That's actually the tricky part. Most of the time you will have to find a label that can contact the original publisher to get permission.

nope. You'll have to use a cover acapella or pitch and change the vocal so that it's unrecognizable that it's the original

You will still get copyright strike as CZcams algorithm is quite smart enough to detect even if you pitch it down or change tempo.

Please help, how would I know if a song is safe to remix, and enables me to post it on spotify and apple music etc etc. I use distrokid as my distributor, and I notice people posting remixes of songs, how will I know if an acapella is safe to use without having to deal with copyright claims

If you want to upload remixes on Spotify, iTunes etc. you will have to make an official remix. An official remix is the one which the artist has approved and has given you the stems to the song. Basically the artist has given you permission to upload the remix. It'll prevent you from getting copyrighted. Hopefully you understood 😉
