Fantastic video!
The marches played were,
1) 5:07-The Guards Chapel
2) 7:33-Birdcage Walk
3) 10:45-The March of the King's Men
4) 14:16-Bond of Friendship
Thanks Delvin! I've never heard the first march before and found it quite interesting.
40+ mins of playing/marching is draining! The tuba players deserve a break!
Wanted to hear more of that last drum line, extra thump added, thank you, lovely!!
I thought the first march was really good and nice to hear something different
Hello Delvin-Pedia! have missed you the last few days, no one to answer questions Lol. Welcome back & there is Definitely only 1 Pedia! & it has Delvin as its first name.
Marching down Birdcage Walk playing Birdcage Walk!
Too right proud of them every single one of the military members. Keep safe and thank you to every single one of you.
Thank you for the music. I love marching bands music. Especially nobody does it better than the British.
I'd say the US Marine bands are just as good if not better, and I'm neither American nor British.
@@desfletch Nothing compered to the Royal Marine Bands
Just wonderful can't stop watching it Greatest any where in the world
Fantastic quality! Thank you for recording and posting! I can only imagine what the sound must be like in person!
Thank you.
What were you using to record? The sound quality is amazing. Listening to it in my car, I feel like I’m sitting next to the band.
Brilliant work from all, lovely to watch and listen to, well done all, proud of you,
Just brilliant, thank you for the chance to see, 😊
you are very welcome, glad you enjoyed.
Grenadiers Drum Major certainly stands out with impeccable drill...... Position of the Mace perfect overall drill movements outstanding. Well done your Regiment should be proud that you lead the Battalion.
Agreed, unlike the DM on the right, he is half a pace behind everyone else. shoddy.
The amount of practice and effort they must put in to pull this off is amazing.
Play an instrument whilst keeping in step and remembering your own parts - sort of patting your head while rubbing your belly at the same time!
Just finished the final parade there tonight, awesome experience for the national cadet force pipes and drums.
I got some footage of the pipes and drums marching up Birdcage Walk tonight, should have it posted in a day or two, keep an eye open for it. You guys did a good job 👍
Fantastic for a practice.
I’m a bit late but thank you MrBaton for this fabulous video. So very clear and steady visually and the sound is simply superb (I’m sitting here miles away with headphones on and Wow😁)
Simply the best😊
JUST BRILLIANT ❤❤❤❤💂💂💂💂
Marching is hard Work , but Marching and Play an Instrument is very hard Work , thx for the Service and Video!!
Great Video! Can't wait till i go on Wednesday 😊
Ohhh Lucky You!! Hope the Weathers good for you & you have a wonderful time.
Hope you have a great time. Will look forward to the video, I won't get to see the performance myself.
THIS NEW BANDS ARE PRETTY GOOD TOO. GREAT DISPLAYS WITH NEW MARCHING BAND MUSIC . ❤❤❤😅
Funny you see 3 pigeon at 14.57 march along to music to bad did not hold that moment very rare 😀
Great music and great video. Thank you Mr B and best wishes from Cornwall👍👍👍👍
This is absolutely fantastic brilliant
You're recordings are wonderful. I do hope you will be at the Orb & Sceptre to do it. I tried to get tickets but failed.
Thank you for your comments, I'm afraid I won't be able to get to any of the performances, but there are plenty of other creators I know who will be there so I think there will be plenty of videos of it about.
Nice Video Mr B well done brings back many memories .
Oh goody !!
15:00 pigeons marching along on the marble monument in triple time !!! 💕🇬🇧
I noted that also. The pigeons don’t miss a trick!
Great video thank you
Thank you, appreciate the comment.
Love your videos, always so smooth it's obvious you're in step with the band. I really appreciate it, I've seen others I can't watch, only listen, I get motion sickness otherwise. With your videos it's like I'm marching with them too, only the slight motion of the terrain as one would see when walking. Thanks so much.
Thank you, i'm glad you enjoy them
I love when the military individuals become one group then play with one voice. Even sitting at home I feel the spring in my step as my bum even moves to the rhythm of the march. Forward English men as one.
Excellent and well done the video taker!
Canadian here, even without full regalia. I hope I’m saying that right, they are magnificent.
Why did they split up at the very end?
