This video should be included with every copy of FL Studio. It's not just actually useful, it's game changing.
yea people do not know how powerful the piano roll is. its literally rewriting music. just imagine if Mozart or Beethoven had this back in their day. It would really got dark with composers at that time lol
@@demolishbeatz3796 Broooo I was thinking the exact same thing. If they could’ve gotten their hands on this technology the whole genre of classical music would be mind boggling
@@itsMarty_Mar well it is cause ivan torrent and Thomas Bergeron already doing that look them up if you have not heard of them those 2 and Hans are my top 3 all time composers
@@demolishbeatz3796 Its not that different from a score made of paper. Its just more practional for people who dont have instruments to play. By the way the spacing of the notes he did in the video are impossible for human to play.
@@augusto7681practional? must be a channel thing

its still not there?
Never mind! got it
These are some great tips. Of course, you'll want to use a lot of them sparingly (such as the randomization and arpeggiator). Or you can use them as a starting point when drafting melodies, etc, and then manually fine tune the sequence to fit your compositional intention.
8:33 You can also hold down “Ctrl” and “U”
Dunno why im watching this i dont even have flstudio
It means you ll have fstudio one day for sure😉
Doesn't really matter what kind of daw you're using it's actually works with everything.
this showed up on my recommended’s too
@@bijounuage Go to LMMS.io, learn it, use it. Tell the devs how to make it better than FL Studio, and they'll do it.

Uploaded in 2019 and still very helpful. The piano roll looks intimidating at first, this tutorial really makes it familiar quickly. Thanks a lot for your effort in sharing this beautiful tutorial.
I'm in love with your videos dude, the 1st video I watched from you is turning your hum into a melody and after that, I keep getting recommendations from your channel that I can't help clicking it. And seriously, you're a really good explainer and presenter, it's like FL Studio is your second nature LOL
Actually learned something from this video. Thank you so much! I can't wait to put these techniques into good use!

Wow. Thank you for this. I've always found piano roll tedious but you've just opened my eyes.
Wow! You got a new subscriber today. One of the most useful, feature-rich videos I've stumbled across for FL studio so far. I will be referring back to these tips over and over again for my own creations. Thank you so much for your contribution to the CZcams community.

This video is under appreciated, I have been trying to learn tips on Fl studio from everyone, I mean everyone and this really summarized a lot of useful tips man Thank you.
Personally I think that randomizing velocity is not a good idea since it does sound natural, but it also sounds like an inexperienced piano player is playing
Yeah agree ! one must manually alter the vel. of notes, like in my case i just keep the lower notes at low volume and high at higher volume, this really gives the melody a better flow than just randomizing the velocities.
@@oblivion1501 As a piano player I can say there's some other steps involved, including some automation, but I suck at music theory so it's kind of hard for me to explain (plus who wants to put THAT much effort in)
@@OpticIlluzhion Music theory has nothing to do with volume.
OpticIlluzhion There’s Always The Riff Machine, As Well As Going Back, And Fixing Velocities Manually.
I Love Doing That, To Accentuate Certain Notes In Chords.
Accent down beats, and when playing faster slightly accent every other

Yes. Good Work. I been using fl for 11 years and it was good to review all the functions as they relate to polyphonic midi!
So many helpful tips. Thank you! 🙏
the last one as minor chord sounds more interesting
If you modulate on something else after that maybe.
Yeah that sounded way more colorful I loved it.

@@ArcadeFL how do i do the same for flstudio 10 i actually have both but still on flstudio 10
This is an incredibly thorough master tutorial of FL Studio's piano roll: HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!
Great tutorial! This has helped me so much
tbh I would have left the minor chord. I love those not-standard chord progressions. They are not as boring
He probably wanted to keep everything diatonic, within the same key, in this case F major. I feel you though, the b-flat-minor-chord sounded dope at the end, but I can see why he would want to keep the harmonies more simplified for this example.
@@johnimusic12 yes I get that too... but still 😑
bro I had that same thought. I always write my chords that way. Gets even greater when you start doing your voicing and then add the melodies. Truly how you can make progressions that are unexpected.
