    When you forgot the word torque, I felt that. When my brain can't be bothered to work right, I know its lunch time

      I very much enjoyed working for Sunstate. Very good people and professional. And very nice aircraft.

    Do you have to loosen the attachment bolts at the root ? the wing does show considerable drop once the strut is removed. Does this cause any damage to the wing spar? Thanks

      Good question! So the how this year of Cessna 150 is built the wings are connected to to the fuselage with 2 bolts and bushings that allow the the wing to hinge up and down freely without damaging or breaking torque off the spar bolts. Sorry for the late response. But a really good question.

    If you know, what metal is the strut made from, steel or aluminum?

  • @ninerlives
    @ninerlives Před 3 lety

    What is the strut made of? I’ve always wondered how strong it is and how much weight AN8 bolts are rated for.

    • @aerocrafty6006
      @aerocrafty6006  Před 3 lety

      They are hollow and are fairly light. Not totally sure what the total weight they can handle but it is quite a lot.

      @@aerocrafty6006 Found the answer. About 30,000 pounds those bolts can take.

    Does it get the same AD inspection for struts as the 172? For cracks inside

    • @aerocrafty6006
      @aerocrafty6006  Před 3 lety +1

      No AD of that sort on a Cessna 150M. I was just concerned by the noise it was making and decided to have a look.

    Did you give them a quote to install a step?

    • @aerocrafty6006
      @aerocrafty6006  Před 3 lety

      I have not given them a quote yet. But I did say they need to have a step installed or keep a step ladder handy to keep students off the strut .