Hi Kathleen, if this is the same as the last 2 Musical Spectaculars, they actually March on from 2 sides of the viewing Marque, then form up as the massed Band in the Middle & wait for the Royal Guest to arrive. Last year it was the Duke of Kent, then they play the National Anthem for the Royal Salute. Last years was Brilliant, the massed Band split up into Regiments & Marched off again twice, once for the Pipes & Drums & once for The Cavalry Band & came back each time, then all of them come together for the Finale. All the money raised goes to the Charities of the Household Division, most of which are for looking after the Welfare of the Divisions Regiments.

thank you so very much for your kind answer. I have always loved the British regimental bands and how incredible it is to watch them marching in unison.
I don’t think any other country in the world does it better.
I will look up last year’s and watch it in full, again I thank you so much for your kindness and these wonderful wonderful videos
Very Happy 4th of July to all our American Friends!! Hope you all have a Great Day!!!
Hi there. A question from Belgium. Wich drummajor has the lead with a massbands appearance.
Nice way to start my day thank you 😁
very very good
Great management of wind instrument musicians. You can get pretty puffed out marching and blowing.
These are very fit soldiers.
Fabulous music!
Great video Mr B. Thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening to the massed bands. Quick question - does the Band of the Scots Guards have their own Drum Major? Noticed that there are sometimes more than one Drum Major from the same regiment on parade, but not one from the Scots Guards? Thanks again for posting.
Just depends on the availability of Drum Majors in the Bands really, sometimes the 1-2 Drum Majors of the Scots Guards may not be able to be there
The last few outings the Scots Guards have had, they've had the Divisions Senior Drum Major SSgt Gareth Chambers MVO 1st Battalion Irish Guards with them. That was Changing the Guard at BP, Changing the Guard at Windsor, The Garter Ceremony & The Polo Finals at The Guards Polo Ground at Windsor. Drum Majors can be Sneaky, they're known to lead 1 Band to BP, then all Swap so when they leave BP they're leading Different Bands.
Thank you both for your kind replies. Much appreciated.
Why does the SDM sometimes salute as he passes the Guards Chapel and on other occasions doesn't?
Chaos one second...Order the next!
What happened to drum major Daniel Fairley.
Even the practices are perfect!!! I try to see one mistake, but no way!!! We in USA are so far away from that perfection...We feel humiliation at its best!!!
Disagree. The US Marine bands are excellent. They also play without the music on their instruments and the drumming is inventive and perfect.
How do you know when everything is?😂can you tell me so I can pop down to central and see it for myself. Thank you for the exclusive content though
There are various websites you can visit that gives you most details of events, check out the Household Division site, some good info on there. Hope you get to see it in person some time.
@@MrBaton74 thank you mate
WOW! And that is what they cal a practice. WOW! ❤
Very good Video Mr B!! Definitely back to Normal, lots of favourite Marches. I'm quite puzzled though, why would you have all the Bands massed together, then only have half them play at a time. Why not just have 2 bands? I'm sure there's probably a reason, but I'm blowed if I can think of what it is. Thanks Mr B for all your hard work again, you must be as fit as a coiled spring by now, lean & mean.
At 3:21 it’s being explained what they’re doing, I can’t make it all out.
@@geliconner9669 Yep I saw that too. It's the Musical Director from 1 of the bands, you just catch him diving in to the Ranks. The Drum Major, with the Strong Northern Irish Accent, he's the 3rd one from either side is Gareth Chambers MVO, he's the Senior Drum Major of the Division, is in control of the Massed Bands, the other Drum Majors take the lead from him. Perhaps, as this is only a rehearsal, they might be wanting to try out a few things. You never know until the actual Parade, what the disposition of the Instruments is, so perhaps they are wanting to check that the volume output on either side is the same, or maybe they have the Instruments in different places on 1. I'm hoping Mr B will attend this year too, his coverage of last years Spectacular was Brilliant. Until then I'll have to exercise some patience, something I'm not really good at.
@@geliconner9669 Actually the more I think about it, the more I'm inclined to think it's to do with volume. It looks like they are going to do their entrance onto Horse Guards the same as they did last year, standing in front of the Guards Memorial, looking at the Parade Ground, they entered from the right, which for the Trooping the Colour, was stands of Seating. Where the Troops Stood in lines, now has the Seating Stands. On the right side, there was a Marquee erected for all the Dignitaries & the Royal Guest. When the Bands entered the Parade Ground, they did so in Regiments either side of the Marquee, then marched towards the left, which was Seating for the Politicians, Visiting Military & Diplomats, those Seating Stands were where the King took the Salute along with all the Colonials & Assorted Military Personnel on Horseback. Once the Bands came in, they all came together as a Massed Band again & finally halt facing the Marquee to await the Arrival of the Royal
Party & play the National Anthem & then the Spectacular starts. They are probably checking the Volume is the same for both sides, so as they March onto Horse Guard Parade ground, you don't have loud & soft volumes for the Spectators.
