Apart from what most people say, there's a beauty in this movie. It had atmosphere, it had the original KITT (kind of), a unique soundtrack and a not-so-bad script. Devon's death surely is the darkest moment of Knight Rider, but, without this movie still "Voo Doo Knight" would be the series finale undeservedly.
I enjoy it as a continuation of the original show. I like it a lot.
The red car is pretty but the original K.I.T.T. is still a sexier car.
that thing was' is buff ugly! The actual Banshee Concept was better but why didn't they use a newer firebird?!

After watching the whole movie u start to feel sad for how things ended up in the knight rider universe. The one thing would’ve changed everything would be Devon still being alive in this universe. 😢
Definitely. Watching this movie always makes you remember how sad the ending for all of these characters were. Can you imagine what happened to KITT after all this? Even what he must have suffered through in-between the original show and this movie?
Michael as well.. maybe not as much but still.
Sometimes I like to believe that this movie was never cannon and the legacy of the original series continued on like this never happened but the truth is far from that.
The producers said it got too expensive to do the Knight Rider series. They were going through cars like crazy to make the stunts look authentic, as well as other issues.
I think they did a great job making us believe. In addition, I think they could've done more with RC's character to give it some value (like make him good at karate or some other exceptional skill) while not upstaging Michael. As a black person, it was great to see a black character constant on the show, but the role flopped and was mostly boring, in my opinion.
They could've just kept him as a recurring role without having him join the cast. It had a three's-a-crowd feel and looked awkward at times.
@A.Walker. Yeah- it's hard to keep a show going funding wise when you're using and wrecking brand new cars. That must have cost a fortune when the trans ams they were using were brand new.
I also agree with the fact they could have done more with RC
I absolutely love his character in the Knight of the Juggernaut where he was introduced
That street avenger stuff was absolutely awesome- and my dude saved KITT and Michael a time or two as the street avenger in that episode before helping to fix KITT and eventually joining the foundation. They definitely could have done more with him and I feel bad because it seems like he's forgotten a lot in this community.
I agree completely. Keeping him as the Street Avenger who would show up to help from time to time without officially being part of the foundation would have been an awesome thing for him-
Though I do love the motorcycle gags throughout that 4th season, lol.

Universal got those trans ams for free after the 1st episode from a train derailment And the fact that GMC made universal studios crush all of those magnificent cars after filming is just wrong dont yall agree?

Some times you have to let things go. KITT as an ugly red sports car was never going to work.
The black K.I.T.T. was far superior.

I remember watching the premiere for this when I was 8 years old. All these years later, I still love this movie.
The best car scenes from Knight Rider 2000 is arguably the best scenes from Knight Rider 2000.
I do like the movie though. It's a nice continuation, to me.
I would like to see a comparison between this clip of Devon in the Maddox 4000 and Devon in the Knight 2000 from 1982. Just to see the similarities.

There was a lot of good practical stunt work on this , comparable to the original show. I can't picture the bit you mean.
@@FirstDan2000around the 12s mark, you hear KITT muttering something incomprehensible... that was him faking a HD crash, he actually lost his temper when Shawn was insulting him. 😅😅
its sad they couldn't the pontiac banshee concept car so they had to build replicas of it

If you zoom in closely and look just ahead of the shifter on the Knight 4000 you can see KITT's original voice box which was supposed to be the plan but they opted not to do that for the switch over between CPUs for some odd reason but it's definitely there in the mock up for the dash which I have seen and it somehow ended up on the production dash but not used.
Say what you want to about 'Knight Rider 2000'.
It was much better than the remake of 'Knight Rider' that we saw on NBC in mid-2008 starring Val Kilmer.
'Knight Rider: The 2nd Generation' (as I called it) absolutely sucked, in my book...
I actually like the pilot, it had potential at the time but afterwards with the exceptions of the nanovirus episode and the carrying the bomb episodes it was so-so... it never got a chance to develop into something like the original.
@@BobRoss-oy4itAgreed and most likely there never will be another show with a driver and a talking car since most of todays cars talk with GPS, dash cams or Siri and/or equivalent.
Back then it was a wonder thanks to the imagination of Hollywood.
They weren't on the air long enough to find their stride, in my opinion; they only just got to their feet with the last episode I watched, I think... but by then it was too late to save their ratings. Proceeding with _KR 2000's_ plotline would have been a better idea.

And the really funny part... The second I clicked my CZcams on, the first thing I got to look at was Video Bob's 4,000 for sale. 🤪
Now in 2023....not bad ...compared to the rebooted Mustang version....tho this carknight also should've been in black....the car Did later show up on power rangers & later was found in a Hollywood TV car lot....in barely operable condition...the scanner was from j.c Whitney....pity the scanner & box are no longer made ( at least the box & ribbon wires )

I'm not a fan of conscience and sentience etc. Anyways you could already have interesting voice conversation using a large language model and cloning Kitt's voice. Now deep learning is becoming also multimodal, so it could also see and produce images, video, etc.@@pam1244

WHY WAS THE DEVON MILES CHARACTER KILLED OFF IN THIS MOVIE AND HE HAD A CHEAP LOW QUALITY DEATH AT THAT ! ! ! ? ? ?
They might of killed him off because he didn't want to be typecasted or he was in poor health in his role of Devon Miles. He passed on in RL back in 1997 so when the movie was out he may have already been sick. The movie was released back in 1991 so it took a few years. Nevertheless dying by getting konked on the head and then lethal injection was something I didn't expect in the movie.
