      That's a shame... beautiful little island! Lovly beach along the south side (blood vally)
      Walked all the trails with a friend a few months back. Seen deer, golden pheasants, but no signs of them red squirrels.
      I'll be bounching around the harbour for the next week doing repairs... still waiting on a few parts to be delivered in Poole.
      If you're still local? And you both wana explore the island?? Message me, I'd be happy to dog sit Hank.
      He'd be welcome aboard, but I'd probably just take him over to Hamworthy park. There's an anchorage right next to it

    Congrats on getting married. I am always putting 'that thing in that place' on the boat and then when I come to want it, I can never remember where I put it. I know when I put it there, it was for a good reason and 'the place' made perfect sense at the time. But now I cant remember where it is, or why I put it there. What a simple but brilliant idea to box and label everything and its place on the boat and stick it on a database, I cant think why I didn't do that myself.
    But then if I had, I wouldnt be thinking your idea was such a clever one would I?

    Lock 2 nuts together where you want the cut & you can hold the whole lot in a pair of mole grips rather than your hand. By gripping the nuts, instead of the threaded part, you do not damage the thread. You can cut tight to the end nut & get an accurate length then if you damage that nut discard it.

    • @geoffgaunt9439
      @geoffgaunt9439 Před rokem +1

      I wonder if zero shown on the Torquedo display is still ok? It has probably got a factor of safety built in so you don't reach the actual minimum safe discharge value.
      When my 36v eMtb battery shows 0% the battery still measures 34V.
      The fully charged value is 42V and the min discharge value is 30, so the controller/display has a good factor of safety builder in.

    • @CadohaAdventures
      @CadohaAdventures  Před rokem +1

      It all really depends on the power you use when you're moving. We can do about 10 miles in 25% power, but if you drop down to 15%, you can do more like 20. It's amazing really, although if you go 100% power, you can do about 1 mile, the power consumption curve really is exponential.

      If you do think about buying a new outboard motor, first check out the compression ratio. Our new Suzuki is an EU approved, environmentally friendly outboard but it achieves it's performance by adopting a higher compression ratio, which means my wife cannot now start the motor on her own. Conversely, the old Suzuki's and especially the older American models (Mercury's etc) are much easier to start. Something to think about if you are considering buying a newer outboard motor.

      @@CadohaAdventures How Is It life threatening? Just tie a string around it, and it will fall off.

      The larger one on my neck is vascular, it's basically an exploded vein. Removing it is actually very involved and when I found that out I basically said 'I'm cool just leaving it'.
      It has never stopped me doing anything I love, it never stopped me competing in may Thai, cage fighting, it never stopped my competitive Jiu Jitsu career, it never stopped me climbing mountains, free diving, spear fishing, hiking, walking my dig, and most importantly it never stopped me meeting the love of my life and getting married, so all in all I feel super lucky in life, despite my somewhat unsightly 'ripe blob'. The risk/ reward ratio for having it removed just doesn't really stack up, for me.
      I have all I want in life, so why risk my life for something that is really nothing more than vanity to remove?

      @@CadohaAdventures That is good to hear. But I think we are talking about two different things. I was referring to your wort-looking thing, on your neck. I just thought, why not get it removed while you were there.