@@vickyRoyalHistoryThe person giving the instructions at 3:21 is actually Assistant Senior Drum Major (WO2) Scott Fitzgerald. He was Senior Drum Major of the Household Division from 2014-2017. He's actually my favourite Drum Major! The post he holds was made specially for him. After he retired from the regular army, and came back as a reservist. So he's technically a reservist. Meaning he does not deploy with the 1st Bn. Coldstream Guards Corps of Drums when they deploy. That would be Drum Major Daniel Fairley who's the Battalion Drum Major for the 1st Bn. Coldstream Guards Corps of Drums.
@@delvinrodriguez3341 Ahhhhh! Thank you Delvin-Pedia! Some one in the same Uniform, dives into the ranks just as they step off. I thought it must have been him as I didn't know his face from my Trooping the Colour Spot Test. It really isn't fair of them to switch Head Dress; Bearskin, Forage Cap & Jockey Cap, they look different in each one & there's 6 of them all tolled now, it's just downright Sneaky. See what happens when I'm left unsupervised?
Did you get any videos of the pipers at all? My son is there. 😂
I'm afraid not, only the very short piece right at the beginning of the video.
Not rainy at all!
Oh what a lovely band! Nice to Irish Guards DM as senior DM. But where are the female musicians? I don't see any on parade.
👍👍🙌🙌
What is the practice for please ?is it for the Kings coronatioin in Scotland on Wednesday.?
Military musical spectacular for Orb and Scepter I saw in caption
It's a rehearsal for the Household Division's Orb and Sceptre musical display on Horse Guards Parade in London. 4th, 5th and 6th July. This vid is the March from Wellington Barracks to Horse Guards Parade where the event takes place.
What is the name of the March that the Band started off with before Bird Cage
It's called The Guards Chapel.
Ok DM Chambers with your instructions and salute
Hi Charlotte! lol I finally found out why he Salutes the Grenadiers & is the only DM that does. It's because he's the Senior Drum Major for the Division, that's a Staff Position which makes him a Staff Sergeant. The Grenadiers are the Senior Regiment of the Guards & there's I believe Staff people based there. I was told who but I can't remember.
@@vickyRoyalHistory thanks for the info! I noticed no one else salutes but him. You’re the best😊
@@charlottecunningham2141 You're very Welcome😀
What are they practicing for....there amazing
Some event called the Orb and Sceptre
Hi Gail, Every Year the Household Division puts on a "Musical Spectacular". The Household Division (aka London Division) Bands come from the 5 Infantry Regiments & the Cavalry Regiment that Guard the Monarch. All the proceeds from the Show goes to the Regiments' Charities. This years theme is the Orb & Sceptre, which is the Ball & thing that looks like a large wand, that the Monarch holds at the Coronation. They were also laid on the Queens Coffin & were removed before it was lowered into the Crypt at St Georges Chapel, Windsor. Last years one was called The Queen & The Commonwealth, it was Brilliant. In the Show, all these bands will be in the familiar Bright Red Tunics & the Drum Majors will be in Full Ceremonial Uniform, The Gold Tunic & wearing a Jockey Cap. There will also be the Pipes & Drums of the Division & The Household Cavalry Band. It really is a Musical Spectacular, with a wide range of Music & Marching. There are a number of videos of last years one on You Tube, well worth a watch.
@vickyRoyalHistory thank you for the info. I love watching the bands on You tube. I'm in Yorkshire
@@gailrichardson562 You're very Welcome. Yorkshire would be a long way to come to watch the Spectacular alright. I think you see more on the better You Tube Channels anyway, except for people bobbing up & down, but you'd get the same thing if you were there anyway. I love the Guards Bands too, Mr B keeps a steady stream of Videos coming & they're all great, an added extra is he gets all the behind the scenes goings on, on the Guard Changes Videos.
They keep
Practicing and marching for perfection
The foot guards regiments bands fall in march to horse guards parade London
what is the drum major saluting at ?
Statue
The music starts @4:58
Why does the officer salute as he is the only one doing it, all I see is a monument of a dog I think
The Flanders Fields Memorial is in that area, as Senior Drum Major he salutes the memorials as he passes, if you check at about 14:50 you can see him saluting as they go past the Guards Memorial.
