I love Charlie and I know his jokes are mostly in jest with how harsh he can come off as but this is the best way to face criticism. Props to him and props to Charlie for making this with him! 😊👏💕
Honestly the passion that he has for teaching people how to disarm and defend themselves, and the fact that he can have a good time and take a joke while doing so makes this man one of the most respecible people on this planet. And It was cool seeing him have fun with Charlie and his friends 😂.
Those close quarter scenarios where the gunmen has the weapon pressed against your head or back are perfectly realistic and common scenarios in home invasions or robberies where people are in confined spaces. In these cases the robber holding the gun isn't likely to keep more than an arms length in anticipation of a disarm or gun reversal technique, but stay close to you so you don't runaway and call for help, since in a house or building you can just book a quick right or left into a room and lock and barricade the door. The best thing for normal people to do in home invasions is to stay hidden and call the cops, or escape if possible, but every scenario has different applicable techniques or actions, and those taught by Dale just apply to these types of Close quarters scenarios. Not unrealistic, just not applicable to a lot of situations. Again though, it takes serious training to ingrain these types of techniques into muscle memory and watching a 1 min video and trying it out with your friends for an hour probably isn't going to do you much good. Good stuff good stuff
that's what I was thinking because actually looking at him doing it looks real and actually effective then seeing this guy replicate it it seems like a joke actually
@@gv90072_ well, also that depending who's the dangerous person, any slight movement can and probably result in death. But if you really believe with all of Dale's training, I really want to see if you could replicate a real-life situation.
Imagine you rob someone, you held them at gunpoint at the back, only for then you realize it's Dale and the gun suddenly spawns on his hands, like you didn't even realized he took it from you.
Then you remember you binge watched all of Dale’s self defense training videos and try to take the gun right back from his hand only for Dale to pull back the gun and say: “Nice try, I see you know my techniques.”
You are right - if you have not been exposed to assault/combat/fighting levels of stress, you WILL panic if you do end up in those situations. You simply can't handle the fight or flight response and massive adrenaline dump.. I've been in a lot of near-death/high-risk situations and it took years to develop a mental callous. also, the fact that he was cool with your videos and even met up with you is pretty damn respectable. Props to you, Dale. At the end of the day, the kind of situations Dale talks about are unpredictable and in a fight all it takes is one lucky shot/move and it's over
I really appreciate the way Charlie has a laugh and can joke about people’s content but stays respectful and open minded. He actually trained with him and wasn’t ignorant yet still stays unbiased and truthful!
I think an important part would be to dedicate a part of the video to discussing what situations and when it should be done. Most of these are last resort, and it is very important to get the message through, of what is a last resort situation. A longer video will be able to facilitate that, so it might be worth considering longer videos that have this kind of discussion.
In a robbery, Dale is right that the gun is typically close to you. For the very reason you stated early on in the video: they want it to he discreet. So it may be useful more often than you think. It's good to see Dale can take a joke and is not just a scammer. He seems like he's got a heart of gold and is acting in good faith.

Exactly - the situation is where the perp is going to kill you. You will either die; die trying or survive. Dale's moves put the odds in your favor. If you don't try anything at all - you're dead anyway.
11:25 you are correct. In most scenarios you will break the attackers finger, maybe even rip it off. In a lot of these screnarios you are abusing human anatomy to cause damage that gives you time and distance.

