LOOK GREAT!!! I'm scheduled for a consultation in three days after months of cold spoons, eye pads, etc.
Thank you for this video. You look amazing, beautiful results.
Thank you soooooooo much!
I really needed to hear this.
Uko
very sharp lady, well spoken
Thank you!! ❤️
Eyes look great!
My God Peachy your eyes look incredible.
Thanks so much!!
You are gorgeous! I had this done 1 week ago, I am a mess😩
Thank you!! Aww, it'll definitely get much better for you with time. Hang in there!
I needed to hear that 😩 4!weeks post op🥺
You look amazing!! What a difference. At what point did you notice a great difference? 2 month mark or 3 month??
Hey Ms.Monae hey in considering getting the lower Eyebag surgery but I’m trying to find the right surgeon.I currently live in ohio but honestly these people are different here so I was wondering if you could help me please. Where did you get yours done cause you look great
What did you pay? I am so glad you said you *would* do it again if you could choose. If you had said no I would be so sad! I really want this...
I paid around $3100 for my procedure.
You look amazing,I had it done about 1yr ago and it was the best thing i did too.Cheers
Thank you, Jillian! It truly is the best thing I've done as well!
Michelle McGee thank you, I hope so too!
These videos are helping me, thank you
I am meeting with doctors to hopefully have the operation soon
I can relate 100%! It’ll be ok though. Emotions may come & go, but it’s so worth it! Thanks for watching 😍
Take the plunge I did after many years of people asking did I get hit in my eye( I had a fat pad under one eye that was bigger than the other eye) or I didn’t get enough sleep. Concealer made it look worse
You look great!! Thinking about having the surgery. Did you do the fat transfer?
Thank you for sharing
I had mine done 2 months ago.A lump suddenly appeared under both eyes after 7 weeks. Not sure how long they will be there.Your vids are helping me.
Thank you, Connie! I’m glad they’re helpful to you & best wishes with your healing!
SuperConnie ummm..what? Do you still have them?! Sorry to hear that.
@stop asking me to change my name! Doc injected some cortisone to breakup the scar lump. 1 week later lump has reduced a lot.
Awesome video! I will consider this procedure!
Your healing process was crazy! Did you expect that long of a healing process? What did the doctor say about that extensive healing process?
I did expect it. He told me that basically everything that happened would happen. So I was prepared. It was still annoying tho!
I healed pretty fast I love my results I can’t wait to post so look out soon for my video.
Gosh I can’t wait to do this
Lookin really good!
You look AMAZING!!
You are a gorgeous lady! Thank you for sharing!
How is it going ?
Who was your surgeon? Warn us please 🙏
It was extremely helpful especially for black people.🙏❤
I had this surgery two weeks ago. My right eye looks great but my left eye has the lump you spoke of. Uggghh
Thank you for sharing your experience.
Thanks for sharing this! I'm considering this myself. Did the surgery change the shape of your eyes, even by the slightest fraction??
My pleasure! I honestly saw no difference whatsoever in my eye shape. They’re still very almond shaped.
Thank you, Antoinette! Best wishes with your procedure when you decide to do it. It’s worth it!
Can you do another update on your eye surgery video?! I want to go to Korea to get mine done but I’m trying to understand how it looks over the years after
You look great ...👍👍i had surgery too ,the fat pads on my eyes remove...
Hey thanks for the video. Did the dark circles caused by procedure go away? Thanks
Just had mines done on the 26 the of april 9 days in and I look better then I did before the surgery
So helpful!
Hi, Did you have general anesthesia or local? Thanks! (You look gorgeous!)
Hi which did you have
The transcutaneous (outside incision) for extra skin & fat or transconjunctival ( inside) remove the fat only
I had the the transcutaneous blep on 8 weeks ago and each corner eye has the anchor marks which I was told by the dr it will heal in time .
You look 5 years younger!
Awww thank you!!
How was recovery caring for a little one? I'm having surgery soon and my baby will be turning 1. Did you need someone helping you pick up your child, etc
I can't take my eyes from your teeth and lips- just perfect!!! you are beautiful young lady!!!!
Aww thanks so much!! ❤️
You were gorgeous before as you are now! ❤️
Thanks so much! 🥰🥰
Hi your vids are great help. The lump you mentioned under your right eye was a fribosis?.What was it?
Thanks Connie!! Honestly, I’m not sure if that’s what it was. I never did get it examined by my doctor because he was over an hour away and I was just plain lazy to dry there for it 😆 I’m glad it went away though!
Thank you for doing this sharing your experience. Did you suffer dry eyes at any point after your surgery?
She mentioned in the video having dry eyes for a couple days. She had drops. And lots of itchiness!
Oh no! I hope the derma roller helps you.
Try almond oil for the scarring. My surgeon took from the inside
Great results!
Thank you! 💕
Great update you are very indept.. love your outcome I would sell my 1st born to get your under eyes
This comment tickles me lol. Thank you for the compliment! ☺️
8 months !!! ooh i won't do it :'( thank you for the video
Awww that's understandable. Thank you for watching!
@@DJMonae i am sick of my eye bags i wear glasses all the time because i don't feel comfortable with my eye bags :'( but 8 months is too much especially that i should have it over sea
I had mine done 5 days ago and barely have swelling and no bruising whatsoever because I received prp injection. I will be posting my post op videos after day 10. It was a comfortable experience for me not scary at all!

Omg I literally have the same exact undereye problem as you! I’m tired of paying for filler 😭
I had my lower lids done and enjoyed your video. Two weeks in and my under eye are still puffy. What serum from strivectin did you use
Hi, I had my eye bags removed and I'm in my 12 days of healing. Is it normal to have puffy eye bags?
Did the just removed the fat or did they repositioned the fat? I am scared that there will be a hollow after just removing fat😢 it looks so good on you
Just had this done 10 days ago. I noticed your speaking of having this done in 2017. Are the results lasting still?
Hi Vonna! My results have still been great & holding up well ☺️
Thx for sharing! U look great