5:58 - This is 100% true. If you are the kind of person who panics in a stressful situation (this is most people), all of your techniques will be thrown out the window. Even in just a regular, good old street fight with no weapons involved. The only way to get past that is to spend years training and drilling these techniques so that you do them automatically; without thinking. That being said, I think it's irresponsible for this guy, no matter how nice he is, to publicly post CZcams videos about disarming people of their weapons because it will give many people a false sense of confidence that will get them severely injured or killed. The best way to survive a gun is to run away and hope they have terrible aim; which is very likely especially if they are using a handgun. Get behind cover and out of their line of sight as fast as possible.
i don’t really get how you can say that people will throw out everything and act on instinct on the one hand, but his advice is also harmful on the other. if people will act on instinct in these situations i don’t get why it matters
The issue with this whole situation is people think that Dale is trying to train assassins in less than 10 minutes or something but it’s just last resort self defense and the point of it’s publication is to be able to practice and prepare yourself for scenarios where there is a chance of survival I think the goal and purpose of the vids is perfectly plausible
The thing about gun defense is that you almost cant do anything you are most likely going to die so i think what dale is trying to do is help that 1% become a 5% survival chance
This is really cool Charlie; really appreciate that you were willing and able to change your thoughts on some stuff- but also keep your differing opinions on other stuff as well. Not a lot of influencers are willing to admit they’re not absolute paragons of knowledge and absolute truth at all times. You changed some views and kept some. Good on ya 👍🏻 update: wtf 1400 likes is more than my parents over my lifespan
I'm just going to pretend that Charlie got a concussion. To be fair, Charlie isn't a martial artist, so the bullshit looks ok in his eyes. Still, a bit irresponsible to even try to shine that turd.
Very cool! Glad that Charlie and Dale were honest about it being only in the worst case scenario. At that point, do anything and to learn these moves may be helpful.
In regards to the robber keeping a distance (or the gun in a pocket), I've been robbed at gunpoint while sitting on the curb of a sidewalk. At first they had the gun near my head, kind of pointing at my neck, but as he was asking for my wallet and phone, i was being pushed until i was on my back and the gun's barrel was on my forehead. I remember feeling it was cold. So yeah, it does happen. Although I'm not sure Dale has any techniques for people basically laying down on the floor lol.
Can we all just appreciate how honest Charlie is and how he doesn't suck up to dale just because he was in and is still honest and and stays true to what he thinks
i think something that is important to remember with these tacktics is that while, yes, you will barely ever be in a situation where they are useable and most people wont even be ably to utalize the tequniques in those situations, it still increases your chances of surviving when everything does work out and you can gain control of the situation, even if things barely ever work out in a way that lets you use one of Dale's methods.
Appreciate you making these videos with Dale so I can actually have some respect for him and not think of him as a “scammer” that’s just gonna get people shot
I totally think what Charlie is saying is right that an untrained person would not be able to perform Dale's ultimate moves but Dale seems like a genuinely epic person who just wants to protect with good intent and to that I salute.
main other thing i would say is. Charlie said in a scenario where you are robbing someone you wouldnt think about them trying to fight back in someway. I dont believe in this because personally if it were me and i was robbing someone i would think this person could try something because if your holding a gun at someone you need to think you cant just be dumb and expect someone to give you everything, in this scenario you need to be prepared for anything that happens.
I don’t understand why he thinks the expectation is to pull out the John Wick moves out after having seen them once, if Dale trained you for a few weeks your likelihood of surviving the situations you’re trained for is definitely higher than somebody who isn’t trained. The point of Dale’s videos is to draw people towards his business, it seems really obvious that you have to actually practice to get good enough at these for them to be at all effective, like anything else in life.
@@alt2484 If your intention is to rob someone and you mark a person who you think has the potential to fight back, you're a pretty poor criminal. If you're a smart criminal you're going to pick someone who you think will comply without much difficulty and if you're a dumb criminal you're still going to go after someone who isn't going to make much fuss because the risk of life and freedom is ever-looming no matter how foolish they are. Whether they're smart or not, the goal is to grab a quick and easy mark, get your score discreetly and get out. I'm not saying that there aren't criminals out there thinking as you've said, but they are by far the minority.
I like and appreciate all the disclaimer. The problem is a lot of people, especially young women, watch a million of these self defense type videos and think they can be a hero and can put up a fight... there was that story about an MMA fighter trying to resist a mugger and getting her face smashed with a hammer. When you're faced off with someone armed with a weapon and desperation, no amount of self defense is gonna 100% keep you safe and unless you're armed with a better weapon (like a gun vs a knife attacker) any form of self defense you have at your disposal should only ever be viewed as a LAST resort, if your attacker is already actively harming you and you might as well put up a fight or escape because you'll get hurt/killed regardless, and is only decreasing your odds of getting hurt/killed but never by 100%.
Ayoo, he said straight up, very last resort, gonna hurt you no matter what... IMMINENT The fuck are you even going on about? If someone hears this and proceeds to get themselves smashed with a hammer strictly because they tried something, THAT IS ON THEM. Jesus, why must everything be dumbed down to the lowest common demonstrator? Last I checked, stupid people removing themselves from the gene pool was a good thing.
Young women and women in general scare me the most They become super reckless and end up getting themselves harmed severely they need a reality check Also if it’s a melee weapon and you know a disarming technique you could defeat someone with a hand held weapon
This is an anime arc where both characters are good guys just with different views but in the end come together and agree on one point and its beautiful
@SoxHo If it's a genuine unhinged dude holding a gun to you who's not intending to let you walk away without putting a bullet in you (and you're at the right distance) it will definitely increase your survivability. Probably still gonna die tho
@SoxHo Just imagine you are in being pointed with a gun. What are you gonna do? Stand there? Dale helps us to "increase" our survival chances, but sometimes they don't work because the robbers/kidnappers can be smartasses and did a fucking matrix move. Dale never told us that it will help us 100%. It's pretty much rng (random number generator). Also if you dont know anything about increasing chances of survival or preventing yourself being kidnapped/hostaged. Just watch Detroit Survival Management. You will get the idea after you watched like alot of videos on how to survive. Also even if they are bs, they can still work BUT not EVERY single time. It involves around rng. If you watched survival tips, you would have atleast a "high" chance of surviving. But if you didn't watch any survival tips, you would have no idea on what to do and gives up on life, or you would just risk your life like a fucking chess match. Look, i get it that they are bs. But there is something called an "opinion". By the way, if the survival tips REALLY do help, LIKE A 100% survivability. Then your opinion is wrong.

I watch Charlie for entertainment but I take everything he says with a grain of salt because at the rate he's releasing videos, you know he's not doing proper research himself. Like when he made the video insinuating shorts clips have no financial potential, DarkViperAU came out with a video blatantly proving him wrong. As he's made hundreds of thousands from his clips channel. Channels like these as much as I hate to admit have huge sheep followers. He'll say something one day and then down the line make another video saying something different and people will just change their view on the flip of a dime.
Actually if you watch real footage of robberies and such, the attackers are 99% of the time very stupid and flash the gun and put it against their victims.
Everyone's calling him a scammer and yeah I agree 100% I don't think any of his teachings should really be USED without like 100% proper training, but as Charlie said it was HARD TO TAKE HIM DOWN, he is OFFICIAL, again I don't think anyone should try it, but in the EXTREMELY specific situations he gives with the perfect conditions and enough training it would work. The Bible says in John 3:16-36 that whoever believes in the Lord Jesus Christ shall not perish but have everlasting life, the Bible also says in Romans 10:9 that those who declare with their mouth that Jesus Christ is their God, Lord, and Savior they shall be saved. Revelation 1:8 says that Jesus is the alpha and the omega. Luke and revelation is the ending times, and Jesus is returning back. So are you going to submit your life to him or no? Narrow is the path that leads to the gates of heaven, but only few people find it. The gates that is the path to destruction is where many people find it! Jesus loves you SO MUCH!

The thing about gun defense is that you almost cant do anything you are most likely going to die so i think what dale is trying to do is help that 1% become a 5% survival chance

i think something that is important to remember with these tacktics is that while, yes, you will barely ever be in a situation where they are useable and most people wont even be ably to utalize the tequniques in those situations, it still increases your chances of surviving when everything does work out and you can gain control of the situation, even if things barely ever work out in a way that lets you use one of Dale's methods.
Appreciate you making these videos with Dale so I can actually have some respect for him and not think of him as a “scammer” that’s just gonna get people shot

He’s also a great meme
Well that's why he provides actual training. The videos are just marketing.
main other thing i would say is.
Young women and women in general scare me the most

@@diefool3162 could still be, since the first part is just the descriptions first line
@@Wavpro he’s actually commented on one of my videos and we have interacted. Plus he makes many videos that I comment on and he hearts them. (Not on this account, it’s an alt)
